THE RETURN of THE WHATLEYS MAY 21-30. Our trip is done, now time for the TR :(

A couple of hours after Dale called me to let me know our vacation dates were safe he called me back. He said his dad had just left and had given Dale a box and a note from his mother . He said the note read that she was giving away her diamond jewelry and in the box was the ring she wanted Dale and me to have. It is a 1 carat diamond ring. I haven't seen it yet, but if it is the one I'm thinking about it is the one she always wore :scared1:. She told Dale we could do whatever we wanted to with the ring. I'm gonna wear it and give it to Amanda when she gets married. I want it to stay in the family. I'm concerned though, why would she be giving all of her jewelry away?
Dale's birthday is tomorrow and last week his dad dropped by his job and gave him his birthday card. Dale's parents live very close to where he works. He works in Lucedale, Mississippi( a very small town) at a small company. They always give $40 which, to me, is a pretty nice birthday gift since his birthday is 2 weeks after Christmas. When he opened his card it had $100 in it. Dale said they have NEVER given $100 for a birthday, I know in the 23 years we have been together they haven't.
It may not mean anything, but as a nurse I have seen this kind of behavior in patients with terminal illnesses. Dale's parents aren't necessarily my favorite, but I sure wouldn't want anything to be wrong. They are my kids grandparents.

It'll be alright dude, maybe they had a little leftover holiday spirit?? Who knows!! But, if you really feel weird about it, can you ask them?

I'm sure it's nothing...but, all of you are in our prayers! :grouphug:

You are probably right. Thanks for the prayers.

Could be Christie, it could also mean she is getting all new stuff :rotfl2:. I don't know if they would tell us anything if we asked. I'm gonna see if Dale's brother mentions anything.

That is a little strange Dana, but it's probably nothing. Hang in there girl! Still excited over here. :goodvibes

Thank you Leanne. I am still excited here too. I have been hinting at club level, but he isn't taking the bait yet :lmao:

Dana, I am so excited for you to get to go the Poly. That is totally wonderful. You girls will have such fun. I'm way jealous for sure. I'll be thinking of you and you can be talking about me.

Now to more serious things. Yes you are a nurse and you know any personality changes or behaviour changes are serious in elderly people. Dale might want to talk to them and see if he can find out if something is going on with them. Will be praying for them for sure. The gifts are grand. My mom went thru that many years ago of giving things away. She said she wanted to be sure certain people got what she wanted them to have.

Now about your leg/ankle. I know torn ligaments can be every bit as painful as a break or bad sprain and take time to heal. We must get you well. You have to go to the Poly for Pete's sake.

OK, your sign is bigger and flashier than my sign. Don't ya love friendly competetion?

Ginny

Has anyone signed up for the Give a Day program yet? I just found one for Dallas and me. From what I could tell it is to bring some supplies to our local Ronald McDonald House. I think RMH is a wonderful charity.
I was beginning to think they were not going to have anything Dallas could do. Most everything was for older kids.

I think it is going to be sooooo much fun. Dale just isn't falling for the club level spiel though :confused3. You know we will be thinking about you and wishing you were with us.

Yeah, it was just a total surprise when Dale called me this morning. The ring she gave us is the ring I was thinking of. I don't know if they would tell Dale anything either. I am just going to wait and see if they say anything else.

I am just hoping when I go to the doctor on Thursday I will get the news I want and not another big run around. You are right about being better for Disney. If I have to I will rent a wheelchair and roll around in it.

I know my sign is bigger and flashier........;). Honestly though, I got if from photobucket and all of them were that size when I put them in my siggie line. The only one that was small was a Roll Tide sparkle sign and I put that on last night, well this morning it said the photobucket account had been closed :sad2:.

I love a good friendly rivalry.

Sounds like a great cause and opportunity Dana. We are doing it as a family. We are having a party for the residents of a long term care facility. We will be baking a bunch of cupcakes, taking them with. The residents, the girls, and I will be decorating them and then the girls and I will painting the ladies' nails and doing some simple make up. Joe will be getting some board games going. Josie won't qualify to earn a fastpass but that doesn't matter at all. I'm just glad she can participate. :goodvibes I think Disney has really done a great job with this new promotion.

YAY!!!! I'm so excited that you will be staying at the Poly, too!!!! :dance3::cool1::dance3:

And I LOVE your glittery elephant in your siggy!!! Whoo hoo!! ROLL TIDE!!!! :cheer2:

The girls are going to have fun doing that. Amanda and Tyler went to a VERY small (25 kids in the whole school) private school when they were elementary level. One Christmas the whole school went to a long term care facility and gave the residents a Christmas party. They sang carols, put on a little skit, we took food, and the kids made each resident a little gift. It was such a sweet thing for them to do. You could tell it really made everyones day. I too think this is a wonderful thing Disney is doing. If 1 million people do it look at the benefit to the communities. And once people start volunteering there will be some that will continue doing it just because it gives them a feeling of accomplishment.

