The Sims 2....Share your screens and stories here!

No letter jumble is needed. Jyst typing kaching will get you 1000 simoleons per use. For 50.000 simoleons, type motherlode.

Kaching has no real use with Motherlode in play. :thumbsup2

I have all the expansion packs, but at the moment, I am just trying to get my Sims prepared for the rest of their lives. I've Turned off the aging and so I can focus on their carreers and their talents. For Example:

1) The Mother of the family has a home business that isn't quite going to plan, but she isn't fussed for the family is rich enough anyway and all she wants is to have a Gold Talent Badge in Flower Arrangment anyway..

2) The Father of the Family is on a constant career change; he was in politics and is now in business management (I think?). The latter is a slow start, and he is slowly working his way up. Even the pets are earning more!

3) A cat and a Dog in the family are showbiz stars, but spend all their time standing still! They don't do anything at all! All they do is wait till work!

4) Both the Mother and the Father have Silver Gardening Skills, and have a greenhouse in the back. Things start off well, but, they find that all their tomato plants have died from, get this OVER watering! Who did it? The Wife, the husband, or the Gardener that they can't get rid of!

With the Mother wanting to start a family, another could be on the way! But will that happen? Stay tuned!

Wow this thread really came alive overnight!

So the H&M thing is a stuff pack? Interesting..I like my Sims to have lots of clothes, but I find so much free content that is really well made, I can't bring myself to buy any of the stuff packs.

"Bon Voyage" sounds interesting. It will be really neat if your Sims can go away on honeymoon or something like that..I always thought whisking them away ina limo after the wedding was odd because they just come right back home!

Out of curiosity..what are some of your favorite custom content sites, if you do download custom content?

Nice to see this thread going again.

I play almost daily, but I've been getting the "blue screen of death" for awhile now, downloaded a new graphics driver from Nvidia but it didn't help. :( It still freezes up and shuts down. Sometimes it does it in 30 minutes, sometimes in a couple of hours, it's so random. So I always have to restart, so it's quite a pain but I don't know what else to do. :confused3

I love "Seasons", it's really a lot of fun. I have an elderly SIM (turned off the aging so she won't die of old age) who loves to garden. I like the greenhouse so she can even garden in the winter months. She hasn't turned into a plant SIM though.

So "Bon Voyage" is the next new one to be coming out? Does anyone know much about this new expansion pack? I hadn't heard about it before.

KILL the gardener! Befriend the gardener, have him/her over for dinner, get them in the pool and take away the ladder. Then End Services with the replacement.

Sometimes it's tough to do, but now and then, you gotta waste an NPC as an example to the others. :rolleyes1

It hasn't been officially announced and I doubt it will be until after H&M comes out. The latest tidbit on www.snootysims.com says the rumored release date for Bon Voyage is September 3rd.

As for custom content, there are a variety of sites. I use modthesims2.com. The Sims Resource site has some free stuff. You have to register (free) to access the free content. I've gotten good free stuff from http://www.parsimonious.org/. There is free stuff on http://www.peggysims2.net/index.htm. You can also find some nice free stuff on http://www.simsconnection.com/. (Links to the free stuff is on the right.)

Oh and as for the PC crashing, I was having that problem recently. I had to clean out the dust from inside my tower and turn on my back-up fan. My PC was running too hot for the Sims. It's much better now.

News from our front:

The wife gave up her business career. She soon realised her only sales where from people who were lotering about, that was it. She packed it in and gave up.

The husband and wife now have gold Gardening badges! And are now working on their fishing careers! Unsucessfully of course.. LOL

More soon! :)

Fishing is neat. When they cook the fish, the meals sparkle.

Yea!! And have you noticed that when you eat the sparkly food that your hunger bar goes up really fast! I love the fact that you can now store your leftovers and re-eat them later! Great idea!!!

Has anyone done any experimenting with the juicer and its beneficial combinations. I haven't. Recipes are are out there though.

I've only tried the juicer once and the only thing it made my sims to is have to go to the bathroom really bad!! :lmao:

Also if you stock your fridge with the fresh produce you grow all of your meals will sparkle, be more satisfying to your Sims and will be free.

Bumping this up yet again!

I LOVE Seasons, but one thing is driving me NUTS! It's now SO much harder for a Sim to gain body points, because of the temperature gague! It only takes about an hour on the treadmill before their little thermometer is totally red! The best solution I've found so far is to send them outside in the winter until they are almost frozen, and *then* have them work out, but that only works in winter, of course.

It also bugs me that they can't stay in the hot tub very long! That used to be one of the easiest way to make new friends- get them all in there, and they would talk for hours and hours!

I wonder if there's a cheat code to set their temperature back to normal?

Overheating too quickly is one of the problems that will supposedly be addressed in the next patch. MaxoidSam posted all glitches that are being fixed on his blog. Check the Saturday, 21 April 2007 entry.

I keep my Sims off the treadmill for now. The punching bag works well and elevates fun. There are also indoor pools.

Bon Voyage is expected to be announced today or very soon. Some screens have surfaced already. Camping! It looks cool..:)

I skipped Celebration Pack, but I'm getting H&M and that comes out soon! Too bad I'm traveling so much this summer. Oh well....:) I'll play when I get back!

Also, click on your sim and select "Do Yoga". You don't get nearly as overheated!!!

That hot tub issue ruined one of my wedding parties. One of my teens got too hot in the hot tub. He got out of the tub during the cake cutting, grabbed himself a slice of cake and then spontaneously combusted. He died, the grim reaper came and the party score dropped to "snoozer".
