uggh, I hate jury duty! I seem to be graced with the invitation to be a jurer (is that a word?) more often than anyone else I know. D.Jay hasn't had to the entire 17 years we've been married, I think my last count was 7.

It is a word, but it's "juror".... I've been on one case and called just a handful of times. Not that often to be horrible... maybe D.Jay is running from the law and hasn't registered to vote or with the DMV... that's how they get us over here... and if you're on both, you're on two lists... maybe you're on a whole bunch of lists so that's why you're called so much... :-) :headache:

I despise jury duty. Sadly, it's because the 1st time I was summoned, I sat all day. I was 18 and it was a big time murder trial. I was scared out of my mind...and though they never asked me any questions, I had to sit all day and listen to the summary of the case and listen while they questioned prospective jurors. It sucked. Luckily, I was realeased at the end of the day.

I was summoned again the beginning of this year...however, couldn't get anyone to take off to watch our two year old. So, I claimed vacation and I will be summoned again in June.

thanks! I'm hopeless at spelling...If it's possible to miss-spell something I will figure it out.

it's because they know you are so just and will uphold the law with dignity and winker-ism-ness. :rotfl:

maybe I should submit my pole pictures next time...that would make them change their minds.

... while I'm sitting here at jury duty... I've already done my reading for bible study tomorrow and I forgot my securID card so I can't log into work... so I guess I'll just DIS and Facebook for a while... hee hee hee. Thank goodness for Wifi at the courthouse.

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I had jury duty not too long ago. Our "new " courthouse is da bomb. We have WiFi comfy chairs and 3 large screens in the other room for movies.
I joked that I felt like I took a trip
Walk in go through security- like the airport
present summons as a juror- boarding pass
listen to all the prejury stuff- preflight on the plane
Dis all day - just like being at WDW!!!

at least in my mind.:thumbsup2

Now, I'm scheduling from 5pm-10pm nightly and all day Sat and Sun to catch up on the 2009 trip! hmm, I think I have becoming addicted to Jordy.

Hello, my name is Camille and I'm addicted to Jordy's TR.
You've joined the club my friend. Happy to have you on this crazy train.

You will not believe, I am so totally caught up on all the reading.....my house is unclean, the laundry is undone, work...hahaha...well let's just say I still have job for now... ;) Now I get to join in on all the fun!

Hey Jordo... February sounds like a good plan... if we did make it, it would only be me and Toni... The kids would stay home... I think it would be a blast!

WHOA! Now THAT is cool! I want your courthouse!!! Well, I am now in the running for jury selection (which should happen over the next few days)... AND, it's a lengthy trial (1 month)... sigh. However, it's just for the afternoons so I can still work in the a.m. So I have to go in tomorrow to see what work says, and then report back after lunch to the courthouse for jury selection.

Keep you posted, but unfortunately probably won't get to DIS all day if I'm actually sitting in the courtroom. Judge might frown on that. Hee hee hee.

Wish me luck...

Uh, I'm *NOT* going to ask my dad about that!!!! :scared1: I'll settle to live in ignorance.

Thanks for your kind words... he's going great, considering! Can't wait for it to be over and he can get back to getting better.

Uuuuuuuh, yeeeaaaa......I don't think that would be a question I would ever ask my dad either! :rotfl:

So, I am one of the choir directors at the elementary school where I teach. We have a 3rd/4th grade choir, so many of the songs we sing are 'cutsie', not quite legitimate repertoire.

Yesterday, we were singing through some potential spring selections. We turned the page of the songbook and I laughed out loud when I saw the title:

"These are My Peeps"
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The song is AWESOME... all about my peeps who hang out with me and make my day fun. (Of course, it's referencing the Easter candy treat, but who cares.. I wasn't even thinking of those!)

I'm going to bring my camera to the next rehearsal and get a video of it so y'all can hear it. It is a perfect song for Peepfest 2012!;)

Have a great Wednesday!

