This Is A Poncho-Free Zone!--May 22-29, 2010 PTR (New PTR!!!! 5/31)

Actually--just got wrapped up in a TR you sent me! Now..I am REALLY going to look. I will let you know if I find anything good.

I am excited to Cruise and do Hawaii...however...I am sure that would mean skipping out on WDW for a while?? :confused3 Maybe not but, Hawaii for sure would be LOTS more money than a cruise or a week in Disney I am sure. I would like to wait until Aiden is 5 or 6 to go to Hawaii. That way, we could cruise in 2011, Disney World in 2012 AND 2013 to see the NEW Fantasyland :wizard: ...then go on the "big" trip to Hawaii.

Aiden would be more mature to sit on the plane that long and let us experience all there is to do in Hawaii. Also, I would hate to take away the Disney World experience for him while he is really young. They are only that age once, right? So...we will see. I will have to duke it out with my DH. I told him that I would like to be a DVC member before we go. It just makes sense. A little peer pressure never hurt, right

The girls look adorable all bundled up, Becky! Claire's jacket is super cute-- love that hot pink!! They looked like they had so much fun!
I have to laugh, though-- that amount of snow in NY probably wouldn't even warrant a two-hour delay! My freshman year college roommate was from Winston-Salem, N.C. and she was shocked at the amount of snow that can fall in the northeast-- mostly shocked that classes weren't cancelled with 2 inches of snow on the ground! :rotfl:

Ally and Claire are SO cute playing in the snow! They look like they had a blast :goodvibes

I'm really hoping for some snow here in Atlanta! They've been saying on the news we have a chance of some. We too normally only see snow about once a year and wouldn't you know it but it snowed here earlier this month while we were at Disney! So I missed it the first time around :sad1:

Cool!! I will let you know if I find anything as well!! :goodvibes

Oooh--I like your planning!! Definitely going to see the new Fantasyland as well!! That's priority! :thumbsup2 I think you're smart to wait and do Hawaii when Aiden is a little older--it makes total sense!!! :goodvibes What did Chris say when you told him you wanted to be a DVC member?

Thank you Kylie!! They DID have a lot of fun playing in the snow today!! Yes, the South is at a standstill if we see ANY snow!!! :lmao:

Thanks Courtney!! They did have a blast!!

I hope you do get some snow!!! But I think I'd much rather go to WDW than have snow!! Right?! :goodvibes

Thank you so much for the heads up on the Candlelight Package!!! It seems SO amazing. I read about it on allears. I just LOVE the restaurant choices (way more than Fantasmic) and, most important, the reserved seating. It will be so beautiful!!! Is it the same thing as far as 2 table service dinings with the dining plan?

Hope you don't mind me answering this Becky!

We did the CP package during our trip and it is indeed 2 TS credits on the dining plan. IMO it is worth the money to have the reserved seats, at least during the time that we went with the high crowds and everything. I saw people in the standby lines 2 hrs before the first show, I would assume that it's not that bad earlier in the month when it's less crowded, but I'd rather pay the extra money, be assured a seat and not have to waste so much time standing in line :thumbsup2

Thank you SO much for the info :thumbsup2 I agree...we would rather give up a TS then wait in line for 2 hours!!! Yikes!! Again, thanks for the info!! I will have to pick your brain about more Christmas stuff!

I don't mind at all, Michelle!! Thank you!! I had thought that it was 2 TS credits. I agree with you--I'd much rather give up an extra credit to be able to have reserved seats!! I read on several TRs that they also included a reserved seating section for Illuminations this year in the CP package! Totally worth it!! :thumbsup2

Pick away - I'll be glad to share what I know!

We actually saved our 2 TS credits and paid OOP for the CP pkg. I made quite a few extra ADRs, so it was more cost efficient for us to use those credits for 2 other meals. That did limit me on the restaurant choices though as DH wouldn't agree to tier 1 prices OOP......

Becky--

MVMCP will be a BLAST, won't it? I am loving everything I found. I am sure you found the same info...just got it off of allears.net. Here is a loose schedule that I came up with. Since we will be in MK to see the regular wishes during the trip, I am thinking of skipping the holiday Wishes (some people say it is not too different) and ride big rides while it is going on, like Thunder or Dumbo. What do you think :confused3 Worth seeing it? After I researched, I realized that we will watch the light up show, see the play and watch the parade for 2 hours!! The reason I like Big Thunder or Dumbo is that you could watch the fireworks and ride the ride at the same time!!

