we have both old single day tickets (10+ years old) and 10 day non expiring park hopper with water park tickets.
Are the old single day tickets truly single day that you purchased but never used? Not a comp ticket and not 1 day remaining on a multi-day ticket?
  • Comp tickets cannot be upgraded
  • Partially-used multi-day tickets cannot be upgraded more than 14 days after first use.
  • So if it is truly a single day ticket that was purchased but never used, it can be upgraded. The value towards upgrade may depend on how old -- but probably somewhere in the $125-$135 range if older than 2017.

Is the 10-day truly a "non-expiring" the extra add-on that was available for several years which allowed it could be used a couple of days one trip, a couple of days another trip, etc.? Or it is that it's older and unused but would expire within 14-days of first use?
  • For tickets with the "non-expiring" add-on it is generally recommended to just use those tickets for multiple future visits because in an upgrade you would likely lose whatever add-on cost you paid to make them "non-expiring."
  • For just a fully-unused older ticket that didn't have the non-expiring option, you can upgrade those. The value towards upgrade may depend on how old -- but probably around $530 if older than 2017. As long as none of the "plus" options were used you can upgrade to any regular AP; if you use any plus options prior to upgrade, you will need to "plus" the AP by adding the water parks and sports option to the AP.
As long as you are DVC eligible for discounts you may purchase the Sorcerer AP, with or without the water parks and sports add-on. Be aware of blackout dates.

For those who upgraded their one day ticket to an annual pass (pirate pass for us), how easy was the process at the end of the day? Where exactly do you go to upgrade it and can it be done at any park?

Also do they reimburse you the parking paid if you upgrade to the annual pass the same day?

We are staying on WDW property in early March on a discounted package promotion that made financial sense vs. booking a room-only discount. We are staying 6 nights and currently have a 3 day base ticket as we usually do only one park per day. We have considered doing a Disney After Hours event at DHS to take the place of a DHS day. However, we are now possibly considering doing a full DHS park day instead of the After Hours due to the lower price of an add-on day vs. the cost of the After Hours ticket. We really haven't decided yet as some of our guests have changed and some plans are still up in the air.

My question is: Will we have to add the extra day ticket add-on before our 60 day payment windo for the package is do, or is this something we can do after. we decide what to do? I know that package rules are different and we would need to have this decided very soon (our payment is due at the end of January). Any help or suggestions about this would be appreciated.

You can add a 4th day to your 3-day tickets at any time prior to arrival up through and including the day you use the 3rd park entry. No rush to make the decision before PIF date. (However, isn't PIF for a package at 30 days not 60?)

Not sure where you're getting 60 days?
Final payment of packages is 30 days.

No need to worry about making a decision on the park ticket add on. It can be done through the last day of your ticket.
Although personally I'm someone that rather do it sooner than later and not have to go to guest services so I'd decide on that before you go and either modify online if possible or call.

I have a very specific ticket question.
We booked a free dining deal from 6/9-6/18 and purchased 7 day park hopper tickets as part of the package through undercover tourist. When I purchased, it said the tickets would be good until 6/18. Our order confirmation however, says the tickets are only valid until 6/16. I emailed Undercover Tourist support for clarification and they said

Since you booked a vacation package, your tickets are valid for any 7 days between June 9th and June 16th, 2025—not the full 8-day period. This is because the 7-day ticket option within a package is intended for use on any 7 days of your choice within that 8-day window, giving you the flexibility to select the days that work best for you.

If you had purchased the tickets separately from the package, the tickets would be valid for 10 days (from June 9th to June 18th), and you could use them on non-consecutive days. However, with your vacation package, the 7-day validity is set within that 8-day window, which is why the confirmation email shows June 9th through June 16th as the valid dates for your park tickets.

I go to Disneyworld.com and put the same package together and it says the tickets would be valid until 6/18. Is Undercover Tourist just off here or do we need to visit the parks for 7 of our first 8 days?

I would guess their support response is not accurate... I’ve never heard of tickets only being valid for a shorter time but I’ve also never booked a package through a third party.

I just priced out (on UT) a 9-night stay with a 7-day ticket, arriving 6/9/2025 and the summary before check-out shows this:

Yeah, I thought it was really odd, but then the customer service rep doubled down on the ending date as well. And I also thought of all the times that CMs gave us incorrect info (especially those from call centers). Maybe it will give me details after I add the tickets into MDE.

I have three six-day tickets included in a package for an upcoming stay with my adult daughters. I am thinking about coming before they arrive and staying after they leave (of course, I will have to reserve different rooms for those extra days). Can I add four more days to just my park ticket and reserve room only for the days before and after my time with them?

I am thinking of getting a family suite at All Star Music for myself, my son and adult daughter. I want to get the package, but my older daughter is only staying four days. My son and I are staying six days. Can I buy the package with theme park tickets for four days and then after we get to Disney add two days to the tickets for just my son and me? If not, then would I just get the room and buy our tickets separately?

Thank you in advance!

My next visit is in April and I will have an AP voucher. Can this be activated at MK? I'm used to activating them at EP, but this stay will be at the Contemporary.

Unfortunately no. With a package everyone must have all the same components. Can you change to a room-only reservation and buy tickets separately based on what you each need? Also be aware package tickets cannot start earlier than the check-in date.

You can. If you might want LL for those later dates you won’t be able to purchase that until your arrival and extend the tickets.
If not, then would I just get the room and buy our tickets separately?
That is possibly a better option unless there is something about the package that you want/need.

Thank you for that information.

For a one-day base ticket at one park, is there any difference in price to buy online vs at gate?

For example, tomorrow to go to Epcot, the price online quotes $164 per adult plus tax, or $349.32 all-in for two adults. Will this be the same price when walking up to the gate, or will it be more? I'm trying to manage expectations for visitors who aren't sure they want to purchase ahead of time.

EDITED TO ADD: I just found a post in this thread from June 2024 that said (1) gate prices may be ~$20 more than the online price, and (2) they will have to have an MDE account because all tickets are digital.

Are both of these still the case? Even MDE? Can they not just get a hard ticket card if we don't plan to use LL or ADR or anything else? If they have to create an MDE, it is going to be very complicated for them. I thought they could just get an entry card for the one day.
