Did you request a full balcony when you placed your ressie? I am wondering if I should put some requests in, or just leave it alone. We will be fine with whatever (just have a standard room booked). Last year we had a view of the ac unit and the Dolphin and we were still good lol.

We are also booked with a standard view this year (have always booked water view, hope we won't be disappointed), I requested close to the lobby, first or second floor (knowing a majority of second floor rooms have full balconies) and a day bed.

In the past I have made my requests at time of booking and been successful. Several years ago when we stayed at the Yacht Club, I did send a fax, however, my understanding is that now faxes are not accepted.

One more question ... my husband asked me today if we would still be able to get turn down service like AKL? We are not staying in concierge but we can request it right?

I am pretty sure that this is a service you can request at all Deluxe level resorts. I know you can at WL.

Thanks for the info MNRMommy that is what we thought I just wanted to check.
Are you suppoesed to leave a tip for turn down service? TIA
Yes I believe so ... we are leaving the same amount each day that we are leaving for mousekeeping. DH really likes the idea of turn down though and I have to agree ... just a little more magic for the kids kwim? :goodvibes

Call mousekeeping for turndown..and I leave the tip on the sink with the Mousekeeping name card on top of the money so they know it is intended for them

subscribing, We just booked the yatch club for dec, And loved reading all the prior post.We are so looking forward to this trip:dance3:

Booked a Yacht Club concierge level 2-bedroom suite online. I called to check what I'd booked and it's NOT the turret 2-BR suite (looks so appealing but not available). It's a little more expensive than the turret, a king in each room rather than 2 queens. Not the Vice Presidential or anything like that. THERE ARE NO PICTURES OF THESE GENERIC 2-BR SUITES ANYWHERE - CAN ANYONE HELP?

I want to be sure the suite is special since it is my parents first WDW trip; it took several years to get them to agree to come along.

You might want to try this thread:

There might be something there. Good luck.

I thought I'd share a story with the BC/YC gang (by the way, "where have all the posters gone...long time passing?")

There was another thread started by a person who wanted advice on a Standard Room she had booked at the BC in August, and even though we've never stayed there I felt able to advise her, since I'd done my research when we were planning a spring weekend BC trip that we had to cancel.

At this point, my wife and I had planned an anniversary stay at the Swan for 5 nights starting Aug. 9. The last 2 nights were going to be our "splurge" in a Swan Studio Suite. These 2 nights were a replacement for the spring weekend at BC that never happened.

WELL---when I replied to PamNC today offering advice on a BC Standard Room location (though I've never stayed there, I had done all the pre-planning research), I started longing for the BC...and I just replaced our last 2 nights in a Swan Suite with 2 BC nights at the same AAA rate as PamNC's:rotfl2: :cool1:

In my view, if you have to move to a new room anyway, you might as well move (hey, we can WALK if we want) to a new resort. For me, two resorts is double the fun:dance3:

So, anyway, thanks Pam NC...and now I have to go follow my own advice regarding a room request!

Again, I ask...where's the action around here? The BC/YC are such stellar resorts!!! I'm gonna start posting some pics:goodvibes :goodvibes

Update on last weeks's story (this is now officially a soliliquoy!)...what started out as a 2-night splurge at BC after a Swan stay is now all five nights. Woo-hoo:banana:

I get the feeling that most people DON't request a Standard Room "at the Epcot end". Does anyone know (or can anyone guess) what the most "popular" room preference requests are?

I'll be back with pics if this doesn't get this thread going;)

Have you guys heard they are now doing campfires and movies on the beach at night? Haven't seen them myself, but a few friends have told me they are GREAT!!!

Ooh Ooh! Pick me! I think it's a request for a view of Illuminations!

Great guess, but not what I was told by a CM. Anyone else want to try? Hint--I was a little surprised.

Disneyolic- Liverpool! My daughter and husband have lived in 3 different places in the Syracuse area.

I want to guess again since I'm the only one here  ...

How about a view of Spaceship Earth? I am positive it's not a view of the parking lot!

I saw that you were from Oneonta and almost said hi kinda neighbor but got too excited about the question. :lmao: Has your daughter found the "right" spot in the Syracuse area or has she left. I'd love to move to a warmer climate.

Hey, move down south to Oneonta!:lmao:

You and me both...even an "easy" winter like this last one is still WAY too grueling:eek: .

DD, DSIL, and our two grandkids have been in Oneonta for two years now, and will be here for 3 more while my sil gets his Ph.D at Albany. Then they'll be off to either the Philly area (probably) or the Adirondacks (possibly)...and we can move into the retirement home they are renting from us!

Well, you are right about that:goodvibes
OK, enough guesses...the CM said that the most-requested room was one "near (or looking at) Stormalong Bay".

SO...when do you leave for WDW???

I love the Beach Club too :thumbsup2 Funny about the request, this year we are going standard view for the first time (usually we book waterview), so, I did request close to the lobby and a daybed. We have had a waterview near the Epcot end before and stayed in a Deluxe room overlooking the quiet pool (the view of Illuminations was great).