4:00 Enter and shop for Christmas Mickey hats
Snow on Main Street
Ride rides with little to no wait

5:00 Dinner at LTT

6-6:15 Secure spot for Fairy Godmother Castle light up show

6:30 Fairy light up show

Dance party—Ariel’s Grotto

Treats (hot chocolate, cookies, etc) in Liberty Square or Fantasyland

7:00-7:15 —Katie to secure spot for play and parade

7:45 Play at castle (secure spot for parade to turn around)

8:15 Parade

9:30 Holiday Wishes—(could skip and ride big rides like Thunder or Dumbo while crowds are busy)

9:55 Belle’s Enchanted Christmas

Characters in fantasyland

That is all I have for now. I am SURE it will change. I dont know if I ever told you, but our experience at LTT was AMAZING!!!!! Cant wait to post about it. We def. would love to have holiday dinner here during MVMCP.

---To answer your DVC question--

Chris' brother has been a member for 3 years now. He goes to Disney about 3 times a year. His home resort is AKL. I am almost positive we would choose WL at this point. He has always wanted us to join, and we do too!!! I dont know if right now is the time. I think Chris had talked about going on a DVC tour when we stay at the Poly for a few days before our cruise in May 2011. With Adventures by Disney and the Hawaii Resort..it would be worth it for vacations to come, even when the kids get older. Also, Angela had told me that usually when you go on a DVC tour, they give you a $100 gift card. That would be nice ;) What about you?? I am sure you think about it too!!!

The reserved section for Illuminations wasn't seating, it was just an area that was roped off, standing room only. It was a large area, but certainly not big enough to hold 3 shows worth of CP pkg people. We didn't end up using that benefit, you'd have to get there pretty early I would imagine to be close enough to the front to get a good view.

Oooh--interesting!! Definitely something to consider, huh?! Thanks for sharing that option, Michelle!! :goodvibes

I cannot wait for MVMCP!!! Oooh--I like how you think! And I REALLY like your schedule--it looks GREAT! I like your idea of seeing Holiday Wishes from nearby rides--that's smart!! Oooh--can't wait to hear about LTT--glad to hear you had a GREAT experience! There were characters there when you went, right? B/c CP was renovating?

Oh wow!! How nice!! Brent's cousin is a DVC member as well. He went to WGW on his honeymoon and goes at least once a year--they went on a cruise last year and were able to book a room at DL during the week of the National Championship Game!! I've definitely thought about it but have never discussed it seriously with Brent. He would want to see numbers.

Oh--ok!! I wasn't sure--thanks for the info!! Yeah--you probably wouldn't want to waste time getting there early to sit and wait for awhile!

OK--last post before bed!! haha

The numbers are what Chris wants to see, too. No one can give you a direct answer about that. I had searched "DVC Costs" or something on google before. I ended up finding something that was helpful, but I will have to go search. I do not think that you get much savings at first, but over time, the discounts start to kick in. My argument was that when the kids are older, and we travel overseas, etc. the vacations will be more expensive. Hopefully, we would get some sort of rate cut from DVC. But I am totally confused about the whole thing. There is a nice DVC area in the WL lobby to go talk to someone. I think I saw one at Poly too. Chris said he would go collect info on our Dec. trip, then we would tour a villa on our May trip in 2011.

Cute pictures. Oh my that's hilarious, there is hardly any snow. School was canceled for that.:scared1: Boy, we'd never have school around here then.:rotfl2:

Hee hee!! I'm the only one awake at my house!! :goodvibes We slept in late this morning so I'm not even tired right now!!

Oh, I see. I haven't researched it too heavily yet. I wasn't even thinking about DVC on our last trip so I didn't even notice a DVC area. I'll have to be sure and look when we're there in May! :goodvibes

I know, I know!!! :lmao: A few weeks ago school was cancelled and we only had a light dusting of snow--you could still see the grass and there was nothing on the roads! It was crazy!!!

Hi Becky,
I love the snow pics of the girls, too cute! You got a good amount of snow compared to us over here. We have about an inch of snow. I see you are starting to plan your trip for the Christmas season  November is my favorite month in Disney because the Christmas decor is up and it's usually warm enough to swim. December was nice but cold on our trip and that the first week of December. Then again no guarantees on weather in FL, look at last May :scared:.

Nichole

The snow pics of the girls are super cute! I know how exciting it can be to get snow when it comes so rarely. Feel free to come and take some of ours any time you want. ;)

ready to play

We didn't get much more than that in our neighborhood, but I think we probably got the least of anyone around here. From the pictures I've seen on FB from church and school friends, their yards and streets look worse than ours.

Very cute pictures of the girls at play. Thanks for sharing. :)
