Glad to hear that everyone has been having such a great time on their vacations and are pleased with their rooms.

We are now under the 20 day mark for our YC stay and as you can tell by the time on this post, I'm so excited that I can't sleep. LOL by the time we leave for WDW, I'll be exhausted.

dsnydreams....I'll have to take a trip over to the BC to say hello to Baxter....after all, our trip is "The Baxter family reunion". Won't he be surprised when I walk in with a gaggle of Baxters.

Note to Joe: Hope all is going well with school. If you need me for any graphics work, you know where to find me !!!

Any news on the Beach Club DVC addition? Do you think they will have an extra exercise room or additional lobby area? There was some discussion of a new pool. Anybody seen a hole for a new pool?

From what I could see there's really no place for a pool.....unless they knock down trees! If you're on the road leading up to the BC the villas are directly to your left......and pretty close to the existing buildings.

Hi,

From what I hear, the DVC guests will probably have to use the three pools at the Yacht Club and Beach Club. Uh...check www.wdwig.com for a BCV faq, there's also on on the DIS (i think). When I get a chance, I'll update this page with new information and construction photos. Thanks,

JC

PS...eh...I have like NO time this week to update the forum, but i promise, I will in November. :) Thanks you guys for keeping this place rolling. Adios~!

Thanks Joe. This forum is wonderful.

Another family has posted some recent pictures of BCV at:
http://www.geocities.com/instantmemories/25.html

I'm also seeing a pool for the villas being reported on the DIS DVC forum. They don't show all the great pictures this thread has.

I hope they also use the same type of concept for the BC as WL with the additional lobby, and possibly some amenities off of it like a community room for activities. I also don't know if they'll have an exercise room since the Beach Club/YC exercise room is there. Activity rooms and game rooms are nice for the waiting time while family and friends arrive to go out to dinner or when those afternoon Florida rains come. I was impressed by the WL lobby that is dedicated to the villas, another nice indoor area for BC would be great and available to all, just closer in proximity to those staying in the villas.

All your hard work and effort with this forum is greatly appreciated, Joe Cool. The name fits, this is cool.

Thanks for the photo link--it looks like the villas construction is really coming along! I'm also curious about the pool. With the recreation space at the YC/BC already full, I'd think that Disney would have at least one more pools for the villas.

Does anyone who has stayed at YC Concierge recall if the TV's had VCR's?

Thanks in advance for any info !!

I'm a little confused about getting to MGM from the Yacht Club. The FAQ says the boat takes longer... longer than what? Is it walking distance like Epcot? Or is there a bus out front like to MK?
What's the "best" way to get there?

Jody:

I believe Joe is stating that the boats take longer to get to Epcot and MGM than to walk to either park.

MGM is about a 15 minute walk. Epcot is about 8-10 minutes. The Friendship boats definitely take longer than those two time estimates.

I was looking at my WDW Transportation Guide from last year and it does not list bus transportation to MGM. I believe it's walk or boat only.

Hopefully see you in 13 days !!!!!

Linda

Thanks Linda! I'm so happy to hear it's walking distance! Now I know why people rave about the YC location! Wow! We can walk to Epcot AND MGM!

I'm getting really really excited. We leave Tuesday night. Our first night is at the Marriott DD, then 4 nights at ASMu - and then onward and upward to YC Concierge on the 3rd!!! I'm sure I'll see you there!

dsnydreams - I agree about Baxter at the front desk. He is a super nice guy and really knows how to make Disney guests feel special. We had a problem with our room upon check-in and he resolved the problem and more.

BC is our favorite Disney resort. We hope to be able to buy into the BCV when they open next year.

Updates, updates, updates...

First of all, I have some good news.

I just recieved word that I've been offered admission into the 5-year B.Arch architecture degree program at Penn State!!! My parents are literally jumping up and down over this one...I was at my girlfriend's house when they called me with the news, and I screamed so loud that I still feel it in my throat... :) YESSS! YEEEEEHAAA! I think Talli got her hearing back in her left ear...*laughs* This was the "hard" one to get in...they only accept something like 80 freshmen into the program on credentials, 20 out of that are "conditional" third-tier admission. From what it looks like, my acceptance letter was mailed only 2 weeks after they recieved it...that's first tier. Whew. :D 1 down, 3 to go. heh...

OK. Now. I have some time today to add stuff to the first page, but I need to figure out how to get the uploading software into this computer. BUT I will update in November. :)

I am requesting that ANYONE who has new information or whatever from Disney (discounts, rates, whateva!) email me at jdiedwardo@enter.net anytime. ANYtime, whenever you want something uploaded or updated, email it to me. Posting here won't work too well because I've only been checking this place every week or so. So...for now, I'm taking into account the 4 months or so of posts that have been posted on this thread, and the rest is self-explanatory. It'll be done (for the most part) on November 30.

Have a great 'warmest month in the east cost on record',

JC

CM Baxter is the greatest! I couldn't believe my luck when checking in @the Yacht Club and there was Baxter! He told me he might be leaving soon to go onward and upward (these are my words). I had a standard view, but in my "standard " view room I could see the Boardwalk, the water and watch the boats moving back and forth. It was wonderful and I thank Baxter for it.

Congradulation Joe. They are lucky to have you.

Anyone have more recent pictures of BCV? In understand the exterior is completed.

First of all I would just like to thank Joe Cool for all of this amazing information. We are currently booked at the Swan in a studio but are seriously considering changing to the YC/BC because the rates have gone down. Reading this FAQ for the past two days is definitely changing my mind!!

I have a question that I could not find the answer to in the FAQ. What are the pool hours for Stormalong Bay? I read on the first page that as long as you are quite you can use the pool at any time but I wasn't sure if that was just referring to the quiet pools. What time are there lifeguards on duty until?

Joe Cool....Congrats on your acceptance into Penn State! Sounds like quite an accomplishment!

If your forced to slum it in the Swan, don't worry, you won't be dissappointed. It is a beautiful resort, and one of the pools may be the second or third best in any of the resorts. It has a huge waterfall that you can get underneath in the hot sun as well as two bridges for a little shade if needed. There is also a great sandy beach area. Actually, that describes just one of 3 or 4 pools. It's sister resort the Dolphin has 8 (?) restaraunts.

The swan will be wonderful and has a great location as well. Any of the resorts around cresent lake are top notch. Enjoy.

We stayed at the Beach Club for 3 nights (11/21-11/24). We were put in room #2543--full balcony (with large tree blocking view!). The location worked for us--it was right above the quiet pool and near the walkway to Epcot and Boardwalk. I would have liked to have more of a view--but we also had some privacy too!

It was nice to have a daybed (the kids didn't have to share a bed). I liked the resort and thought the location was great! We didn't use the Stormalong Bay area much (only once!), but that was ok...Beaches and Cream was great.

I was able to meet the greeter that everyone talks about (Art)--I did my first-ever pin-trade with him! He was so nice! We would definitely go back to the Beach Club again! Thanks to all of you on the boards for the info--it really helped me to plan our 1st trip to WDW!

Sue:)
