Now that the AWESOME AP rates are out we are going to stay in a deluxe , but now it is a toss up. I really want to stay at AKL and have a savanna view, but Dale wants to stay in the Bay Lake Towers at CR. The room at AKL would be about $250 less than CR, but being on the monorail line would be cool too. Decisions, decisions, decisions.........


I also talked to a CM at Disney and she said I could upgrade using the pin code I had even though it has expired. She said I would have to talk to someone in Guest Services, but since I booked before the code expired it would still apply. I called before I signed on to the passholder sight or I wouldn't have even bothered.


On a side note. I woke up this morning feeling like a truck had hit me and I have been running a fever. I hope it isn't the flu, I fought with the piggie in October and I don't want to fight with his cousin now. I sure hope it is just the fact I didn't get in the bed until 4:30 this morning when I told Amanda it was time for her party guests to GO HOME.

Looks like you have some decisions to make too Dana. Sure you don't want to come over to the Poly with Becky, Mary, and I.... What a hard choice you have AKL or CR. The only negative to AKL to me would be waiting for buses and the ride on the bus as it is the farthest from everything but AK. Other than that it is a beautiful resort. As for CR, the theming is a bit too modern for me but it does get you on the monorail which would be awesome. We've made the walk between CR and MK and it is a super easy one. Oh what great choices to have to make huh? Upgrades all around. I love it! 2010 is starting out great.

You are very welcome. I think anyway to save money is a good thing . I think being on the monorail would be so nice and being able to walk over to the MK. Dale like the theming at CR for some reason. It just looks kinda outdated to me.

I do. I haven't even looked at places like YC or BW they may be really cool too. I need to price out the Poly too and see what I come up with. We use our car so AKL location wouldn't be a problem. Dale doesn't like to ride the buses. He will ride the monorail. I guess what I really need to do is see where most of my ADRs are and see what resort would play out better. I'm not sure if I would like WL because I disliked the Cabins so much.
I think Dale will win out in this. The good thing about APs now, if you want to upgrade and add the DDP you can. I don't think we are going to do the DDP.

You know it isn't too soon to start planning a Disney trip. It is never too early . That is an awesome graduation gift. It is an awesome gift no matter what the occasion . We had an OK holiday season, I hope you had a good one too. I have just been trying to stay sane and Friday I woke up feeling bad and Saturday I woke up feeling worse and it has progressed to full blow sick. I am up now because I feel too bad to sleep. I guess I will eventually get over everything that is going on with me . Miss talking with ya. Have a very Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you again soon .

Sorry to hear you've been sick dude, sucks to ring in the new years like that!!! We had a nice quiet new years at home with both kids, had Sami for 2 weeks, and it went good! To start planning this trip, I need to get her to get the dates together so I can actually BOOK it. I told her last night I want 5 full days with her, cause she was talking about only coming down for a weekend!! YIKES!!!! So....she's making me paranoid, and I'm hoping disney announces the military deal again....so this will be less of a sting on us financially! LOL Anyways...as soon as I can get details situated, then I'll start a PTR...this one should be fun!! There will be 6 of us, us 3 and her and her 2 kids, one is 14 the other is 7. I haven't seen them in 2 years!!!! She has an idea I got something up my sleeve, and if she finds out what it is before I book it, she won't let me do it. She's saying just being there for her graduation is enough, but I don't want that to be enough. Anyways....now I'm just rambling!!!! I hope you feel better, get good rest today, I'm back to work tomorrow, and Tyler is back to school on tuesday!!! we're also planning on going to sea world for my birthday in 2 weeks....lord I'm gonna be 36!!! Hi Christie! Glad to see you posting again. A surprise graduation trip would be awesome. A lunch or breakfast meet up works great for me. I have some tentative ADR's but I don't mind changing them at all. Just let me know what works best for you guys. Dana has the picky eaters so maybe we better let her decide.

I read your post about upgrading to a deluxe resort and thought that I had responded but I guess I didn't.

Have you guys decided where you are going to stay yet? I've always wanted to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge but it has no appeal to John. When we went to Chef Mickey's, we walked over from the Magic Kingdom and thought how it must be great to simply walk to the park from the resort. But, then, we went into the resort itself and walked around a bit. It didn't appeal to me at all. I know that it's supposed to look modern but to me, it looked too plain.

I am sure that, no matter where you decide to stay, you'll be happy as can be.

That is a TOUGH decision. I LOVE the theming at AKL, plus the pool is great. I have stayed at CR in the tower before (in 2000) & the view & convenience couldn't be beat. If I had to choose a monorail resort, though, I LOVED the Polynesian. Still- AKL is my favorite. I love the restaurants, sights, smells, decor, activities, pool, and gift shop! It just is a little inconvenient if you don't rent a car. I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks Leanne!! It does feel good to be back among the living!! Little update, my job situation was getting VERY bad, after my september trip we had a change in management at our branch, and it wasn't going very good for me with this lady. I knew her, she is our loan officer too, but we never "clicked" like she does with the other people. I was being written up for stupid crap, and fell into a pretty deep depression. My dr put me on zoloft a month ago, so I'm snapped out of it now, and am doing better at work. Still not clicking with this lady, but she's not writing me up left and right either. Sorry to everyone for not being here, I wasn't here for the family either. Chris was VERY concerned, and I was neglecting Tyler, even tho he did help me out alot, and probably abusing the dogs! So....the dogs are back to liking me, and the girls at work. So...all better!!!

