Guess where my J is tonight?

A sleepover with his fellow flutist from marching band... and you ask " well gee that sounds like fun.. what's with the eek smilie?? "

Have I mentioned he is the only MALE flutist? :rolleyes1

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

He was so cute about it, my shy totally laid back child told us "I think they feel sorry for me being the only guy" and he said if they don't want him to stay he will call for us to pick him up.. no big deal. And then broke out in this sheepish grin, gave a little laugh with a slight blush to his cheeks.

oh
okay

sooooooooooooooooooooo

we are waiting by the phone, just in case. :rotfl:

Okay. We have come to a decision on our trip. I THINK. I was researching all this stuff, because my mom asked me to... Right? She doesnt remember asking me to do it! I keep giving her all these ideas, and she is just like.. Yeah.. uh-huh.. whatever. Doesnt want to listen to, just blows me off. It is really making me angry.

So dh and I talked this morning... and we are going to do two rooms at Pop Century and stay for two weeks. We are going to rent a car for a few days, so we can hit Seaworld, and The Kennedy Space Center. :thumbsup2I LIKE it. I just need to make our ressies and quit researching. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I know the feeling. With DL it's fairly easy to make a few decisions, but with WDW there are SO many decisions, you could spend months researching and second guessing yourself.

Word of warning about Seaworld, we went once and it was ridiculously crowded. So maybe try to find out what day they are least crowded and go on that day. I went 2 hours beforehand to get our seats for the Shamu show and they were already packed full! We stood in line for over an hour for the Sea Lion show, only to not make it into the show and be told that we would have to wait 2 more hours for the next show. Honestly, we prefer the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Maybe we would have felt differently if we could have seen Shamu show or something, but it was disappointing for us.

My sister lives not far from Kennedy Space Center. I've never taken the kids there because she says unless they are really into science they may get kind of bored. She said it's a good place for older kids that are into science and also adults like it.

Just my opinion, so take it or leave it...but I bet your kids would enjoy Universal Studios over Seaworld and KSC.:thumbsup2

:lmao: Dh said the same thing!:lmao:
J came home this morning.. welllllllllllllll?? How was it?

Fine, we had fun.

Was it .. weird?

No, besides her older brother was watching us.
Oh good...

They got permission to TP the hornline captain's house (permission from both sets of parents.. hosting family and horn line family) at midnight. They wrote in chalk on the driveway that the flutes rule. The captain has to clean it up in the morning. :thumbsup2

This is all a different world for E and I.. we were the odd ducks in high school. How did we create two social butterflies??? No clue. :confused3
But it's a blast to watch them be so comfortable in the "crowd" :goodvibes

Hello!

Sadly our band kid has decided he no longer wants to be in band this year. Instead he would rather take guitar lessons and concentrate on the guitar instead of drums. OK, works for me!:thumbsup2

Sounds like he had lots of fun. Ain't genetics wild? Neither of our kids are really like us, kind of a combination I guess. :confused3 Not to mention that both of our kids are total opposites.

Sounds like good advice to me. I agree about some things being better for when the kids get older. But if Frelan or you really want to see the Space Center, then that is a good enough reason to go. :thumbsup2 Kaitllyn went to the Houston Space center when she was 5 and had a great time. There were lots of things to see and do for little ones there. Not sure about Kennedy though?

Hi Pixiewings!

My name is Melody.:flower3: I see you around and about the boards alot too. :goodvibes

DNTheMarine called at the last minute...
uhhhhh whatcha doing tonight?
Helping E dialyze.. why??
How late you staying up?
Late enough, the couch will be waiting for you.
uhhhh, yeah... and somewhere for my fiancee too ... if that's okay?

 Silly goose! What am I going to say? No, you can't ever stay here and hang up?? :rotfl: Though that would serve him right considering he never came to visit us when he was on leave :snooty:

Hotel Garcia is open for business again. :thumbsup2

My mom is insistent on us seeing Seaworld. I would rather do Universal.. I think. but then we run into the kids being to little. Well.. Except for Alex. But the other three.. Not that the babies are going to notice anything anyways. :lmao: And oddly.. Kennedy is for me. I have always wanted to go, and this is probably my only shot. Alex will dig it, I hope. But thanks for the info on Seaworld.. We were thinking of doing that on a Friday, but I am thinking we should switch it up a little now.

hello all hopw everyone is having a good weekend! anyways I was wondering if anyone knows any tattoo places near disneyland I am going in oct and that is good and sterile places and reasonable price?

