After 11 weeks on Atkins, I've been averaging almost 2.5 pounds lost per week. I've been really pleased, but always hoping that it would just all disappear! About 3 weeks ago, I began to work out with intensity with a trainer. She pushes me further than I ever thought I could go. My muscles hurt, but it feels so invigorating to know I'm STRONG! I had been working out with Walk away the Pounds at home for about 6 weeks, but I'm a wimp and didn't push myself hard.
Well, I'm now up to an hour of cardio 4-5 times per week. "Cardio" has an all-new meaning to me! I've never been so close to death! BUT it feels so good when I'm done. Today, VOLUNTARILY, I walked/ran nearly 3 miles!
Anyway, I've discovered something about me. I've always been solid (family genes, I think), weighing more than I look like I weigh. I looked like I weighed about 170 and was 210, wearing a size 18. People are shocked when I tell them how much I weigh.
Well, BODY FAT has been my new discovery! About 10 years ago, I lost about 40 pounds on WW. I struggled constantly and never made it to goal before giving up. My body fat % has almost always been over 30, even when I was on WW and doing aerobics 3x a week. It was over 35 when I started Atkins in July. I'm going to revise my goals to show a bit higher weight, but smaller clothing size because I know that I'm actually going to be FIT this time!
Again, thanks for letting me babble!