That's so cute! I can't wait to hear it!!!

Jordy, I have to say the land part would work for me, I don't do well on boats, and I would be concerned about the money going into it. With that in mind I would love to do a 8-9 day trip staying at the POP. If Amanda (Pipersmom) can swing it, she's talked about trying to come as well. :woohoo: I'm pretty sure she would only do the land portion. Wouldn't that be a hoot having a lot of peeps in the POP!
Besides it will be my year of turning 40! :yay: So it will be a celebration for me as well. Let's see, that's You, Rosie, her friend Christina (hope I got that right) and I can't remember what other wonderful Diser said it was their birthday? :confused3 :woohoo: This will be a celebration to beat all other celebrations!! Would love to be a west coaster just to fly in with Leisa, Cynthia, and Cherie....I know I'm leaving someone off of here...Terry's wife! Sorry I forgot your name. :guilty: I know you live in Oregon, does that count for anything?!? :goodvibes That would be one heck of a flight, we would be banned for sure from the airline, after that flight. :rotfl:

Good to know that you're thinking of coming

I'm really surprised you got up so early after such a late night! Impressive. :thumbsup2

I've been trying to work in a breakfast at Kona for my January trip. We ate there for my birthday dinner last year, but I'd like to try breakfast. Which table service restaurant is your favorite (non-character meal) for breakfast?

Wish I could join you all for peep fest. But, our next trip after January probably won't be until 2013 when Chuck retires from the navy.

There's some news later in the trip regarding the lack of sleep.

Wendy, Derek and I used to love Spoodles breakfast when it was a buffet (1997,1999).

Now, we haven't made it to a breakfast since. This is my first breakfast in years at WDW.....

:sad2:Wish you could join us.

I wish I could shut off an alaram and go back to sleep that easily :sad2:

I can't wait to be looking at that pool tomorrow :cool1: I am also hoping I get to use it at some point :)

Kona breakfast looks so good!

I don't think I would be a fan of Tonga Toast just because I don't like french toast or sweet foods in the morning... I do want to try the macadamia nut pancakes though!

Sorry about your random act of kindness not going the way you wanted it to..All that matters is that you went out and tried to do something nice for strangers :)

I missed your send off! Have a great time!

I love bananas and I love toast...the Tonga Toast was really good, just prefer meat, eggs and potatoes for brekkie.

The upside of not being able to give away the food...I've had dinner for the last few nights:thumbsup2

Yeah, Camille, just think of all the Peeps at the POP! I didn't know Amanda was thinking of it too!!! Very fun!

Hi J, I see you're up and "on". How was your day?

You are better man than me, i would have still been sleeping;)

It was my first day so I was determined to get up.

i had chips for dinner tonight..:rolleyes1

8:19's not a bad start for your late night. I bet those Gardettos in your belly were growling for some company. I don't like Tonga Toast either. Okay, I've never had it, but if someone stuck some bananas in my french toast, it might come to blows!

I love bananas (mushy ones make me gag though).

you sound just like my husband.

The snooze button is my friend.

i'm drooling. and i mean it this time. looks so much better than my coffee and oatmeal i just ate.

what???? :scared1: oh, the horror!!!! blasphemy! how could you not love it????? actually, i totally get it. i think i'm the only person on the disboards who doesn't like ohana. i thought it was loud and chaotic and the meat was dry and gross. but that's just me. and like you said....more for everyone else! i love tonga toast so much though that i attempt to make it home...and it's not easy!

I enjoyed it. I just wouldn't get it again when meat and potatoes can be had. I tried it though...:thumbsup2

dawn said:
it goes well with what look like the house slippers she's wearing.

