The Unofficial Ask-a-Question Get-an-Answer Thread

Are ADRs needed at all of the resort restaurants? I would assume you would need them at someplace like California Grill, but what about, say, Shutters at the CBR?
Depends on the time of year, during free dining ADRs are needed even at the resorts.

Otherwise, you can generally get a walk up.

Shutters, is a tiny restaurant and CBR is a huge resort so even when it is not free dining, getting a walk up at Shutters can be tricky. FWIW I think Shutters is terrible, I haven't eaten there in 6 years and it has not been long enough for me to try again.

Is there anywhere in the parks (really hoping TS/CS restaurants) that I would have access to an outlet to charge my camera battery?? The battery really holds well, but I may burn it out real quick being in WDW for the first time. My hope is that while we are taking a break to eat, I could plug in my camera for a little bit to give it a boost (IF I was able to sit near the outlets that may not even exist.)

I have never noticed an outlet. Then again, I've never really looked for one. My guess, however, is that no, there are not any outlets available. I would assume this for safety reasons.

Have a magical day.

What is a reasonable time to arrive at AK to be fairly close to the front of the line to enter on an Extra Magic Morning? The date is Monday 11/2, it opens @8am.

About 30 minutes early will get you pretty close to the front of the line.

Have a magical time.

This is pretty much what I was thinking, but thought I'd ask anyway!! Thanks!!

I didn't read the whole thread, so sorry if this has been asked!

We have reservations at CP in the MK at 8:10 on a 9 am opening day. We want to take pictures walking down main street. How early will they let us in for an 8:10 ressie?

I love this thread!! I have had so many random questions in all my research. Here's today's:

Not that I know of... but I've never really looked. I always have 3 camera batteries with me at disney, just to be sure! I've never used more than 2 in a day... but ya just never know! ;) If you need to, you can usually find extra batteries on ebay at a good price. I got mine with an extra charger too.

I always carry an extra too. Last year, I was using one of the cheap Ebay batteries, and carrying my Canon battery with me. I had just recharged the Canon battery overnight, with the Canon charger. When the Ebay battery pooped out on It's a Small World, I figured no big deal, I'll switch in the Canon battery. Sadly, it only made it through perhaps five pictures before it gave up. Who'd have thought with two batteries at my disposal, I'd wind up not being able to take pictures. Lesson learned, this year I carry two spares with me!

I'm not sure about TS/CS, but there are outlets in the DHS Animation Building I have seen people use!

Our trip is in late Sept and we will not be at HS until after lunch maybe like 2pm do you think lines will still be long and all fp gone for TSM? Going to AK first thing in the morning b/c DH hasnt done safari yet and early morn is best time for it!

The trains do stop during parades because the parade floats cross over the train tracks (backstage).

Head there first thing...but I think very likely you will be out of FP. My advice is if they are, go back late in the day near park closing and ride stand-by. (Assuming you are there that late.) This is especially good to do if there is a Fantasmic showing that night.

They will stop as the parade ends (which is when the parade vehicles cross the track), but I believe they'll run normally up to the specific point.

Thanks for this info. Atleast I know of one place if I get in a jam while I'm at DHS.

We had 8:05 ADRs on a 9am opening day. We were at the park at 745am and were let in almost immediately! Lots of time for a leisurely stroll down Main St.! :goodvibes

OK, this is going to sound completely crazy, I KNOW, but I have to ask anyway. My mom was talking to a guy that she knows that had taken his DD to WDW for her graduation last year. He told my mom that they had to pay $16 to ride the train at WDW and that it took 2 hours to ride it all the way around. This cannot possibly be right?!?!? Could he have been talking about something else, did his wife tell a little lie to get some extra cash or is he just plain crazy?!?! Anyone??

I have used TGMike once in the past and I thought I could get most of my information elsewhere for free. However, I am going in December for the first time and I am overwhelmed by all there is going on. It's making it really hard to decide which days to go to what park. I was wondering if TGMike has all of that info yet for December. I know a lot of people complain that he doesn't keep his website updated. I wouldn't want to subscribe and then not have the info that I need. It would be a big hassle to try and get a refund. Anybody know?

He has the November LCP charts up but not December yet. Disney is currently only publishing hours at 90 days out (and things like EMH, Fantasmic, etc.), so it's virtually impossible for him to begin the LCP charts until then. Hopefully once they're announced (early September), he'll start on them and at least get the basics out within a few days. He's been doing them differently recently - putting the days and colors out there first, then filling in with details and reasons so that people can have the critical info more quickly.

1-OK, this is going to sound completely crazy, I KNOW, but I have to ask anyway.
2-My mom was talking to a guy that she knows that had taken his DD to WDW for her graduation last year.
3- He told my mom that they had to pay $16 to ride the train at WDW and that
4-it took 2 hours to ride it all the way around. This cannot possibly be right?!?!?
5- Could he have been talking about something else,
6- did his wife tell a little lie to get some extra cash or is he just plain crazy?!?! Anyone??

1- You're right. (And not so "little," at that.)
2- Your Mom needs new friends.
3- OK... No.
4- I'm leaning towards a big NO, again.
5- Nothing costs $16 to ride... that takes 2 hours... at WDW.
6- Finally, a "YES!" (And, you can pick either choice in that question.)

;)
