"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

So many great one liners last night but the best was "Cheeto Headed Tramp". Goodbye to the new Sheriff and does anyone else think that while Bill maybe sucked into the whole Lilith thing Eric is still faking it because he knows he will eventually have to save his friend Bill? Oh and I think Salome is part Fea also.

Yeah I'm not totally sold on Eric just yet. If anything I suspect Lilith destroying his maker (even in hallucination?) has only strengthen his resolve to stop it all. So yeah, he may be trying a different tactic. Both him and Bill showed an edge of concern when Russell alluded to knowing where to go for Fae blood.

Eric is for sure faking it. (IMO anyway)

What sold me was when he "forgave" Russell for slaughtering his family. He would NEVER honestly do that.

I think Russell knows he is faking it as well, but may be looking for an ally.

I do believe that Eric is faking it to keep himself alive. But I'm not 100% convinced that Bill isn't faking it too (to keep himself accepted inside the group so that he can monitor what they are doing).
Maybe it is just wishful thinking because I just can't stand the thought of Bill as a bad guy :rotfl2:

No, no, no, no, no!! I do NOT want them to turn Hoyt. His exit was one of the most respectful exits I've seen! (wishing there as a "smilie" of someone stomping their foot).

They turned Tara, that was enough turning for this season!

I don't think they'll change Hoyt. I think that was that storyline being neatly closed off. I'm glad they finally did that and left me less bitter about it being dragged out.

I agree. I also think that storyline & character has ended. I just don't think they needed a third of the episode to do it.

Did anyone else get teary eyed over Hoyt and Jason? Especially when Jason broke down in the car?:worried:

::yes:: I felt bad for Jason & Jessica. :sad1: I wondered if there wasn't a way to glamour Hoyt and just make him forget his feelings about Jessica and his anger at Jason. Then he could have stayed in town. But, sending him off to Alaska AND forgetting the two of them says to me they are ending his storyline.

I'm glad Jessica gave him a chance to experience a "first love" again with someone new. That is also why I think the show is finished with him. They let us know he will be alright after he's gone to Alaska. They finished his storyline really well and with a lot of grace. :thumbsup2

Anyone else think that Russell will still be alive at the end of the season?

Oh I definitely think he'll live until the next season. I think he'll be part of the set-up that brings the vampires to the Fae door step. I think Sookie is at one of the trail and he'll be at another and the two supe groups will meet in the middle.

I wonder if Bill, Eric, and Russell will enter a sort of alliance to take Salome down.
I also agree with the poster who said that Russell also knows Eric is faking his devotion to Lilith.

Doesn't look like anything will be wrapped up anytime soon... From the looks of things, season 6 should be called "season 5, part 2". I hope I'm wrong, because a year is a long time to wait for any resolution.

Agree. No time jump just like the end of last season.

Last night's episode was better than the rest, but of course it has to be short and the 2nd to last episode.

The elder fairy was ridiculous...

I hope they don't wrap up the Were thing and make that the focus of next season!

And I HATE Bill as a bad guy. I guess that's the point though.

I'm glad we won't be subjected to that elder fairy!! Big thanks to Russell on that one. :rotfl:

Lots of new "what ifs" added in last night and I actually enjoyed it. Wondering if this now means, though, that Alcide's dad is going to be sobering up under Alcide's care, etc.

I could not stand that fairy! When they do stuff like that it makes it *too* campy and ridiculous. Quite frankly I think the way they're handling the whole fairy aspect is campy and could have been done better. I don't quite understand why the fairies are acting so powerless against the vampires. They certainly are not!

What is with the short episodes?

I think this is the first time I've seen Eric smile (amnesiac Eric aside maybe). It was cute. I had a feeling he wasn't sold when he saw that hallucination of Lillith and Godric.

Speaking of Lillith - Now I'm trying to figure out what the deal is there. Is Lillith real? I'm wondering if whoever consumes all of the blood will then somehow be an open vessel for Lillith to return and that is why she has been asking everyone to take it, hoping that someone will.

I'm really not happy about Andy's storyline being thrown a wrench. I liked him and Holly.

Last night's episode was sorely lacking in Lafayette.

I hope that with Pam in the mix there she'll be able to shake things up and be the catalyst for things falling down. With Tara showing feelings for Pam, I suspect she'll try to come after her some how.

. I like the whole campy absurdness of the show which is why I like it to begin with. If it ever took a turn and ended up like the Twilight series I would probably have to bail on it

I am wondering if there is some sort of vampiric hallucinogen in the "blood of Lilith" that will pit all the vampires there against each other, killing each other off until the perpetrator is the only one left. (I can't believe I just typed that.)

I agree. In fact, one of my favorite scenes this season is when they staked the vampire working with Eric and Steve screamed "Yes! Yes! Oh my ...... I never actually seen a vampire get staked before! That was awesome!"

I can't stand all that campy stuff either. It's okay when it's a funny joke like if Eric makes a funny comment. But, when they make it part of one of the central storylines, I just shake my head. :sad2:

I was just thinking last night how True Blood always seems to have so much potential and promise, then the show gets campy or lame right as they get to the season finale and the season falls short of expectations. EVERY season has been like that, except the first with Rene.

With the Marianne storyline, we couldn't wait to get rid of her. The Church of the Sun was annoying. Then there was the whole Marnie thing.

I realized, I would have tuned out long ago, had it not been for Bill & Sookie and Eric. This season, even Sookie has kind of a weird storyline as she's not with either of the men or with Alcide. And there were way too many extraneous storylines & characters.

My HBO premium cable package ends tomorrow. I just called up to cancel it, rather than being hit with the jacked up rate, even for an extra week. It doesn't look like this storyline will be resolved next Sunday, and the show wasn't worth paying the extra money for the season finale. Although, I will also be missing The Newsroom, too, which has turned out to be a better show. :thumbsup2 I will probably be able to find the both online somewhere, and neither doesn't seem like something I just can't wait to see.

See I consider Twilight to be cheesey so :confused3. I liked the Steve Newlin comment too, that the pp mentioned, but there are other aspects that make me cringe and interupt my ability to remain absorbed in the story line. I liked how season 1 handled everything for the most part. It was a nice balance. I've seen the fae storyline handled in a more elder, mystical, powerful sense - even with a strip club being an aspect. For some reason (maybe the set up of the fae club?) it feels more circus and side show like right now via the show.
