The sky's awake, so I'm awake! But I'm dreaming of Disney! March 2015 PTR

Hi Everyone!! Not too much to add to this update except I added an ADR...

We are doing the Desert Party for Wishes the last night of our stay!! :thumbsup2:yay::woohoo:princess:

Hello! I'm following along. :) I will be staying at POFQ in May, and my husband is also (very mildly) reluctant. He agreed to the trip and keeps saying he thinks it will be fun "for our daughter." I'm hoping he's just trying to curb his enthusiasm so he doesn't seem too silly. He did laugh and get a little happy about drinking around the world, though. I'll probably drink more than usual on that day, too. I'll try not to get smash-hammered though.

I'm also thinking about maybe booking the Wishes dessert party for our last night, too! So I'm anxious to see what you say about all the things! :) Thanks for sharing your trip! <3

Hi There :wave2: Thanks for following along! Sken seems to not want to talk about it too much because it is so far away (168 days!) but I'm hoping that once we get to WDW even Mr. grumpy pants won't be too grumpy! LOL :lmao:

Hi Everyone! :wave2:

It's been a while and I have a lot to update. :thumbsup2 They just released discounts for next March so yesterday I, along with a million other people, called the wonderful cast members at Disney to apply them. After being on hold for 2 1/2 hours :headache: I finally got through and had a wonderful CM help me out. I saved about $400 with that discount so woohoo for that!:hyper:

Today I booked my flight home. I had been watching the JetBlue site to get a good price and it didn't seem to be going down so I just did it and will call if it goes down to get the adjustment. Thanks to Dawn I was able to get our flight down for $99, so that was awesome!

So we will be leaving on Friday March 13th at 7am and arriving at MCO around 10am. From there we will hope on the ME to the resort.

On March 22nd we will be leaving the world around noon and getting home around 3. We will both be returning to work the next day so I didn't want a late flight home. Noon works for me too because then we don't have to be up wicked early.

BUT WAIT>>>>>THERE'S MORE!!!!!!!!!!

:wizard:

:wizard:

:wizard:

While playing around today on the WDW website.. I decided to check something out to see how the discount would work with it. My little fingers were typing away and OMG it might work! :hyper::hyper:

So I get on the phone and with only a short wait of 10 mins, I'm talking to another CM about my room reservations. She checks what I was asking about and breaks the news that those rooms are not cheaper because apparently everyone staying in them took the discount too and there were none left... :headache:

But what about.......

And she checks....

And OMG it is......

I'm saving a whopping $20 B.U.T.

WE ARE STAYING AT POR IN A ROYAL ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ::yes:::hyper::worship::banana::love::yay::woohoo::rotfl:

** Side story about this.. Sken and I were on a "stay-cation" last week and a few weeks ago I had ordered the Disney planning DVD. It came in last week so we sat down to watch it. While watching the DVD there were things spewing out of Sken's mouth like "Aw what's that?!" "Where is that" "That looks cool why didn't I know about that?!" And many variations of the same. When it got to the part about the resorts and showed PO is did a small feature on the Royal Rooms. He excitedly says "Is that our room?!" I explained it was the same resort but the other side and no it wasn't and he seemed bummed. Today when I asked him about it, he was excited we would be switching. :lovestruc One more thing to get him into this whole trip! ONE STEP CLOSER! ;)

I also was able to add my newly purchased flights to ME while talking to this CM. She knew I was excited, it was awesome!! Now I only have to wait 154 days....:wizard:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

That is awesome Casey on the savings and then being able to move to a Royal room. They do look pretty awesome.

Congrats on booking your return flight and the CM linking everything for you.

Thanks Kathy! I am in love with what I have seen of the Royal Rooms and I think it's going to be wonderful :lovestruc

Howdy all my trusty followers! (All three of you :lmao::rotfl2:)

This update will consist of a smorgasbord of different things!

