Ugh! I have 17 months to go. :( I appreciate all you have put into this thread Magicinmyheart - it has helped me a great deal.

I'm so glad the thread is helping you, we'll be here for the next 17 months so don't worry, you can always drop by and get a quick fix.
Try and not think about how long it is...just think of it as an extended planning period. Read all the reviews and trip reports so you will be ready next year. I'll be seeing you.

We are staying at WL for 10 days in July, then transferring to the Disney Cruise Line. My question is.....does anyone know what time the Disney bus arrives and takes you to the port? Is it an early transfer, or will we be kicking up our heels hanging around waiting for the transfer?
Just planning ahead!!
Thanks

Bumping....I'd love to know the answer too! ::yes::

Thanks for the information on Suite 5000 I added the view information of the Castle and Wishes to the first page post #2 under Deluxe Room located in the North Wing:

Sounds like you had a great trip, we love all photos so don't be afraid too share.

OK, I called Disney Cruise Line 800-951-3532 and spoke with a Cast Member she said they do have a pick-up at Wilderness Lodge and it leaves at 11:45am. As sailing days and times vary she said pick-up times may also vary, so if you have your cruise dates please verify the pick-up time for your cruise with DCL.

Room request - inner courtyard, close to lobby (does this sound okay ? )

Minnie
Your request sounds great, I would request Inner Courtyard off the Lobby 4th or 5th floor. I love those Bear Face Rooms. :rotfl2:

Just found this great thread!! Thanks for the great information.

We are staying at the Villas (thru DVC points) for the first time this Oct. 3 and 4th.

I reviewed the first page for the rooms etc. but have a question on the villas. I saw a lot of info for the Lodge, but is there information on room views etc in this thread. I was hoping someone could direct me instead of me reading all 89 pages. :cool1:

I did print off the pdf map of the villas.

Thanks.

There's no need to read all 89 pages just ask your questions. Most of the questions we receive are about the Lodge but I am a DVC owner at the Villas so maybe able to help.

Most of the views over at the Villas are of wooded areas, there are a very few rooms that overlook Hidden Springs Pool, and there are a few Studios down at the end of the south hallway that overlook part of a service area.

When I book I request near the elevator, thats it. I'm more concerned about the long hallway than the view because they are all relaxing.

You helped with great information when I asked about rooms without blocked light - a need due to MS. Today I was wondering about 1st fl rooms in the inner courtyard - think any of those might fit our needs? i.e. as much as light as possible, esp since WL rooms are so dark.

Have tried to read all through this fantastic thread, but think I forget as much as I read! ;)

Thanks ever so much!

The first floor rooms might work for you but I thought the possible noise from the pool might not be the best. The first floor rooms may have trees blocking the sunlight. :confused3

If I were you I think I would take a minute before I check-in and walk out by the pool area and check out which rooms may be blocked either by the building or the tress. I would do this for you but your trip is before mine.

Thanks so much, Beckie. Sounds like the other rooms you told me about would work best - at least be the safest light wise

Our room will be blocked by special needs/request before we arrive, so the more I am able to tell them, the better. They have been wonderful to us!

Thanks again

MAGICinMYHEART,

Thank you for all the WL information. I've read through this thread so many times preparing for our first WL stay, and I'm hoping you won't be annoyed by one more "what should we request" question!:goodvibes

We have a deluxe room booked, and I requested "courtyard". Should I have asked for "inner courtyard"? I looked at the WL room map, but from the shape of the rooms I only see deluxe rooms at the very ends, the 000 rooms. They look fine, but are they close to the club lounge? Also, I know there are deluxe rooms that are more center of the courtyard, but on the map, they don't seem to be shaped the same way as the ones on the ends.

Also, I'd prefer a balcony without the solid wall, and I think I read that those are the ones in the inner courtyard?

I know I sound obsessed, but I have 6 months to wait, and the planning is part of the fun.

Thank you to all who can help!

Don't worry about it, not sure if you remember but when I posted the information with the link to the map Wilderness Lodge Room #'s and Locations, I did post that the map does have a few errors but for general locations it is good. (Thank you Ronald Duck)

Deluxe Room Inner Courtyard Views:
Five of these rooms are located mid-way down the South Wing and have a beautiful view of the inner courtyard. They are located just around the corner from the mid-way elevators so access to the 7th floor will be very covenant. The room #’s would be 2123, 3123, 4123, 5123 and 6123. Rooms 2123 and 3123, due to the design of the building these rooms have brick on the balcony railing so you can not see out unless you are standing up.

The deluxe rooms on floors 4, 5 and 6 should have open balconies.

These would be rooms 4123, 5123 and 6123 if you look at the map Ronald Duck does have an odd space next to room # 123 he didn't know that these were in fact Deluxe Rooms.

To try and receive one of these rooms I would request:
Deluxe Room Inner Courtyard near the elevator on floors 4, 5 or 6.

Remember this is only a request.

Okay all you WL Veterans. If you were requesting a standard view room where would you request and why. I usually do not request a certain area, just wandering if some are better than others.

I would like to be close to the lobby and stuff if possible, and would love to be able to see MK fireworks from our room if any standard rooms provide this.

MinnieNurse

If you really rather have a possible view of the fireworks then you should request North Wing 6th or 5th floor.

I see from your ticker that you will be at the Lodge during the Holidays, so if it was me I would request South side of the Lodge 4th floor off the Lobby. There are nine standard view rooms off the Lobby, the views from the balcony are just rooftops but with all the decorations outside your room door you would have a seven story Christmas Tree there each time you come in or go out.