Wow!!! Definitely not the trip I was expecting. You see - it was the lets get one more last visit in before the AP's expire - with no expectation to renew. We bought Alec a 4day PH (he is on a different AP cycle then us) - he didn't need an AP because we weren't going back for awhile. DH talked me into staying at the Grand because it was going to be awhile.....get the theme here???

Then - DD has to trade pins with Rene - a DVC guy. It happens to be hotter then heck - and we are about to go back to our room for a little break. With his evil trickery :rolleyes1 he coaxes us into a world of free drinks and childcare for the next hour. Let me tell you - DRINKS AND CHILDCARE ARE NEVER FREE!!! Sadly, the VGC was just too good to refuse....needless to say we have to book a trip before our June points expire - and Alec got updated to an AP :rolleyes1:faint::cool1::rotfl2:

Dizzy!:thumbsup2

Stitch, I have no idea about tattoo places near DL. Sorry!

So, I've been working about 4 hours a day all weekend. Why you ask? Because I took last Friday afternoon and Monday off. So I guess this is my punishment.LOL! I'm actually glad we went camping last weekend instead of this weekend. The weather here is absolutely crappy and I have no problems whatsoever staying inside and working. Hope everyone has a Labor Free Labor Day!:):):)

Nope - I will have a labor full labor day - working 12-close. Can't hardly complain though - I have been off since last Monday!!! :woohoo:

Our local fave thrift store had 50% off everything, something they do on just about every major holiday. In the past it would be a large crowd, but not too miserable.

Today was not like the past.

We drove up just 20 minutes after opening, their large parking lot was full.. the service road in front-- full, the side street-- full, three block away on the neighborhood streets-- almost full and people still parking.

Decided 50% off wasn't worth the hassle and the chaos of the teaming masses of families complete with screaming children, grumbling spouses, surly teenagers (You can't make me wear USED clothes to school!), the unwashed (ewwww) and the noise of several languages clashing together (Latin, Somalia, India and your run of the mill Minnesoooootan, ya you betcha dont'cha know ).

Went to have J's eyes tested and buy his glasses. E got talked into an extra test.. $15 more than planned later... we stood our ground on the upcharge offer of premium lenses and warranty. Told the sales lady that with a copy of his script (and pupillary distance) that when the glasses break I will just buy some cheapie ones online. Her response.. ohhhh okay ;)... and made a copy of the script for us. Sweet!:thumbsup2
The offer was $69.99 two pairs and free exam. Exam by itself is $45, adding up whatever he may have picked to buy on Zenni or Eyebuydirect plus shipping figured it was about the same price. Compared the lenses, Zenni is better.. they use a higher index lens.

I try to avoid the thrift stores around here on holidays, 50% off sales = crazy! We went and got a new mattress yesterday. Our last mattress I let DH buy on his own...big mistake! For the last 5 years I have slept on a horrible, firm mattress. Well it was finally breaking down and so bad that we went and got a new one....that I picked out! I wanted to just go to Costco and pick up a new mattress, but they were closed. So we went to a mattress store and I told them they were competing with Costco. There was no way I was spending more then what Costco charged ($499 for a nice king size mattress). So 15 minutes later we were on our way with a nice Serta pillowtop mattress (original price $1,799, sale price $1,099, Alison price $599). Yeah I know, spent $100 more then I wanted, but it was a much nicer mattress then Costco's and I felt like we got a good deal on it. Does that tell you how much of a markup there is on mattresses!

Slept wonderfully last night and woke up this morning with no backache for a change. DH was still sleeping when I left for work, so I'll have to call him and see how he slept. Hopefully well. They have a 120 day guarantee, you are required to sleep on it for 21 days, if you still don't like it after that, then bring it back and get a refund or try a different mattress. I slept well, so if DH has a problem, well he can go sleep on the old mattress which is currently out on the back porch awaiting a one way trip to the dump!

Uggh! A day from hell! I got layed off. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I just started there 2 weeks ago, why hire someone just to lay them off two weeks later? It doesn't make sense, so I thought ok maybe they're not happy with my performance. But then she said she'll bring me back in January when things pick up again.

Back to the drawing board.

aawww I am ssoo sorry I will keep you in my prayers for you to get a new job :) well hopefully things will get better :)
