2 years ago, DH and I were on a cruise to the Baltics, and the highlight for us was to be the stop in Poland, the land of our ancestors. The two weeks leading up to the cruise were just not filled with the same excitement that any of our upcoming trips to WDW generate.
Maybe it was more the "unknown." I didn't know much about the history of the Scandanavian countries, never really wanted to see St. Peterburg (and I did know about Russian History) , or Estonia. However, that trip was wonderful! I did buy some internet time, and even checked the Disboards from the Emerald Princess
...but it was one of the best trips DH and I have ever been on.
Have fun!

I enjoyed Florence and definitely be careful of children running up to you and pick pockets, keep info inside your shirts. Pompeii is fantastic and the journey there is fun, too. The artwork is amazing and a memory you will have for a lifetime. Be very fearful of the Roman Cab Driver--he will scare the hell out you

.....LITERALLY...... for this Disney World vet. We have never cruised so a newbie I am.