I'm not sure what all ours will entail, from what I gathered it will be just to take supplies to the house. I am hoping it will be more than that so Dallas can get a chance to do something other than carry bags of groceries and supplies in a house. He does that here :lmao:.

We will definitely be thinking of you Ginny. :goodvibes

Ginny you WILL be in our thoughts :goodvibes.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited too Becky. I can't wait to get there. I don't think we are going to stay club level. Dale had a good point in that we would be paying extra and not really using the amenities, because we would have to be at the hotel most of the time to enjoy the extras. I think we are going to like the pool though :cool1:.

Thanks, I found it on photobucket. They had a lot of stuff. We only have one more day before the BIG game..ROLL TIDE ROLL

Hey Dana, guess what?? I got DH talked into a TREEHOUSE at SSR!!!!!! And, they're letting us do DELUXE dining with the military deal this year!!! HOLY CRAP!!!! I'm excited. I'm gonna book next friday....the day before my birthday!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! Then, it'll be time to start the PTR!! This one might be exciting!!! LOL I sold Chris on the deluxe dining by saying we can get his breakfasts, he LOVED the bf at CP, so he wants that, and I threw in a few more breakfasts. I just gotta get the dates together from Syl....hmmmm......then, it's bookin city!! I'm doing it myself this year, mostly because, well, I wanna!! Plus, I think I want that photopass discount LOL And, if they're doing the discounted gift cards, I want one of those too!! LOL Anyways...just wanted to share my excitement, it's gonna be a pretty penny, but Syl doesn't need to know that!! I'm doing the treehouse, cause she's not sure if her husband can come or not, so I'd rather book big, and not need it, then book small, and need it. If he doesn't go, we can always take my step daughter!!! If he does go, I might add her anyways!! LOL WOW....excitement so early!! And it's not even friday!! WOOHOO!!! I hope you have a wonderful day!! I gotta get my driver's license renewed this morning, it expires on my birthday next weekend...BLAH!!!!!! I hate getting my DL picture done!!!!

Hello Miss Dana. I'm home today. How was your Dr. appointment? I hope you have good news.

Today is game day. Mike has been glued to his TV since 11. Sheri says he refuses to move cause he might miss it. Moron. Gotta love him.

Springfield has shut down today. The boss called at 7 and said no work. Sheri and Mike didn't work. No school. Don is the only die hard out there. I bet he has to work over today too.

How was Dale's Birthday? Hope he had a great one.

Keep us posted.

OH WOW :woohoo::yay:. I'm excited for you. That is amazing I would LOVE to stay in the tree houses. I saw some pictures of the tree houses and they are so neat. I am scared of heights, but I don't think it would bother me. Well not if they weren't too high up. Congrats on the deluxe dining, girl ya'll are gonna have a great vacation. I plan on adding the dining plan, Dale just don't know it :rolleyes1:lmao:. I would book big too and then you have the room. Better safe than sorry. I saw on the news a couple of days ago that we can renew our drivers license online now :confused3. I did our car tags online in October and it was awesome not to have to spend all day waiting around to get a tag.

Well, you know now how the doctor went. I will post it again for those who don't follow us on FB.

Dale has gone into the bedroom. He said he is too nervous to be in the room with all of us :confused3:lmao:. Talk about a Moron :rolleyes1.

They were calling for snow here, but I haven't seen any yet. It is getting really cold outside and it is still raining soooooooooooooo who knows.

Dale's birthday went fine. I made a cake and then made a mess of it. I cut it in the shape of a football, but then I couldn't frost the sides and I had a plate full of cut up cake :scared1:. So, I frosted the top of the football and cut the scraps up into pieces and put a layer in a cup, the a layer of ice cream, then a layer of cake so forth and so on. They raved more about that than the cake.

As I have posted recently my ultrasound showed no tear of the achilles. So today when I saw Dr. Daugherty he tells me I don't need surgery and I need to come back and see him two weeks from today so he can "fire me":cool1::dance3::woohoo::yay::cheer2:. He said I needed to wean off the boot and not just take it off and go "cold turkey". I called and had them put me back on the schedule starting January 22nd.

Now if Alabama would just win the game.

Hey there...been looking through your PTR :) Sounds like you're going to have lots of fun. Too bad we couldn't have gone in 2009. Oh well!! I've started a PTR myself.

That's fantastic news Dana! Congrats! Looks like y'all won Dana!

You won. Just because your mascot was bigger than mine. I'm sure Dale is happy and Mike is crying.

I'm working tomorrow and it is going to be colder tomorrow and Saturday than it was today. Have a fun celebration. Congrats Dale
