Today we slept in! It was a much needed experience! We usually get up around 7:30 and head out around 8:15. Today I couldn't get moving until 9ish, so I got up, showered, and we left the room around 9:45ish. We had fun being silly, making up stupid words in the room and just generally having a slow morning. It was nice not to stress that the lines were building at the park.
The hotel from the bus stop.
We headed to Animal Kingdom and rode our favorite rides - twice on Everest by 11:30. Next was Dinosaur, which was scary since it stopped temporarily by the terrifying dinosaur where they take your picture. Then we saw Divine in Harambe village; I'd never seen her here before (usually see her on the bridge between Asia and Africa where the Photopass guy waits to get your picture in front of the Tree of Life.
We went to get lunch at Pizzafari. I remarked to my sister that it was such a relaxing day! It was only about 59 again, so the park was pretty light in terms of crowds. We were able to wander, meander, stroll, and every other non-hurried verb you can think of!
We went on KS and saw lots of animals, thanks to the cooler temperatures.
This guy was feeding the birds as we drove by.
I'd never seen the hippos out of the water before!
My favorites!
The elephants were in clear view today, even the babies!
Our driver was great - probably the best we'd ever had on the ride in 10 years of Disney trips! Very into it but also joked a lot and seemed to genuinely enjoy her job. I asked to get her picture!
On the way out, the sun was hitting right, so I got a good picture of the ToL.
We came back to the room this afternoon and got some shots of the water in front of the Boardwalk (what's that lake called)?
This is a chair in the lobby. Miss hates it; it is kind of creepy!
I wanted to go to the pool so we can say we swam this trip. We started in the hot tub, got in the pool for a while, and then back in the hot tub. We were only out there about 20 minutes, but it was worth it to me!
Notice the lifeguard all bundled up?
I figured I'd try to stay warm after getting in the pool. Clearly my pool cover-up was doing the trick!
Now we're resting in the room before we head out to dinner. It's been a great day; Disney this time of year, while cold, is so nice because of the low crowds and the leisurely pace! Tonight we're headed to Cape May Clam Bake. I've wanted to try it for a while, so it should be good!
Tomorrow is Magic Kingdom and Teppan Edo for dinner - yum!
