We bought parkhoppers from Boardwalk Ticketing. They are linked to our MDE account and everything looks good for our November trip.

DD17 has just made plans to go back to WDW with friends for spring break, so I figured it would be best to upgrade her parkhopper to a DVC AP. Can I do the upgrade at any park? my resort? Does the parkhopper need to be partially used before I upgrade it? I want her to have the DVC AP on our November trip and use it at least once so it will be already activated before her March trip (we won't be with her in March, so she won't have a DVC membership card).

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Just have her use it at least once to enter a park, then go to guest services and tell them she'd like to upgrade to an AP. That will get you the best price for the AP because the cast member should price bridge what you paid on Boardwalk to the current price Disney is charging. For example, if you paid $400 for the ticket, but Disney currently charges $425 for the ticket, if it has been used Disney should give you $425 trade-in credit toward the AP.

For the remainder of the trip, when she enters a park, she will use the AP automatically.

One word of caution: while you are at guest services, do not leave the counter until the CM tells you the expiration date on the AP. You can also look it up on the MDE website on your phone while you stand there. The expiration date should be one year from when the park hopper was first used. When I did an upgrade in June, the expiration date should have been 6/1/17, but it was 2/10/17! Yikes.

I hope that all makes sense!

1. Yes. At any ticket booth or Guest Relations.
2. APs cannot be handled at resorts.
3. No. (But, it CAN be, if you like.)
4. OK.

If you do this now would you be given the extra month? So instead of a 12 month pass it would be a 13 month pass?