First a real life update!
As you can see by my first few posts, I am a cheer coach for my local Pop Warner team. This past weekend the girls had their first competition! :cheer2:

The way they usually split the teams up for competition is first by the size of the team (small, medium and large) then by difficulty level (1,2,3). Our team is a small level 2. At this competition it was an invitational so not many teams go, but I like to bring the girls to get the experience and get out those first time jitters. Since there were no other small teams in our level, we competed against 4 medium teams. This usually happens at this comp and we never place, but the experience is worth it so we keep going back. Things changed this year though!

The last practice before comp we had a girl show up on crutches. She had injured her foot while practicing at home and wasn't going to be able to do the competition. We had to quickly re-arrange the whole thing and try to make the routine work without her. The girls were able to pull it all together and my heart literally was beating out of my chest with proudness!

They came in second place! :cheer2: :cheer2: Here is a picture of them with their trophy at the game the next day.

These girls amaze me, they did wonderful! So now we have our league competition on the 25th. If we get first or second at the league competition we move on to Regionals on November 15th. If we place at Regionals, we go to DISNEY! But I don't want to get too ahead just yet.

*************************************

Next, I will give you a second real life update that also applies to Disney. :rotfl: The program that does cheer is throwing an Adult Halloween party as a fundraiser. I ordered my costume yesterday...

HAHA! I am going to be Olaf!! :woohoo: I can't wait until it gets delivered..

********************************

Speaking of getting delivered.. guess what came in the mail yesterday?

OUR DECAL!! I was so excited when it showed up yesterday! Sken was very curious as to where it was going.. I assured him I was only going to hang it on the fridge. I think he thought it was going on my car! LOL. :rotfl2: I love that I was able to get a little Tessie on it too!

****************************************
And it when it comes full circle we are back to the trip! So I made some changes to our plans.. nothing major so here is the updated trip info! (Which is what this is all about right?!)

March 13th: Flight is at 7am. Arrive around 10am at MCO. Dinner at Planet Hollywood with Dawn and the kids.
March 14th:
March 15th: Before park opening breakfast at Crystal Palace
March 16th:
March 17th:
March 18th: Breakfast Tusker House
March 19th: Spirit of Aloha Dinner show at the Poly
March 20th:
March 21st: Wishes Desert party
March 22nd: Departure day. Flight leaves MCO at noon.

So I have added in the flights and I also cancelled our ADR at Yak & Yeti. I only cancelled the Ressie because I know that Sken will be just fine going there for the CS meal instead of sitting down. Also we will be having a big breakfast that morning so I don't wait anything to go to waste.

I think I might be able to squeeze in one more ADR but I also don't want to get on too tight of a schedule. We shall see!

And this concludes the longest update EVER! :joker: BYE! :wave2:

You're ahead of me on lining out ADRs. I guess that makes sense, though, as you're going in March. I first totally misread this and thought you were going in May, and then I was like "OMG OMG WE OVERLAP."

But I am le wrong.

/
Casey, congrats to the girls! That is awesome to do that on such short notice with the girls on crutches!

LOVE the Olaf costume. You best be posting pictures so we can see how you look in it.

Yes, if you have a big breakfast, Yak & Yeti would be too much.

I don't know if I congratulated you on the Dessert ADR. I've yet to get one...one of these days.

Yes.. we are going in March. I joined the FB group but so far there isn't really anyone overlapping..yet! :confused3 Hopefully someone does so i can have my very first DIS-meet!

Thank you! They have the big comp this coming Saturday so this week is very busy for me! Hopefully we move on to Regionals!

The Olaf costume was shipped yesterday and should be arriving some time before Friday. Next week I will have an update with the costume and the girls results!

I'm really looking forward to the Dessert party. I love the idea of being able to sit, relax, indulge and watch wishes for our last night!

Hi Everyone! So sorry I haven't been back this week until now, things have been crazy!!

So first for my Olaf costume (because I know your all dying to see it), you'll have to wait until tomorrow! LOL :rotfl2: I got it in the mail, but I haven't taken a picture in it yet. I will take a picture tonight and post tomorrow. I can tell you though, that Sken was pissed because the delivery people left his $150 work boots on the front step, but they wouldn't leave my $30 Olaf costume and instead I had to go to the company to sign for it! :rotfl::lmao:

So why am I wearing it tonight to take a picture? Because, we have practice tonight. The girls had the same deal this year as last year, if you place at the league competition, you can have a Halloween practice.