I didn't even notice.

dawn said:
and that's sometimes very hard to do. i hear ya. my grandfather stopped a few years ago and offered one of those guys $100 for 6 hours of work helping him bale hay. pretty good money if you ask me. the guy said, "no, thanks. i can make more just standing out here begging." i don't want to judge either but if those people were truly desperate they would probably go to a shelter or a mission somewhere. what kills me is when they have a dog with them

I try not to judge because we really don't know their story....it's still a bit disheartening.

dawn said:
again, you sound just like my husband. i was just looking at his debit receipts from when i was out of town and he spent $21 on sodas, junk food and candy at the QT (gas station) one night while i was gone. :confused3

Go ray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Yeah, Camille, just think of all the Peeps at the POP! I didn't know Amanda was thinking of it too!!! Very fun!

Hi J, I see you're up and "on". How was your day?

Yesterday was a killer day. out of the house at 8am back at 11pm. Today was better, but draining emotionally--in a good way. Out at 7am home by 6:30pm.

I just vegged and decided I better try and catch up. Tomorrow another 11-14 hour day.

I'm not sure if I would be a fan of Tonga Toast either. Its on my to do list.

Its hard not to have bad thoughts about those two people. But look at it this way, probably their addicition to whatever outweighs anything. So they needed cash. For that you can feel a bit sorry for them.

You are a good man. ;)

Great update as always. :dance3:

It was worth trying for sure!

I do feel for them. We all have areas of brokenness.

Thanks TracI.

MMMMMmmmmmm.... Tonga Toast! Can't say I can eat the whole thing in one sitting, but I'm a big fan. The strawberry stuff never appealed to me either. That would just be sweetness overload.

I love how you took a picture of the alarm clock. Were you sleeping with your camera? :lmao:

Actually, if you're planning on going in February, I'd prefer those dates. I'm pretty flexible so I might just decide when the date gets closer.

I'd like a half a tonga toast, some eggs and lots o meat.

I did sleep with the camera...on the nightstand next to the bed.

Many people are voicing Feb as a viable option.

Ok, I had the weirdest dream last night. I was getting ready for a Disney trip and reading a travel book. Ok, not so weird so far. I start reading and realize the book is your TR! Each up date was a different color and the emoticons weren't smiley faces they were marshmellow peeps! :confused3 :lmao:
Ok, Jordan, stay out of my head! :rotfl:
Now to read what I missed while dreaming of your TR.
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

At least it wasn't a nightmare.

Still haven't tried Tonga Toast:mad: probably cause I can't seem to make it up and to Breakfast :lmao:

For what it is worth if you do a short trip in Feb count me in!!!

feb---check.

I'm glad I got up to go to Kona.

I think it was very kind of you to go find homeless people to give food to. I don't understand why they didn't take it.

Yall breakfast looked good. I think I would try the Tonga toast if it doesn't have coconut in it. I hate coconut. Cherie really loves those poles. She should install one in her house since she is doing a remodel. LOL! I can't wait to hear all about Epcot. I might run away from home one day and go on a solo trip to Disney World like you did. I am taking notes from your report for when I make a break for it. :rotfl2: I might decide to run away in Feb. of 2012:thumbsup2 You never know.

I think they wanted money for a place to stay overnight or drugs.

No coconut in the TT.

Cherie did you hear that...install pole in your house.

feb 2012!!!!

I think I would have had to sleep longer. :crazy2:
I can't wait to try the Tonga Toast.
Yowzer to the line for MK! :scared1: I hope Epcot was a little more tolerable.

I should've slept longer, but I would've missed cherie and djay.

Epcot was.........:rolleyes1

Okay all caught up !!! I had forgotten about the expensive cab ride !!! I also have not tried Tonga Toast but seeing as I put SALT :scared1::lmao:on my pancakes I think it is safe to say I wouldn't care for it:rotfl2:However the steak and eggs lokked GOOD !! Godd choice DJ!!!:goodvibes

Salt on pancakes??!!!!!!!

I wished I had ordered a side of eggs or hash browns.

Glad it was "in a good way". Conflict or confrontation is always hard in a bad way. But even "in a good way" 14 hour days are killer. Hang in there!!

