This Is A Poncho-Free Zone!--May 22-29, 2010 PTR (New PTR!!!! 5/31)

Subbing. Love your purse from last year... where did you get it, it's fabulous. I also loved your girls outfits from last year too, I understand though that you have to start all over and find someone new so I will be going back to page 21 (where I left off) and see if you found someone yet. Do you sell your bows cause they are fantastic as well. Can't wait to read more.

Hi Becky! Just caught up again. Loved all the outfits that you got so far. Funny, I just ordered the Minnie bling hoodie for Lily with an extra discount. I wanted to get the tee shirts to match, but they were sold out. So that was fun to see in your post!

Exciting that you are going to stay at the WL in December! I have been talking to DH about making an ADR for WCC so we can check it out. He's not as big a fan of the menu but I think it would be fun. Besides, Lily and I love our bbq food!

Hee hee!! No, not snowed in yet!! I'm hoping for snow and NOT ice (if anything even happens)!! But I'll be getting a phone call at 5:30 a.m. if they cancel school!!! :scared1:

Snow day here.

What about you guys?

I did talk to A about APs but I'm still confused about them. She said that we wouldn't be able to use the DDP unless everyone in the room purchases at least a 1 day ticket, to turn the "room only" reservation into a "package". And something else to think about is that in May we son't have to pay for Claire but in December we will. I need to talk more to A about it.

I just wanted to weigh in on this as well. When the AP discounts were extended into our dates for last December my TA suggested that I get an AP and we use that discount. The discount more than paid for my AP, so it was really a no brainer. She cancelled the tickets off of our package and had the AP discount applied to our room. We were able to keep the dining plan. Since I was the only one with an AP, I purchased park tickets for Don & boys separately from WDW.

Now, I am booked for May with an AP discounted room and the dining plan, no tickets. So, it is possible to have dining without tickets, but I think that is only if you are a passholder. I'm not surprised that your TA didn't know about this, even the conceirge lady gave me a hard time when I had the boys tickets added to their room keys - she kept telling me that we weren't allowed to have dining without tickets, so I don't think it's widely known.

Hi Becky! I had a few updates to catch up on! That is exciting news that you will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge in December. We stopped by there in October and it was beautiful then, so I am sure it will be fantastic when it is decorated for Christmas.

I was able to get the Disney shirts for the girls at Old Navy on clearance as well. Weren't they a steal!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Heidi

Hey girl!! Just remembered that I did not answer you about my PTR for December (I dont think I did). I am SO sorry if I did not. School is turning out to be a little harder this semester than anticipated. I have to translate Old English into Modern English, so it is like learning a new language :sad2: Had a little time adjusting, but all better now :goodvibes

I will most likely finish my TR before I start my PTR. I am aiming to finish it by the end of Feb. I tried to manage two reports last time and it was too much  I am writing down ideas and info in a journal so I can have some material when I do start. Also, I just emailed the professor for my Methods class...so I am hoping to hear from her today  Will let you know!!!

So sorry all the AP stuff is confusing. From what I gathered before I read the rest of the PTR, the AP is the the way to go if you plan on staying more than 10 days in a given year. The year starts from the time you buy APs (so May if you decide to upgrade while down there or have A switch them before going) and go a full year from there. I think it is great they do not base them off a calendar year.

One of the best things about DIS is getting everyone to explain things when we are shaky. Reading all the responses regarding APs and how they work made it make sense to me!! I hope A and you are able to figure it out and to see if it will make sense for your family! I guess it is one of those things that you have to take family by family. Good luck and I will be looking forward to hearing what you end up doing and how it works out!! :goodvibes

Oh, and one more thing about the APs - I don't know if they are still doing this, but when I picked mine up in December it was good for 15 months instead of 12 :woohoo:

Hi Becky! I've been MIA sorry bout that. Love the cute clothes for the girls. We're definitely upgrading to AP's in May. Since we're going back in November just makes sense. Also, since my brother lives in Orlando I may plan a long weekend around the girls' birthdays. We can stay with him for a few days especially if Joe won't be with us. AP's will make the options wide open for sure. I don't mind driving at all. I used to drive back and forth to Michigan almost every weekend when I first moved down here. :goodvibes

Hope you're enjoying your snow. We are supposed to start getting some any minute now...5-9 inches SUPPOSEDLY...:confused3

Well, as far as I know (and someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), if she is on your reservation and you are booked under a room-only reservation, she should be able to be on the dining plan as well. As for her ticket, I would just get that seperately from Disney, or buy from undercovertourist or mapleleaftickets (both authorized disney ticket sellers and I've used both). The AP rates don't come out too far in advance, so that's the only kicker. I would think for November, AP rates might come out in August/Sept. I'm not sure...there is a site you can pull up historical discount info to see when AP rates have historically been released.

Ok, in looking at that link, it looks like AP rates for travel dates including November/December were released towards the end of July. HTH.

Sara

Thank you for the explanation, Sara. That makes sense! Thank you for the link!! That is very helpful!! :goodvibes

Hey Becky, sorry I haven't been around lately. I have been give out since I went back to work. I could tell I was out of shape from not exercising for 2 months, I have shin splints now :sad2:

Just to weigh in on the APs we are doing the AP rate for May and adding the dining plan. We love having our APs and we will renew them when we go this May.

Hey Dana!! Oh no!! Shin splints are NOT fun!! Thanks for the info on the APs!! :goodvibes

Thanks Stephanie!! That's what I thought about APs as well but didn't realize that other factors went into it as well. It is nice that they don't go by the calendar year!! Yes!! I am so thankful for my DISer friends that help me out and give me great info!! :goodvibes

Hi Leanne!! I know you've been busy!! :goodvibes Thank you!! Oh how nice!! You'll really be able to use your APs to the fullest!! :goodvibes

We are enjoying the snow (and having Brent home today)!! Do you have snow yet?!

Oh how I wish it would snow here...all we have is rain!

We are enjoying it I just hope it all doesn't freeze and make the streets icy!!

They are calling for snow here tonight. But, it never stays long here. It usually just freezes and then we have to deal with power outages. I hope that's not what happens. Hope yall enjoy your time snowed in!! :)

I just saw on another TR, that we'll be at Akershus on the same day within 15 minutes of each other. (That is, if I can drag my bunch out of the bed! ;) )