So, Dana, pick a place so we can make an ADR for breakfast or lunch, you choose, since Leanne was right, your gang is the pickiest!! I guess after we do that, we'll need a head count so we can let them know how many people to expect. So....I guess just give your advice on things, and we can start there. I don't really care where we go, park, restaurant, etc. So....we're good!! I really enjoyed Kona, but I think we'll go there in June. I also liked Crystal Palace breakfast, and Chris did too. When we went on the 19th, Chris was smelling the bacon and wanted some!!!!! So, thats my imput!!!

It sounds like ya'll had a nice holiday. I know it is always nice when the whole family can be together. I had planned a Christmas party here, but after I got hurt I had to cancel. I know you will have fun planning the trip for your friend. I love making plans and knowing someone will be experiencing something great. It can put a lot of pressure on ya though if you are trying to plan dining, especially when you have folks like I have . Are you going to plan on staying in the Cabins again? I just didn't like them. It could be because it was more like a swamp than a camp ground the week we were there . Happy early Birthday!!! 36 wow that is old...........NOT. I will be 47 in March. Dale's birthday is Wednesday and he will be 48 .
I don't mind where we eat. Dale will eat anywhere they serve a hamburger and Dallas will eat the kids pizza or a grilled cheese. I looked at a GG breakfast they have at Tony's and mentioned it to Leanne, Mary, Lisa and Becky. Becky said she may not be able to do it, but if we don't do that we can just make a big ressie somewhere else. Kona may be a good idea, because they never seem to be too busy.

We haven't decided where to stay yet. I keep playing with the numbers and I'm like a kid in a candy shop, everything looks good and I want some of all of it . I'm even considering a split stay which I know is kinda stupid, but we could all get what we want. I think the decor at the CR is outdated and plain too. The rooms at the BLT are really pretty, but as far as resorts go the inside of the Poly is the prettiest to me. GF is beautiful, but it is kinda stuffy, Dale said he didn't think he would fit in there. He doesn't like the idea of AKL either, he said he didn't want to wake up smelling animal poop every morning .

The pool is always a consideration for Dallas. I wish we could add another day to our trip so we could have one day at the resort, but the way I have to work every other weekend, and have to get someone to cover for me for vacation, it just isn't going to play out that way. I priced out the Poly with the DDP at AP rates and it came out to be something like $2500 or so, that is a great price. We always have a car because we drive down so location isn't a big problem. Thank you April, I hope I feel better soon too . I had enough going on with out this addition .

Thank you Mary. I have got to feel better before tomorrow, I have an ultrasound scheduled for my leg. The Poly is so beautiful. The first time we ate at Kona I told Dale I wanted to stay there someday, welllllllll maybe it is someday . Once I book it he will be happy no matter where we stay.

I saw that when I looked at the rest of the discounts this evening. I knew you would be happy about that . Hey 4 days at Disney is better than 10 days anywhere else. When we went in July it was only for 2 days and it was one of the most fun times we have been. I would tell her so she doesn't back out at the last minute and not know what you had planned. And it would be fun planning it together since she has 2 kids. Have they ever been to Disney?

I'm glad things are better at work. I wish I was at work. I miss working. I complain about it at times, but it is so much better than sitting here and doing nothing.
Crystal Palace or Kona is fine with me. mmmmmmmmmmmm I love the smell of bacon too, it is so good.

decisions, decisions,...tough choices...when I finally do decide when we are going I think I'm going with a mod...but, I would love to stay at the Poly, AKL, or WL one day! I think our next trip 5 years from now will be in a deluxe. Since, I probably need two rooms I have to think POP or mod...

but, you do have some great prices listed! if I were working now I think I would go with a deluxe; although the CSR sounds like a great place (just a little on the big side)--I like the idea of the two queen beds.

GREAT Christmas pictures...I have mine on the computer just need to upload to photobucket next...was going to do that but I started reading PTR/TR's and well time has flown by...I really need to go collect Mr. Ashton from Gwendolyn's room and go to bed...no wonder Danny was not anxious to get a new power cord

Well, her 2 kids have been to disney, we went 3 years ago to MK for one day for my birthday, 2 days at MK during hurricane wilma, we were evacuated from the keys to orlando, tough life, I know! HAHA And then once to MGM for my dad's 60th birthday, that was almost 4 years ago now! her smaller one may or may not remember...last time we were there he was four, and his favorite ride was the monorail!! HAHA He's now 7, and is probably tall enough to ride most everything. Her daughter is 14 and has been many times, just don't think she's been to AK, I know my friend hasn't been to AK. So...I'll tell her as soon as I can!! I'm burning to tell her!! then she just gotta get me the dates, I think I have june 18 to the 22 in mind now...it's just gotta jive with her graduation schedule. Anyways, just home for lunch...so I can chat more later. TTYL dude!!! Feel better!