I think your Feb. takers are racking up!

Good to know that you're thinking of coming

:goodvibes I've already told my DH that I wanted to go to the Peeps Fest and did he want to come, he has a hard time around lots of other people he doesn't know. Still can't figure out why he married me since I've never met a stranger. He said he passes, but some how now doesn't seem to have reservations about me going. So the bug has been planted. :goodvibes

Yeah, Camille, just think of all the Peeps at the POP! I didn't know Amanda was thinking of it too!!! Very fun!

Hi J, I see you're up and "on". How was your day?

:goodvibes She is, hope she'll be able to make it. I'll let her be the one to tell the details.

Yesterday was a killer day. out of the house at 8am back at 11pm. Today was better, but draining emotionally--in a good way. Out at 7am home by 6:30pm.

Take care of yourself Jordy, we don't need you getting sick again. :sad2: We need our friend healthy, is it strictly work or are you doing other things that are keeping you on the go?

Great update. A few thoughts:

~ Isn't winkers sweet? She is VERY easy. Easy to talk to that is.

~ The Tonga Toast looks like a big brick of powdered covered elimination! It looks gnarly to me. And it's filled with banana- even worse. :rotfl: ETA: Saw OhMari's warning.

~ Your June fest sounds like SO much fun. I wish I could go and could maybe swing it alone but with Gabby's bat mitzvah next year, I am sure it will take me that long to get out of debt paying for it. Those things cost as much as a wedding. :faint: Have fun. if I was able to go, I would vote land/sea. :thumbsup2

Thanks Jenny.

Winkers is the best. We all had a great time together.

Tonga was all that bad just not my cup o' tea.

Well I'll keep you updated on deets. How much longer til mexico or have you gone and come back?

Back from vacation, and all caught up!

How was the vacay?

I have still yet to try the tonga toast. Cute pics of you and Miss Winkers!!!!

Thanks Heather. Everyone should try TongaToast once.

Too funny that you've taken photos of your underwear, well that's what I assume choonies are :rotfl:

I don't like bananas so Tonga Toast is off limits to me plus it's enormous :faint: But..... I did like the strawberry sauce that came with it :rotfl:

Chonies=underwear.

Yeah, if you don't like bananas, tonga toast probably isn't a very good idea.:rotfl2:

You got the scenic route??? :rotfl:

Perhaps..;)

I tried the Tonga Toast the first time we ate breakfast at Kona, and I "liked" it for a dessert... but not for breakfast. I do like regular not rolled in sugar and stuffed with bananas French toast though. ;) Dh ended up eating most of it. He doesn't like sweets at all, but he likes me wasting food less. :rolleyes1

THAT'S IT!!!!! I was trying to figure it out. I mean I liked the Tonga Toast, but couldn't figure why it wasn't hitting the spot. I'd actually probably love it as a dessert.!

MyT Good for you for trying... unfortunately that is an all too familiar story I've heard.... even one kind hearted sole having food items thrown back at them in disgust... I don't get it. :confused3[/QUOTE said:
I can't believe food was thrown back at them.....oh well...gotta keep trying because some people really need it.

hat cab ride is like taking a cab in NY...actually WDW's cabs are more expensive. Crazy isn't it!? I liekd Tonga Toast BUT the Macadamia Nut Pancakes were SOOO good and you can get Tonga Toast for a lower price at Capt Cooks.

Cabs in CA are waay more expensive than even WDW....

Glad it was "in a good way". Conflict or confrontation is always hard in a bad way. But even "in a good way" 14 hour days are killer. Hang in there!!

I think your Feb. takers are racking up!

I'm pretty wiped out right now...

I'll have a 2012 update with my next update.

:goodvibes I've already told my DH that I wanted to go to the Peeps Fest and did he want to come, he has a hard time around lots of other people he doesn't know. Tell him to read my TR...he'll know exactly who I am....:)
