We were booked in a Woodsview bunkbeds but because of the GP discount that just came out we switched over to the Villas, the cm told dh 1 bedroom studio, I'm assuming she meant studio w/out the additional bedroom:confused3 I'll have to call back and see. I knew what view type I was hoping for w/ the woodsview but now I need to go back and read up on all the Villas info. We ended up saving $441.

Doe's Anyone Know If All The Deluxe Rooms On The 6th Floor Overlook The Bay Lake & The Courtyard:confused3 :confused3 Also Do These Deluxe Rooms Have The Open Balcony's??

Thanks So Much For Any Help

From what I can make out..the 6th floor has open balconies and the deluxe rooms can have a woods view or courtyard view. The deluxe rooms are at the end of each wing so your view will depend on if you are in the north or south wing.

There is only one Deluxe Room on the 6th floor it is located halfway down the South Wing near the elevator and has a Inner Courtyard View you would also be able to see Bay Lake as all the Inner Courtyard rooms lookout toward Bay Lake.

If you look at the photo above the rooms on the left on the very corner are the Deluxe rooms. The Presidential Suite is located on the top floor which is the 7th floor it was Green wooden slats in the railing, not the bars as most of the open balconies have. Then the one Deluxe Room which is just under the Presidential Suite also has the Green wooden slats.

I hope this made since, and that you were able to locate the rooms in the photo.
Beckie

Posting this additional photo because it shows the Green wooden slats and room better.

ThankYou:goodvibes :goodvibes

You know, we really enjoy a lot of the resorts - and my favorite is usually whichever deluxe I just stayed in :) BUT , and I hope I don't get flamed for this...but... :)

The members on this thread, or any WL thread, are the warmest and friendliest of all. My friend and I were talking about it the other day - we're going down in August with her 2 yr old and it's been more fun reading this thread since we decided to stay at WL.

It's because of the regulars, esp. Beckie, who keep the info updated and always reply with answers to any questions - all of you set the tone for this thread and it is wonderful! :)

So thank you ever so much for making this a delightful place to hang out!!

I wholeheartedly agree! The info here is always right on the money and everyone has always welcomed me with open arms. I think it may be the kind of people the Wilderness Lodge attracts in general. I think if you are a laid back person who likes a down home type of enviornment than the Wilderness Lodge is your type of resort. Those are my kind of people!

Exactly!! :goodvibes

(though sure do love the pretty floral GF rooms too ;) )

This was one of the first threads I posted on when I became a DIS member, FloridaCat aka Roy Carr had a way of Welcoming Everyone that posted on the original threads.

This Thread is dedicated to him and his memory so whenever I have read a question for the 5000th time I remember FloridaCat and the way he tried to make everyone feel welcomed. I enjoy getting to know other DIS members that enjoy the Lodge as much as I do.

I know that everyone appreciates the information, all we want is to make sure our families have a wonderful trip.

Like Burberryplaid said we're just more laid back.

Beckie

Beckie, I read the dedication of this thread ~ Roy would be very happy, especially the way you've carried on in his honor.

When I think of all the years we hesitated to stay at WL ... we already feel at home.

Now if only we can remember to pat that nose!!::yes::

I don't post a lot on the DIS, mainly lurk :cool2: but I just wanted to say that your statement right there marks one of the big differences I've noticed with this thread. The other day I saw someone, can't remember who, tell another person not to worry about reading through ALL the pages of this thread to just ask their question. That is so different from so many FAQ threads. And I think it shows just how different the people on this thread are.:goodvibes

We'll be at WL for the first time in less than a month and I can't wait. All the info & advice in this thread has really helped me tremendously. Thank you all for continuing to make this thread so friendly & helpful.

This thread is great!!! I do agree, it defintely has a friendly feeling to it. We are going in December of 2009 to the Lodge, and I cannot wait for the rates to come out so I can at least book. Although, I am not to sure what to book with all of the different room options. We will be traveling with my husband, and two daughters who will be 3 1/2 and 6 at the time, and my mom and dad. I will more than likely have to go back and read the room info again soon, as I am hoping that the rates for 2009 will be announced soon. I keep bugging my poor travel agent over at DU!! :):) :goodvibes :goodvibes

I was reading on the 1st page about something called the Magic Cookie Hour...does anyone have anymore info on this like what days, times, cost?? Also I want to suprise my husband when we go by renting a boat or a sea raycer or something, can I call ahead of time to schedule? I will not need the rental until later in the afternoon but I dont want to wait until the last minute and have nothing be available :confused3
Jennifer

I've been a long time lurker on this thread also, but never posted before. VWL is our DVC home resort and I'm sooooooo happy that it is. We love the VWL! I agree with the previous posters who talked about what a great thread and a great group of people this is. If I don't learn something new every time I visit, I at least get my WL fix that I need to keep me going until my next trip home. And everyone is always so friendly. A big thank you to everyone who contributes here. We're going back in Dec and I can't wait!:cool1:

My question is: Which of the resort activities have you or your children done and how did you like them? My kids will be 5 and almost 2 on our next trip and I'm hoping we can fit in more time at the WL this trip.

Thanks
Molly

The Magic Cookie Hours is between 2:00pm-3:00pm everyday at Roaring Fork there is no cost, free to all guest.

As far as the boat rentals go I have always just walked down to the Teton Boat & Bike Rental Marina and just rented whatever we wanted. You may be able to call the marina to reserve a larger boat but the Sea Raycers are first come first serve. Remember Boat Rentals are 10:00a.m.-5:00p.m. (Last boat rental at 4:45PM) Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon close at 5:00PM.

Thank you for the Magic Cookie Hours info! Somehow I missed that on the front page. That sounds like fun. We will be sure to check it out on our next trip there in October. Thanks!

Hi everyone!

I am so excited, I just booked the WL for December 13-17 and am hoping for a PIN:goodvibes. I have consistantly read wonderful things about this hotel, especially at Christmas, and am soooo excited.

My main reason for posting is that I booked us for a bunk bed room with the courtyard view...is it worth the upgrade or should I stick with the bunkbed room with woods view instead? What I am thinking is once our kids go to bed my DH and I might sit on the balcony. What do you all think?

I have to get my new counter figured out...sorry about the old halloween one from almost 3 years ago:)

I'm Booked Into A Deluxe Room Over Xmas & Newyear 2008:) I Have Requested The 6th Floor,I Know It's Only A Request & I Have Since Found out That The Bottom Of The Balcony Is Enclosed,Not Sure If I Want That!!! So Has Anyone Stayed In A Deluxe Room On The 5th Floor:confused3 :confused3 If So What Was The View Like??

Thanks So Much For Any Help:goodvibes :goodvibes

Have not done the deluxe but have been on the 6th floor with the partially enclosed balcony and we actually like it better. You have some privacy you do not have with the open one. DH would go out and sit in his boxers with his coffee and love it as no one could see him. You can watch the light parade in your nightie and not worry that you are on parade.

:thumbsup2 ThankYou So Much For Your Input:goodvibes :goodvibes So Maybe Having An Enclosed Balcony Isn't So Bad Afterall:lmao: :lmao:
