I’m not a Winter person, I’m always happy to see it end. I’m seeing signs of Spring; robins, daffodils are popping up, and the days are longer.

For me it’s officially Spring when i can play in the dirt. The first thing I plant every year are peas. DH is hoping the ground is tillable. If it is I’ll be planting peas this weekend! I’m also curious if my garlic has sprouted. It’s in the far end (snowy end of the yard which is now muddy) but I’m going out today to check!

We don’t get much winter here. Planting season begins in February. I was a little late to the game as I wanted to redo our long driveway flowerbed and make some adds to an area in the front but got caught up in other things. You will appreciate that I’ve been playing in the dirt. After turning the soil last week, I put in jumbo elephant ear bulbs, bulbs for three kinds of lilies and five kinds of giant hosta roots. Who knows if any of it will grow but I’m hopeful.
