NO you can't use this road, it is a cast member only road. There is a jogging path, Bus and Boat that you can take there. If you went to the front of Ft W. you would have to take a bus anyway and it would most likely take longer than catching the bus right from WL.

Hope that helps!

Brian

Thanks. :thumbsup2

He is a Disboards member who is famous for making maps and sharing them here.... A map of the Wilderness Lodge trail seem right up his alley!

I want to know if you can walk from WL to FW too!

There's a trail that goes from WL to FW:

On Google Maps, it looks to be almost exactly one mile from WL to the Pioneer building. I believe there is also a trail along the waters edge as well.

I've read that it is a nice walk, but there is no lighting on the trails at night.

Are there any pictures of the deluxe rooms? I am thinking about that for our proposed trip next Oct.- We havr 4 kids, so either 2 rooms or the deluxe club level. TIA

I have a standard view room booked for 9-11. What are the chances of getting one of the rooms that just has a roof view? I don't want to sit and look at the roof. I booked standard so I don't mind a parking lot view but am worried about getting the roof room. Any idea what my chances are?

Initially, I too was concerned booking my standard view and getting the "roof room". But, since I'm going in December, I've decided I would love that room, just so that every morning when I'd open our front door I would have the perfect view of that gorgeous Christmas tree!! We're only staying 3 nights, so between dining out, parks and running about, there won't be much balcony time anyway. I'd much rather see the lobby tree as much as possible :)

Looks like 9 standard rooms on the 4th floor over the front desk. 39 standard view rooms on the 4-6th floors in the north wing with a view of the loading dock. So you have about a 20% chance.

Hi all! I'm planning my first stay at the WL -- and 3rd solo trip -- for this upcoming January. I have a woods view room booked (with bunks, just because that's all that was available with the GP discount), but will be reassessing when the AP discounts come out. I'm very excited to stay at the WL!

Here's my question: Do any of you have strong feelings about which is better, a regular room or a studio at VWL?

Thanks!

We just got back from WL last night. While there, I heard the tree is going up on the 18th :thumbsup2

Does anyone know when the resort Christmas tree/decorations appear?

Thanks

A Diser posted that they arrived last yr (or maybe the yr before) the Friday before Thanksgiving (which would be this Friday) and all the WL decorations were up. Fingers crossed!! We arrive this Thursday.:cool1:

Have a great trip! :goodvibes

I'm pretty sure they will be up by the end of this week. That seems to be the way they have been going in the past.

22 days and counting until we arrive at the WL!

I'm trying to get my documents and reservations organized...and would love some advice from the WL experts!

We have a woodsview room with bunk beds - and I'm wondering what room requests I should make to try to get a view of MK and the fireworks. I'm thinking 4th, 5th, or 6th floor lobby room over WCC - is that right?

I don't think that it necessarily needs to be a lobby room. It just needs to be an upper floor (like you mentioned) and in the north wing of the building. Your view of MK and the fireworks seems to vary with the foliage!

The first time we went to WL - Thanksgiving 2008 - we had a woodsview room that was on the 5th floor over WCC and we had a great view of the fireworks. However this past summer we were on the 7th floor, inner courtyard view and I could also see the fireworks from our balcony, maybe not as good - don't remember! :)
Have fun!!

Have you gotten your documents yet? We arrive in 24 days and we haven't gotten anything yet. We booked like 35 days until our arrival and had to pay in full right away so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it but we got our DME info weeks ago!!

We've had woods before and were magically upgraded to Courtyard but I doubt that will happen given the time of year it is :confused3 We have Courtyard with Bunk Beds. I called and made a request for inner courtyard on an upper floor. I'm not sure if it was noted though because she took the request the same time as she took my one for POP for our 1st nights stay and didn't as for the confirm # for the WL stay so unless they are linked by last name, I"m not sure if it was requested so you might want to make 2 calls, one to add the request, and another to make sure it's there!
