The sky's awake, so I'm awake! But I'm dreaming of Disney! March 2015 PTR

Your girls are so cute all ready for the competition! That book sounds amazing, how sweet and thoughtful of them.

I've only done competitions twice with one squad and it was so stressful. The girls were so nervous, who am I kidding...me too! Completely different atmosphere than cheering at the football game and performing at half time. It was a lot of fun though and I think if we were to do it again, I'd be much more prepared. They sure loved it too!

Bummer on your squad not placing, but knowing they did their best and it wasn't due to a mistake makes it a little easier to swallow.

That Let it Go song with all the cheerleaders singing is awesome! I would have loved to be there to hear it, especially you on the jumbotron...why is there no video of this ;)

Ahh, boo for no movie nights...well at least you got him to agree to seeing some he hasn't seen.

Hooray for almost double digits :cool1:

Awww....sorry the girls didn't place, but as long as they gave it their best, that is what counts.

What sweet gifts for you from the girls.

I love the video of everyone singing Let It Go. And :rotfl2: that you ended up on the Jumbotron.

I have yet to see Malicifent (I am not a Jolie fan at all). I like your idea of a movie night up until the trip. Well, until Sken messed that up with not wanting to do Disney movies. :lmao::lmao:

They did give it their all and I was so proud!

I don't normally like Jolie, but I love her in Maleficent.

Yes I was so nervous for competition. I am pretty sure I was more nervous than the team combined, it was awful.

I didn't get him to agree to movie nights, but we did watch Frozen last night and he was singing it by the end of the night. I think he tried to put up the "tough guy" act but it's not working! :rotfl:

*************************************

So now that cheer is over, I need to find some new hobbies to keep me busy. I am thinking of joining a local gym to get in shape for the trip so I need to look into that.

In the meantime.. I got crafty!

I saw this countdown on Pintrest and instead of paying $25-30 for it, I decided to try to make it myself!

So I went to Michael's and bought a plaque of wood and some paint. I started working on it Friday night.

Since the chalk paint takes two coats and 24 hours to cure, I had to wait to start back up Saturday.

Then it was time to test it out. Wouldn't you know I didn't buy any chalk to test it?! :rotfl: So yesterday Sken and I went shopping at Target and getting some chalk was on the list. We could not find any single things of chalk anywhere!! I finally got a chalk banner that says "Merry Christmas" so we can use it for both.

Did it work??

It did!! I was so excited! :woohoo: Now I just need the letters. I really wanted the Disney font, so Dawn is going to use her Cricut to cut out the letters in Vinyl so I can add them to the bottom. I love it! I'm very proud as I am not usually crafty! I will show the picture when I get it all together!

Now if only these 109 days would fly by so I could be back in the world!! :hyper:

:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Really don't have too much to add other than that. The trip planning is going ahead slow by steady. I know I had mentioned my parents coming, however my mom's work has put blackout dates for that month so they won't be joining. :sad1: Sken's mom doesn't want to come along, and we haven't really heard back from Brad and Heather. So the plans are moving forward with Sken and myself, and Dawn, Myra, and Kaden.

********************************************

On a life update.. we got family pictures done the other day. The photographer put the previews up last night and I love them!!!

Here they are:

And the babygirl:

Isn't she the cutest?!? I love them!

I am getting all the pictures on a USB and we are planning on giving them to family as gifts for Christmas. I am so excited and can't wait to see how the rest came out!

That's it for now, hopefully things get a little more exciting soon! Pretty much have a month until FP+ selections and final payment!

Bye :wave2:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for double digit day. So exciting (mine seems to be stuck in the 150's).

Love the "family" picture. Your puppy is adorable.

:woohoo: Double digit day IS exciting!!! Now the time will fly for you!!! :woohoo:

I LOVE your family pictures!!! and YES what an adorable puppy.

Eek, double digits.....SUPER exciting!

Love your family photos! Tessie is gorgeous! Amazing pictures of her!

Howdy everyone! Hope all is well with you all!

Things are a bit crazy over here but I wanted to try to get in an update.

On the Disney front; I finally finished my countdown! With the help of Dawn, who made the letters for me, my countdown is finally complete! Here is the final product:

I love how it came out! And I'm glad I was able to do it for so cheap! Now if only those numbers would shrink faster and I could get to the World!!

One of the reasons this week is so crazy is that we are throwing my step-dad a surprise 50th this Friday night. So far we think it is still a surprise and that he has no idea! It's going to be really nice. I found this board on Pintrest and decided to take a try at it and I think it came out pretty good!

I will let you all know next week how the whole thing turned out!

I'm also getting ready for Christmas which is keeping me busy! I keep meaning to take pictures of our house so that I can share them but I keep forgetting! :confused3 I do have a picture of our stocking that I had made on Etsy:

Can you spy the countdown in this picture?? I will try to remember to get some pictures this weekend so I can share!

That is really all that's going on. Hopefully I will be able to be back next week with some Disney news. This waiting period is stinky because I am so close to be going, but still really far to not have any updates. I know I want to get together some plans so I can make my FP+ selections at 60 days out.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :wave2:

OHH I LOVE IT!!! it's adorable! ohh and the sign is perfect! I hope your StepDad has a great party!!! and is very surprised!!!

Casey, I adore the countdown, but I LOVE the birthday sign. That is absolutely awesome!

The stockings are great!

Hi!! Joining your PTR, because our dates overlap! :yay: We'll be down during our spring break March 15-21! :)

So exciting that you are staying at POR! I LOVE that resort!!! We stayed in a Royal room back in March. So amazing!

