If you have an AP, do you find the requirement to reserve a park each day limiting or is it pretty easy to get your park for the day?
Generally easy, but can be difficult around the major holidays (primarily affecting Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios). If you make them well in advance, even these aren’t a problem.

Hope this question makes sense. If you already have an AP, are you eligible to take advantage of the package deals? For example-the room, park hopper passes and free dining offered in December. If so, how would that work? Or would this defeat the purpose of the AP? Would you just be able to use an AP discount for your rooms? Thanks guys!
The AP discount only applies to room-only reservations, not to packages.

OK looking at buying discounted tickets and then bridging them into an annual pass.
I understand from 3rd party vendors you get the value of the ticket purchased (not the price).

My question is what about discounted tickets directly through Disney.

The canadian deal would save me about $600 on tickets but doesn't do me much good if they only count the dollar value paid (not "gate" value) and I then would be better off going through the 3rd party and saving ($200) toward my AP upgrade

Anyone have any experience with this?

I don’t have first-hand experience but it’s always been my understanding that tickets purchased through WDW do not “bridge” and will be credited for price paid. With an exchange rate involved you could end up “losing.”

I've heard purchasing tickets at the gate costs more than getting the in advance. My question is, does purchasing them while you are at the resort a day or two ahead count as purchasing in advance?

If we purchase tickets through Disney now, and a discount is released, could we return and buy at the discounted price? (Like with a package.) Or do we need to wait to see if a discount for our April trip is released? (Staying off site.)

As long as the tickets are purchased through MDE before arriving at the park entrance you’ll avoid the extra cost. But be aware you cannot purchase/book LLMP/LLSP until you have tickets.

Tickets purchased directly from WDW are non-refundable. Some authorized resellers have a refund policy -- just check the details of that if you are considering you may need/want to return the tickets.

Hey all! We are heading to Florida to visit the mouse and family for my DN 18th birthday. She will not be 18 on the trip and we have 2 other kids going. Grandpa is a Florida resident and was going to come for 1 day. The question is, is he able to purchase a 1 day ticket for himself and 3 day tickets for the kids? I know other non-resident adults have to pay full price. And I believe his 1 day ticket is not discounted as well but that’s ok.

TIA

Any word on Disney ever releasing tickets for December 2025? It is October already. Most people start planning more than a year out.

Will grandpa be with you on the first day at the park? He would need to activate the FL Resident tickets for the kids with his ID. I know the FL Resident "Discover Disney" ticket offer ended earlier this fall so I'm not sure what is offered right now for discounts.

I like this thread - very convenient.

Scenario: Leadership conference in Orlando the first full week of August. Definitely wanting to go the week after it's over, which is a Friday. I've been thinking of a 4-day with Water so we can fill the extra two days with the waterparks, being that it's August and we Californians don't do FL level heat very well.

Decision: I was also thinking of getting an 8-day ticket instead of 4 day so that the wife and kids can hit the parks through the week. And only for $120 more each. That's cheaper than Genie or LL or whatever it is. BUT...for $80 more, there's the Pirate AP. Then we can come back the next year for much less. My question would be how are reservations for these passes in the Summer? I'm used to the old Disneyland APs where we just showed up. But reservations make it tricky. What's the likelihood of booking some days during the conference, and then there's still plenty of reservation spots available 5 days later?

Thanks!

Another ticket question. I'll be at a conference before we do WDW, so I'll have a few more extra days at the conference hotel before I check into a Disney resort. If I have a 4-8 ticket (with a package), can I start visiting the parks a few days before I get into the resort? How would that work?

Pirate AP are for Florida Residents. Are you?

No, package tickets start with the WDW resort check-in date and cannot be activated early. Plus everyone on a package reservation must have the same length ticket. You can book room-only and buy the tickets separately. Check if your conference offering discounted tickets, some do.

We had an incident several years back resulting in complimentary 4-day Park Hopper tickets. In MDE, the tickets are listed as "Valid 07/07/2022-07/07/2027." Do I have to make park reservations if I have this type of ticket? I have a WDW resort room booked, but because I had these tickets, it is just a room, not a package. Will I be able to do Lightning Lane Multi Pass 7 days in advance or ony 3 days in advance?

Those will require park reservations. 7 days in advance for LLMP & LLSP since you will have both a room reservation and park admission.

WDW has announced an expiration date extension for tickets impacted by this week's closures due to Hurricane Milton:

Partially-used multi-day tickets (with remaining unused entitlements) will be valid for use through Oct. 11, 2025 for those who do not return to the parks later in the week after re-opening. Please be aware that as of this time, using such a ticket after the original expiration date will require a theme park reservation.

Fully-unused tickets may have the date adjusted to a new start date.

I have all the tickets for all 7 of us going this week and they're all saved in my wallet as well as in MDE. Now, thanks to Hurricane Milton, DS and family will arrive the day before DH and myself, and they want to go to a park. But when DS goes to his MDE account and tries to link his ticket, its won't let him because "this ticket is already linked to another account". But first, I don't know how to un-link a ticket, and second, I'm so afraid of him still not being able to link it. Is there a way I can directly put the ticket in his account? If so, could I put all their tickets in his account or would everyone have to set up an account, and then I'd have to put each ticket individually into that person's account? And if it matters, they're staying off-site for the day/night before we arrive.
