WDW Poly Princess - I'm glad you got the game working! I haven';t gotten to winter yet, but it looks so fun and I love the penguin!

I guess the sparkly food is from it being home grown/caught? I wanted to get the guidebook to go with the game, but they didn't have it today!

So far I've seen snow, rain, and hail. It's like Springtime in Missouri!

I think the penguin only came in the house because of the fish on the wall. I wonder if he would be as interested in a fish tank? Watching him pick up the fish, stare at it in awe, and then gulp it down was hilarious!

I did learn that I'm going to have to remember to give my sim houses a roof! (I usually forget!) If it starts raining or snowing and they have no roof, they're quite unhappy!

I got the game on Wednesday, but I had too much going on to sit down and really play. I had a concert and then I got a stomach bug. I'm finally feeling like myself again.

I went into Riverblossom Hills and it was preset with two Winters. That was intentional. MaxoidSam lists other issues in a blog entry:

Noticed something else interesting earlier- when my Sim was outside in the cold for a long time, her skin went sort of pale, almost dead looking! She didn't freeze, but I thought the skin change was cool!

I noticed that too. Also, if you have kids, make sure they don't get too cold. I acidentally let one of the kids play too long and the social worker came and took him and his sister away!

That's what happened with the Roth family! It looked like Xander was in his Outerwear, but I guess he wasn't he froze while making a snowman and the Social Worker came and whisked him away. Do they do the same thing in summer if the kids get too hot in the summer?

I had Morty working out on the treadmill in the house and his little thermometer nearly maxed out red. He was indoors! I guess Sims can overheat from exercise? I didn't let it get that far.

Also, if you do boolProp and spawn the Rodney's Death Creator, it has two new deaths....lightning and hail.

I've played the Roths in the new 'hood. Sandra is at college and Morty and Stella are Elders now. I used the tombstone of L&D to spawn a new adult in the household, who promptly called the Adoption Agency to get Xander back. Before the Social Worker came, I killed off the new Sim. Xander's back in the house, but shows no familial relation to his parents or sister. Morty's trying to get into the Garden Club. I guess the yard wasn't decorative enough, but his garden was superb. Talking to plants is like magic.

I haven't played the Plant Sims yet. Has anyone had any luck turning a Sim into a Plant Sim?

I saw the Penguin on a Fall day. He just showed up and almost as quickly did a little side-step dance down the sidewalk and was chirping. It was cute. Now he shows up to chat with snowmen. I don't leave fish around, so I haven't seen him try to sneak one. Can Sims feed a fish to him?

I haven't played the Plant Sims yet. Has anyone had any luck turning a Sim into a Plant Sim?

I was playing a bit in the new neighborhood and my sim turned into a plant sim! My stupid Lemon tree keeps getting swarmed by bugs and I guess I sprayed it a bit too often! I was able to call the garden club during the day and buy some potion to get him back 'normal' again. But I did spend a few days of him as a plant person. It was nice to get the garden in shape with him being like that! The good news is that after I turned him back normal again, he was able to keep his gold gardening talent badge! Once you can talk to your trees and garden items it helps them stay healthy and thrive! I actually had so much vegetables and fruit that I couldn't stock any more in the fridge or the juicer! I had to sell some of it off!

I imagine the social worker could show up if the kids are too hot..but, even worse than that I was reading if your Sim overheats they can spontaneously combust! (Am I evil for thinking that is cool?!)

Anyone made any juice concoctions yet? I just planted lemon trees, but its fall so they'll be dormant soon I think.

I guess I need to play around with the gardening more- so far my plants have mostly been sickly! I haven't tried the plant sims yet, but they seem fun!

I had a sim pet die for the first time today! Now that I've been playing my legacy family for 7 generations, I'm used to Sim deaths, but the dog going made me sad! When the grim reaper threw a stick for him to fetch, it almost brought a tear to my eye! (That may be a sign that I need a break from the game! )

I'm getting ready to play my simself to get a career in Adventure! That one seems custom made for me! (Kungaloosh!)

Ok I think I am in heaven...a Sims thread on the DIS board-- what could be better????? I am off to play the Sims right now (it will be my first run at the game with all the expansions/packs because our pc was broken for so long)

Oops! I didn't know hail could kill them! I just sent the teenager from my Legacy family out on a first date, and it hailed the whole time. I just made them suffer through it! I guess they got lucky!

Same here. I passed on Celebrations. There was nothing new that grabbed me. I'll probably get the H&M SP though. I like clothes.

And the latest rumors about Sims 2:Bon Voyage will give us plenty to contemplate over the summer...

I have Seasons, and I'll tell you, It always rains! luck of the british.. Thunderstorms are REALLY scary! How loud are they?!!

Here is an interesting Fact for you. All Sims esp. animals, if there is not command already told to them, will only got and statisfy their need. If you go CTRL-ALT-C, and then type in "Maxmotives on" and then "Motivedecay off", then all sims will stop until another sim interacts with that sim.. Brillent! And Of course, it allows you to keep going and going with stuff.

Works well with pets!!!!

Oh man when I first started playing Seasons, I had my headphones on through the computer speakers! I heard a clap of thunder and I just about wet myself it was so realitic! Scared the heck out of me too!

No letter jumble is needed. Jyst typing kaching will get you 1000 simoleons per use. For 50.000 simoleons, type motherlode.
