Thanks for the answer guys. I know Poly has one and I was hoping BC would as well so I could bring my little gel packs to keep our water colder. :)

you might call and ask the hotel...I requested a fridge/freezer (before they were standard) to store breastmilk..it worked perfect!

Hi! We have stayed at BC before but not YC and will be at YC for 3 nights in August in a GVC room. Can anyone tell me some specifics on the food offerings? Also, what kind of views have people had? Thanks so much - we are very excited for our stay! :)

Hi everyone:

We just booked the Beach Club for a quick 3 night trip over labor day. Is there anything special about the resort I should know?

We reserved a Deluxe Club room with an AP discount so I am excited. Does anyone have pictures of these rooms? I would love to know what makes them deluxe.

Thanks,
Lyn

Princess4rule, here are some specifics on the lounge offerings:

6:30am - 7am ~ coffee service is available just outside the lounge
7:00am - 10:30am ~ lounge opens with contintental breakfast, items include donuts, pastry, bagels, fruit, yogurt, cold cereals
11:00am - 4:00pm ~ lounge is open with bowls of snacks, included nuts, goldfish crackers, gummy worms, chocolate pudding packs, pb&j uncrustable sandwiches
5pm - 7pm ~ lounge is open with appetizer service, sliced vegetables, cheese & crackers, hot soup (rotates) and hot appetizer (rotates)
8pm - 10pm ~ lounge is open with assorted cordials and trays of mini desserts

On the side board, you'll find assorted drinks out and underneath is the fridge which has sodas and beer. The lounge itself is very small, with pretty limited seating. You may have to plan on bringing some things back to your room to eat. There is a balcony, with one or two tables, but the view is overlooking the parking lot.

lynr, here's the room layout for the deluxe rooms at the YC/BC, it's basically just a room with more square footage.

To see pictures, you might want to try this link, http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/aspx/pix.aspx?curUrl=ShowAll&resId=BC&resort. Photos, 3, 4, 5 & 6 are of a deluxe room setup and a little further down (25, 26 & 27), you can see photos of the concierge lounge at the BC.

Does anyone happen to have a picture of the smaller slide at SAB? I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Thanks!

The Beach Club Deluxe room is not exactly as this picture. Sorry wish I had pictures I could post. When you enter the room there is a small foyer area. Then as you enter the bathroom is on your right and a dresser is on your left. past the dresser is the sliding door for the balcony (we had a very oversized balcony on the 4th floor deluxe room), then another dresser w/ television is past the doors. Then there is a little alcove w/ window where the daybed is, the queen beds and bathroom are in the same position as the pictured layout, there is also a closet next to the sinks. We love the deluxe room at the Beach Club and would have booked again had it been available for our dates. The walk to the concierge lounge on the 5th floor is a little long, but the oversized room and balcony surely make up for the walk!

Below is the layout for the Beach Club....the Deluxe rooms are 1557, 2557, 3557 and 4557. Have fun!

Yes, I have that layout as well, I just haven't uploaded it yet to my website. They're basically the same square footage, with the overall layout a little bit different. The pictures I linked were of the BC deluxe, so you can see all the details there.

I would love to see a layout for the Beach Club Deluxe room. Many people have asked before and it is hard to explain, it is a great room. We purposely picked it over the Concierge Water View Room that was supposedly smaller than the standard concierge rooms due to the ceilings. Thought I would share my knowledge of the room as we have had the opportunity to stay in one.

TammiMcMan & HockeyMomR:

Thanks for the information. Pictures of the Beach Club rooms are really hard to find. I guess I will have to post some when I come back.

I know there is very little info esp. on the Deluxe room at the Beach. The 4th floor deluxe room does not have the window looking out toward Crescent Lake as the other Deluxe rooms do, but I think the balcony is really the best, it faces the quiet pool, you can see some of the higher Illuminations fireworks and I think the balcony is double the size of the other full size balconies at the Beach Club. I think the Deluxe rooms on floor 2 & 3 do not have the same balcony and of course the first floor deluxe room has a nice patio. Have a great time!

Thanks Tammi! I forgot you are a YC expert as well as a GF expert!!:thumbsup2
How do the food offerings compare to GF RPC. We are admittedly a little spoiled staying over there all the time! Are there appetizers at YC from 5 - 7pm and desserts from 8-10pm?

Thanks so much for your help!

All of the pictures I've seen of BC rooms have daybeds in them and they don't seem to have a table/chairs/eating area ??
If I request a room without a daybed will it have table & chairs ?? We eat breakfast in the room a lot so I'd probably rather have that over the daybed if it's one or the other.
Also, I don't see a lot of drawer space - am I missing something ?? How does the size compare with the mods ??

Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!

We have always had a daybed and a desk and chair w/ roll out table underneath the desk. There is drawer space in the furniture piece with the television. Also, the most amount of drawer space is in a tall dresser in the entry of the room with 4 drawers. Plenty of drawer space for our family of 4.

Yes there are appetizers at the YC between 5 and 7 and mini desserts from 8 til 10. As far as comparing it to the GF, it's not even close. If you ranked them on a scale of 1-10, with the GF being a 10, I'd put the YC at about a 4 or 5. Definitely don't go expecting it be anything like the GF, or you'll be very disappointed.

Thank you for the honest answer,Tammi! This is a short trip, so I don't think we will be in the lounge much, except for breakfast and mabye snacks and drinks in the afternoon!

Wow. This thread was buried!

Hey all! Just moved from AKL to BC for 8/19 to 8/25!:cool1: Some people are upset about moving, but we are pumped about SAB:banana: , we didn't even know anything like that existed prior to today!:thumbsup2 I'm making my way through the thread:surfweb:...hoping the info is up to date, because the early posts are very old.:confused3

Do some of the rooms really have double beds?:scared1:

I'm trying to figure out what breakfast options we have because we are planning some early mornings where we want to get out and get going, so something to eat on the run to tide us over to an early lunch. Can you buy a box of donuts at the gift shop?

Yes, you can get donuts in the Marketplace...and cereal, and pop tarts, and oatmeal, etc.

You made a REALLY good choice to move....you don't know how much you are going to LOVE it!!!