Yes you read that right..... THEY PLACED AT COMPETITION!! FIRST PLACE! :cheer2::cheer2:

So we continue to practice because we are going to the Regional competition on November 15th! If we place 1st or 2nd at that comp, we go to Disney World!!

I can't get my hopes up too much just yet because we made it to Regionals last year and the girls froze when it was their time to preform and we ended up getting 7th out of 9. This year we are preparing for everything so we can hopefully place! FINGERS CROSSED! :worship:

I will be back to update tomorrow with our Halloween practice pictures!

Hi, joining in!

All your planning looks awesome!

Love all the cheer updates, congrats on your first place win!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: That is SO exciting!!! I wish you all luck at Regionals and hope you get to travel to WDW.

Love that Olaf costume, I was totally going to get that too, but decided I really didn't need a costume. It's so cute and looks so warm. Can't wait to see a pic of you in it!

Congrats to the girls!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks Kathy! They earned it for sure, so proud of these girls!

Thanks for joining in! :cheer2: Glad to have a fellow cheer coach reading along! The Olaf costume was VERY comfy! I wore it for practice and our league did a Halloween fundraiser so I got to wear it that night too! So much fun!

I am going to do an update later today. I work in Payroll and this was a pay week so it's been tough to get on till now, but I should be back later with an update! :wave2:

Hi Everyone! :wave2:

Sorry I didn't get to the update yesterday.. lots going on here at work and also cheer. :cheer2: The Order of Appearance for Regionals should be coming out today or tomorrow and it will tell me how many teams we will be competing against at Regionals. My stomach is in knots waiting for it!!!

Last week we had our Halloween themed practice which was the night I debuted my Olaf costume. I went into the bathroom to put it on and when I came out the girls tackled me yelling "OLAF!" :rotfl2:

Here is the girls that night:

We had a cat, superwoman, Tinkerbell, a witch, and a BUM! That was my favorite. Her sign said "cold and hungry will work for Pizza and Beer!" :rotfl: Sorry for the screenshot but it's all I've got.

Friday night was Halloween. At my work I got to wear my Buzz Lightyear sweatshirt all day. I was in Heaven! My mom sent a picture of her costume that night, so I sent her back this picture!

Since we just moved to this neighborhood I had no idea what the Trick-or-Treat-er situation would be. I asked my neighbors and they said no one comes down our street since there are Cul-da-sac's up the road. We did get three groups! I'm glad I had candy. I also lit our pumpkins, I carved Tink and Sken did Iron Man.

For dinner we tried to do Jack-o-Lantern pizza. Didn't come out looking too much like Jack-o-Latern's but they were cute.

It was a quiet night. We watched Ghost Hunters and Nightmare on Elm Street. We had a big day Saturday that we had to get ready for!

On Saturday was my Pop Warner program's Halloween Party Fundraiser. This was the other time I got to wear my Olaf costume! Sken went shopping last minute but was able to get a Spiderman costume. Here are some pictures of us and some others at the party.

We had a lot of fun. Skender was a finalist in the individual costume contest. They had to have a dance-off to determine a winner. He didn't win but it was so funny to watch! He couldn't see out of the mask so he was all over the place. :lmao::rotfl2:

So that was our Halloween weekend! It was so much fun. This weekend is a quiet one and next weekend I will be traveling two hours away to the Regional competition. Wish us luck! :goodvibes

Oh and to end this update.. Here is a picture of our Miss Tessie Girl being adorable as always.

It's hard to see but she was jumping all over Sken while he was trying to adjust the velcro on his costume and I said "hey, Tess" and she stopped just like this with her head on top of his and just left it there. It was so cute.

That's it folks. See ya real soon! :flower3:

Adore the Olaf costume...very cute. And the girls look adorable.

We had maybe 20 kids because the weather here was so bad.

Sounds like a fun party. Sorry that Sken didn't win, but he looked awesome.

Keeping my fingers crossed for your girls.

Ahhhh....I love your Olaf costume SO much! Total awesomeness!!!!