Love your Cheer team! My husband is a collegiate marching band director and we love our kids! It's amazing that they did so well at their competitions. Regionals are always tough.

Love your little craft! Very sweet!

Hi Everyone! :wave2:

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! Thank you for the Christmas wishes, I wish I could have gotten on to wish you all one but things have been super busy around here lately.

So sit back and relax because here comes a big update! So:

So first I'll let you all know the reason that I have been away for a bit. From reading my report thus far, you know that my cheer team is very important to me and we are like a family. Well one of the girls on my team, lost her mom to a long battle with cancer, two days before Christmas. The mom had been holding on and trying to push through Christmas for her kids, but the battle was too much. My heart broke and I cried immediately when I heard. Some people in town held a benefit for this family a few weeks ago and raised a lot so I'm thankful for that.

So last Sunday was the wake for the mom. The team, along with their mom's met me there and we all went in together. Dawn made us bows that are white and have a navy ribbon (for colon cancer) and the mom's initials in gold. The girls all wore them and we went through together. It took us two hours to get through the line, this woman touched so many. Tears came flooding from all the girls, their moms, the girl who lost her mom, her brother and the dad. After we went through the line, we gathered the girls outside to hug and let them know that they all did the right thing and were so strong for their teammate. They are all between 10-13 so this was tough for them. They still continue to make me so proud! :lovestruc

But on to happier news! Christmas was a huge success in our house! This was not only our first Christmas in our new house, we were also able to host it! So we got up around 7 (well I was up at 3 because no matter how hard I try I CANT sleep on Christmas morning), and opened our gifts to each other. This was Sken's first time doing a stocking so he was determined to do a good job! :rotfl: And he did!

So I got two big gifts from him, one of which is going to help me with this update! But first here is a little back story..

Last Christmas I got Sken a four day cruise out of FL. We went to the Bahamas and took the excursion through Atlantis. We did the swimming with the dolphins and the whole bit, because we knew that with buying a house it was going to be the last big vacation for a while. When we got back into the taxi to being us back to the ship, we were looking at all the pictures on my camera. Well when Sken was done looking, he put my camera on the seat, NEXT to my bag. Neither of us noticed...

We got through the port authority, and I wanted to take pictures, so I started feeling around in my bag.. no camera. I started to freak out and he ran back out to where the taxi was but it was gone. I was bawling on the dock and we were both so upset. Thankfully we bought some pictures are the dolphin cove, so we have some pictures, but that's about it.

So for Christmas.. I got a new camera!! I was so excited. He got me a Nikon CoolPix. So thanks to that AWESOME gift, here is some Christmas morning pictures!

Sken and the Baby girl with their new gifts!

Tired from opening and playing with all her new toys!

The tree with our gifts under it before our parents got there.

Our table all set for our guest to arrive! It was Sken and I, my parents and his mom and uncle!

I also got a little crafty with the veggie plate!

Treats for the pups! Tessie is on the left and my parent's dog Dixie on the right.

And the calm of Christmas night...

The camera was the second to last present that I opened from Sken. The last present was a box with the Frozen Soundtrack, Lion King socks, and Olaf keychain and turbie towels for my hair. The towels were not in the box, which I thought was odd, so I took the elastic off of one and this note was inside..

WE'RE GOING TO SEE FROZEN ON ICE! The back says February 14th. Yes, we are going for Valentines day!

We got a lot of other gifts too but I figured these two most apply to the trip! I also took this picture that night of the countdown:

However that countdown now reads 72 days!

I need to get together some rough plans so I can book the FP+ in 12 days! What ways do you like to plan with the new system? Do you do notes, spreadsheets? I'm wondering what is going to work best for me..

Also in other exciting news... They released a spring discount two days ago, so I called and we saved $250! So woohoo the price is going down!!! ::yes::

Next plans are making our FP+ selections and doing some rough plans for the days!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

OHH I LOVE IT!!! it's adorable! ohh and the sign is perfect! I hope your StepDad has a great party!!! and is very surprised!!!

Thank you! He did have a good party. He was surprised until he saw his friend in the parking lot. But he loved it and was so happy. A good time was had by all that night!

Casey, I adore the countdown, but I LOVE the birthday sign. That is absolutely awesome!

The stockings are great!

Thank you! It was a huge hit that night, everyone thought it was wicked funny!

Thanks Mo! I love the Christmas morning pictures of your family! Happy New Year to you as well and I hope you enjoy these next few days off before going back to work!

I'm so sorry to hear the loss of the cheerleader's mom. What a sad situation and even more so during the holidays. My father passed away during a football season (he was a youth coach for many years), it was amazing the support from our football "family" and our cheer "family." It sounds like your cheerleader received some great support from her cheer "family." I love that your cheerleaders even had special bows to honor the mom.

Glad to hear you had a good Christmas otherwise. We hosted our first Christmas Eve at our house this year. Hosting is so much fun and there is no traveling after. I love your table placings and the veggie tree was super cute!

Puppy all pooped out photo is adorable!

That story about the missing camera made me sad, to lose all those photos would be devastating. But hooray for a new one!!! That's super exciting!!

Frozen on Ice....Oh My Gosh...beyond jealous!!!!!! That sounds like a perfect way to celebrate Valentine's Day!

YAY for your first successful Christmas! :cheer2:
I am so very sorry to about the Mom. horrible news and the family will be in my prayers.

On a better thought your Baby looks just HAPPY as can be with her gifts!! YAY a new camera!!! you know how i am with CAMERAS!!!
