Howdy Mayers!

I've been working on getting my dining finished. I have brought in some things to see how I like them this weekend. I am confused about two different sconces. I'll have to make up my mind which I like.

I've been working on my cruise as well. I got DH's passport renewal mailed out on Wednesday. I had completed his paper work and sent it with him to work. Well on Wednesday I asked him to bring it back home as it hadn't been mailed yet. So Thursday I got that in the mail.

I booked an excursion for Cozumel:

Nochi Cocum Beach Club

Cozumel_Beach_Break_2.jpg

It's a private beach club that only allows 100 people on their beach a day. Since either 5 or 6 cruise ships will be in port at Cozumel that day. I thought it would be nice to get away from the masses of people. If each ship is booked to capacity that could be 15,000 people in port. :scared1:

I also booked for Costa Maya.

I booked an excursion called the Mayan Experience. You visit the Mayan Ruins and then have an authenic Mayan meal with a Mayan family.

Here is a lady cooking tortillias! Doesn't that look fun. DH is worried we will get sick eating their food. :confused3

I think it sounds fun.

I also purchased trip insurance. I have researched the heck out of it. I hope I made a good choice.

Well, have a great weekend everyone!!!

Man, now you are confusing me - we might have send this code back for revision and study.

It is vital that all of the "codes" would be properly understood so that appropriate response is executed when a code alert is made.

I expect a full report from you by Monday Jo.

Morning MAYers!

We are digging ourselves out of nearly a foot of snow from overnight. Some of that DC storm came our way. We probably have 9+ inches. They got even more in Pittsburgh. And who knows what they ended up with in the DC/MD area. Hope you are okay Kim!

Wow Shelly! You guys got some snow too! I'm estimating we're a little over 2ft at this point. Em couldn't walk in it. It's up to the lower part of my knee and still falling! It is pretty though. So far so good with the power staying on.

I just took the first tray of chocolate chip cookies out of the oven and the kids are munching on them while watching Robin Hood. DH and I are going to get a start on our taxes this afternoon.

Wow 2 feet :scared1: But I guess it's better than the 3 feet you could have got!

We made chocolate chip cookies last night after the snow started! Guess it's just a chocolate chip cookie kind of weekend! :rotfl: Ours are over half gone already!

So glad you didn't lose power. Good luck with your taxes. I did ours a few weeks ago and we got our refund already!

Should have clarified that it's about 2 ft and STILL coming down until about 7pm tonight. :scared1:

Our cookies are almost gone too. Not to worry I have ingredients for more or rice crispy treats or smores. We will definitely not be running out of junk food anytime soon.

So far so good for the taxes...gotta pay this trip off and hopefully start stashing some for the next one. :goodvibes

Hey NC! Great excursions! Having dinner with a Mayan family sounds like fun. I wouldn't be worried about getting sick, just make sure that you don't eat the tortillas that fall on to the ground. LOL! BTW, there were 7 ships in Cozumel the day were were there and it didn't feel overcrowded at all. Looks at an awesome time!

Hi Kim and Shelly - you have snow and we have rain today. It rained all night and this morning so far. No cookies for us yet. Just bagels, coffee and tea.

Morning! It's a frozen tundra here! We got 22 inches over the 36 hours! :scared1:

Luckily for us, it was the weekend and I haven't even thought of leaving my house since Friday at 6pm when I walked in the door from work. :rotfl:

Ugh. I am SOOO not a snow person. :sad2:

Afternoon MAYers!

Wow RF you got a lot more snow than us. I think we ended up with about a foot.

How much more did you get Kim? :scared:

We went to Church the morning. And now the kids are out playing in the snow. We are supposed to go to a neighbor's superbowl party later.

That's about it here. Hope everyone else is enjoying their weekend! :goodvibes

More snow! :scared1:

We are getting ready to watch the super bowl over here!

Happy Monday everyone!

We ended up getting a little over 2 ft...I think. It's hard to tell since the wind was blowing it into drifts. I don't even want to talk about the next storm that is coming tomorrow evening and supposed to bring us another 6-12 inch
es.

RF- It sounds like you got the brunt of the storm too! Hope you're staying warm!

NC- Right about now I'd like to be eating tortillas with a Mayan family. :cloud9:

Good Morning MAYers!

Snow day here. It's very pretty and it's actual snow NOT ice, which you know is what we usually get. The temp is hovering right at 32. We are supposed to get rain later in the day, so bye bye snow.

Kim, I just could not imagine ALL the snow you guys have. It looks nightmarish on the Today Show.

I would love to be having a tortillia with the Mayans right about now too! Anyone care to join me?

No snow day for us today- but I'm fully expecting it to be cancelled soon.

Morning, BTW.:lmao:

Sorry NC- I just don't think with my germaphobe ways I could eat the tortillas with the fam. I'll take a bottled water. I hope you guys don't come down with Montezuma's revenge.

(Sorrrrrry- i don't want to be the one to poop on your tortilla party it's just my Quirky ways.):flower3:

Good morning MAYers!

Yep NC, I'll come to your Mayan tortilla party! :cool1: How do you like that tortilla party pooper JO???

No cancellations here. Unfortunately a foot of snow around here is no big deal! They had the roads cleared by noon Saturday. We are supposed to get more snow Tues & Wed I think. That's what I hear anyway. I haven't looked into it. I guess I figure if I ignore it it won't happen! :rotfl:

I'll post some snow pics when I get them loaded.

Good Morning!!!!!

4 days till the opening ceremonies, and the olympic flame reaches Vancouver today!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7v0o27BPIIk

This is a little video of Canada's torch relay. It's very heart warming for me, and very Canadian. Check out everyone's red mittens, we all have many pairs here. ;)

:lmao:

Okay I have good reason to be a tortilla party pooper and I wasn't gonna tell the story.... but you know me and stories-- we go hand in hand. Y'all may have heard it once before----:rotfl2:

Close your ears NC.....:lmao:

When we went to Cabo San Lucas in 2005 we went to dinner at a local restaurant that is very well known there. It's whre the locals dine and is a big draw for tourists b/c it is the real deal.
So we ate dinner and it was pretty good- I had some tortilla something another. Afterwards I had to go to the bathroom- Mark walked me to the bathroom and waited on me. When I went in, of course the whole city has very little water and awful septic systems and posts on the bathroom doors- "If it's mellow, let it yellow, if it's brown, flush it down.":scared:

And of course they had a trash can for you to throw your TP into instead of flushing it.:rolleyes1

I was, of course, grossed out beyond comprehension, and went to wash my hands. No soap. It looked like soap had never even been placed in that dispenser. Ever.
I came out completely grossed out and of course when I walked out, there was Mama Tortilla hand making the tortillas right next to the old poopy spot. I'm sure she'd been to the bathroom once or twice on her shift without washing her hands.

I had to have a shot of tequilla to kill the germs in my gut.

So no--- NC, I won't be eating Mama's poopy tortillas with you. I am indeed the Party POOPER.