Love all the cheerleaders dressed up. Speaking of a bum, my nephew (who was 3 at the time) was dressed as a bum for Halloween and his sign said "Will work for candy." I thought that was such a neat costume idea.

I saw that Buzz Lightyear sweatshirt for sale at DL, my DH wanted it but decided not to. He regrets that now. I think it's so cool!

Super awesome pumpkins! We had Captain America, Captain America and Hulk, Elsa and Olaf pumpkins at our house.

Awe, you did Jack-o-Lantern Pizzas....L<3VE!!!! I think they turned out great!

That Spiderman costume is pretty neat, lucky he was able to snag it up at the last minute.

I wish you and your cheerleaders luck at Regionals, can't wait to hear how it goes!

Tessie is adorable!

Great update :)

Hi Everyone!

It's been a long week and it's only Thursday. My girls competed this past weekend in Springfield. They did not place, but they did so awesome at their comp! I am so proud of those girls for everything they have done this season! :cheer2:

We stayed at a hotel in CT because it is cheaper to go over the CT boarder. The comp was in Western MA. They hotel was really nice and had a great pool for the girls to go swimming in. They really enjoyed themselves swimming and hanging out. They were sent to bed early because we had a big day ahead of us.

We were up at 6 am to do hair and make-up. This took about 2 hours to get all the girls ready and then it was time for pictures.

After this picture was taken, the girls came over to me with two gift bags. One had a bow in it, that they coordinated with my cousin (Dilligaf) that was white and in sparkly pink letters says "Behind every great cheerleader.. Is an amazing coach" and a scrapbook that they made with pictures from the past two years. At the end of the scrapbook was some pages that were labeled "Thank you." On these pages were thank you notes from all of the girls and parents. I was in tears reading it before we even left the hotel because the girls wanted me to read them all. It was such a sweet gesture and something I will treasure.

We headed over to the comp and it was a whirlwind of a day. We got our picture taken before we competed, with the girls, my other coaches and myself.

We then made our way to warm-ups and then the dreaded wait. They have you warm-up and then get into this huge line where you wait until a team is done, and then move up. Because it is right before you go, the anticipation is terrible!! So to try to relax the girls, we took some pre-comp selfies!

That might be my favorite picture of the day! :cheer2:

When it was our turn the girls went out and rocked the mats. They put everything they had into it and did really great. It wasn't enough, as we had really tough competition, but it was a great learning experience for the girls. Here is them on the mats doing their thing!

Once awards hit, they have all the teams go onto the mat. While they finish getting everyone in and getting the awards together, they usually play music. Well right before they started the awards they turned everything down, and started to play "Let it Go." We sang it along with all other 50927595 cheerleaders there. I'm going to try to attach a video of it here:
(This also shows how many people were there with us!

After I took this video, to try to get the girls to relax as you could clearly see their nerves.. I began to sign the song at the top of my lungs. I was very animated and the girls were all cracking up. Well apparently the camera man was cracking up too because I ended up on the jumbo-tron! :upsidedow:scared:

All and all the day was a great day. I'm sad we didn't place, but it wasn't for lack of trying. Another great season come to a close.

***********************************

In Disney news.. we are two weeks away from being in the double digits! :dance3:

Saturday night after the long comp, Sken and I went out to eat and then over to Best Buy where I bought Maleficent! :maleficen We watched it that night. I just love that movie!

I brought up the idea of doing movie nights leading up to Disney that night. At first he was all for it, but then he found out I meant only Disney movies and he changed his mind. He said he wanted to be able to pick the movies and that they couldn't be Disney! Haha! :sad2: So we decided that he will tell me which movies he hasn't seen and watch those leading up to Disney. :joker:

That's it for now!

Awww....sorry the girls didn't place, but as long as they gave it their best, that is what counts.

What sweet gifts for you from the girls.

I love the video of everyone singing Let It Go. And :rotfl2: that you ended up on the Jumbotron.

I have yet to see Malicifent (I am not a Jolie fan at all). I like your idea of a movie night up until the trip. Well, until Sken messed that up with not wanting to do Disney movies. :lmao::lmao:
