I’m considering finally getting Shokz as my AirPods are getting sweatier and sweatier during my long runs. But I’m worried about comfort since I wear a visor and sunglasses. Does anyone else wear a hat/visor and sunglasses with Shokz and how is the comfort level?

Never had a problem and I always wear a visor and sunglasses. It's more of a problem in winter with my fleece hat but I make it work. I love my Shokz!

Microspikes make packed snow runnable, but you'll be slower than usual.

I do have spikes, but I don't choose to run in the snow anymore unless it's light, fluffy snow. The hard packed stuff is just too hard/unstable on my ankles.

Brooks rD shoes are up online! The weekend designs are EXTREMELY limited sizes -- I think these are legit the leftovers from the expo. I thought I'd pick up the purple ones for park wear, but nothing even close to my size is available.

I have Shokz Open Run Pro 2's, the regular size. It's possible, though I don't think likely, that I should've gotten the smaller size.

When I wear a hat it actually helps the Shokz stay on better because I wedge the part of the Shokz behind my ears onto the back part of the hat that you adjust for the hat size. The slight change of angle of the Shokz makes the sound better / louder. This only really matters if there's a lot of external noise.

How quickly have the shoes gone at the expos? I know MW will be the first time for the shoes so hard to tell. I doubt I'll be at expo until after the Friday meetup this year.

No interference with a hat at all, and being folically challenged, I'm almost always wearing at hat.
The temple pieces of my sunglasses sit on my Shokz; again, it is a non-event. Love my Shokz for running; they are the best audio solution for me, by far.

A half and 10K at Dollywood?! I'm in!
If you haven't been, Dollywood is a very nice place to visit. The first time the DW and I went to visit just happened to be the one weekend that she visits, so seeing Dolly up close was a treat. The employees all spoke very highly of "Miss Dolly", as they call her. Very clean park and most everyone is polite, and gotta love the fresh mountain air. The views from their Soaring Eagle roller coaster are awesome. So is seeing all the bald eagles in their rescue habitat. Race is April 2026

How quickly have the shoes gone at the expos? I know MW will be the first time for the shoes so hard to tell. I doubt I'll be at expo until after the Friday meetup this year.

They've only had the Brooks shoes for two race weekends so far, so we're making assumptions that they'll continue what they've been doing. After SS, iirc they were online Monday night or Tuesday. For this race, it was Wednesday night. Brooks is quite literally posting the remaining stock from the expo, so my guess is it goes up as soon as they are able to verify inventory and move that stock to a distribution center. I'd expect for MW it would be within a week after the marathon. They did give a date the day before they went up, but not a time. I checked periodically through the day and happened to catch the launch. They do send an email, but by the time I got mine, they had been up for 10 minutes and a good amount of stock was already gone.

A run in Dollywood would be fun. But those hills, oof. Those wear me out walking around the park.

Just read that Boston Marathon is going to adjust marathon times of qualifiers who run net downhill races. Starting in ‘27, people who run races with net downhill between 1500-2999 feet will have 5 minutes added to their time and those races 3000-6000 feet will have 10 minutes added. As a datapoint, Boston is net 460 downhill.

So choose your race wisely or run it faster!

Tucson marathon adjusted its course to make sure it fell under the 1500 feet this year.

Did my first run in my Saucony Hurricanes and really liked them! It was only 3 miles so I'll do a few more next week before my 20 miler on the 21st really puts them to the test.
