"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

Are they ever going to explain how someone does get turned? People are getting bit and drinking vampire blood all the time and no one turns.

I'm liking this show but man is Jason one messed up boy.

Last night's episode was great but what's with Sam saying hi to the dog??? Just when I thought they were bashing us over the head with foreshadowing, then they show him and the dog together :confused3 . I can't wait to watch another week of the show next week!:lovestruc Glad that they already picked it up for another season!

UGH! WTH is up with Sam and Tara?!? She needs to go back into that tiny character that she is in the books. She's adding NOTHING to the story. I don't even mind that Lafayette is more prominent in this show. He's funny. Tara is just bitter and LOUD. She's just a hot mess.

When Tara was in the books, she added to them. I don't think she's adding to the HBO story at all.

I'm also curious about the dog. Not in the book, at least the first book.

At least Eric is introduced next week. Now, THAT I cannot wait to happen.

Mean Queen, what day is your birthday? Mine is Friday. Happy Birthday to us!!!

Papa Deuce, Sookie is the main character. When I was introduced to the books, I was told to read the Sookie Stackhouse books. Sorry, she won't be going anywhere, anytime soon.

Mine is on Sunday.

I'm glad that Tara isn't so annoying in the books. She really is just loud and obnoxious. Is Sookie's brother as big a mess in the books?

Oh, yeah! Only he's with even more women in the books.

I guess they don't have the ability to show that in the show without it turning into complete porn. :lmao:

For Sookies stair display, I figured it was part of the vampire blood effects. Bill said it would increase her libido.

The Tribe was a horrible movie! It was so bad, I couldnt watch it all. What was with Corey Feldman's voice?

What was he (and the director) thinking with that voice? That movie was just plain horrible! Unfortunately I watched the entire thing and it never got better. The only interesting info I came away with is the lead vampire is Kiefer Sutherland's half brother, Donald's son with a different mother.

I am pretty sure there are only 2 of them. Not the first one (no one can suffer when they watch that one:thumbsup2 ) It was the one with the brother and sister and the stupid Frog brother (Cory Feldman) that helped them- he never told us what happened to his brother:confused3 Like I really care:sad2:

I feel your pain:hug:

I watched the deleted scenes because they had Corey Haim listed in the credits but I didn't see him, he was in the deleted scenes. The other Frog brother became a vampire. I'm sure this has been keeping you awake at night, wondering what became of the other Frog brother :lmao:

That perplexed me, too. He did call the dog "brother" but where the heck did that dog come from?

I wish they would stop focusing on Jason so much. Of all the characters, he's the one who irritates me the most. And Tara and Sam?

I'm very happy that we get to meet Eric next week.

Any thoughts about the show? I finally read the first book and am currently looking for the second. I see a lot of differences. For one, Tara wasn't in it. Two, not one mention of V-juice. For other readers of the books, are these from later books or just added for TV?

I am not reading the series so all of this is brand new to me.;)

That being said....OMG.....Gram is dead.:scared1: Did not for the life of me expect that.:guilty:

I decided not to read them either- I do take in what you all post here though- I knew Eric was coming last week so I was ready for him! :worship: Niccccce!

(I know those of you who read the books will want to tell me exactly what the deal is with the following questions, but I am sure you will want me to find out on my own;) ).............What is UP with Sam sniffin' and rolling around on the sheets:rotfl2: And I do not trust him now. I think he is the one killing the girls and maybe Gram (to get back at Sookie?) I am probably wrong, but that is where I am at right now:rolleyes1

I am glad that most everyone accepted Bill at the church where he was giving his "history lesson" It was interesting to finally find out how he became, Undead:thumbsup2

:lmao: :rotfl2: There are no words for Jason- he just cracks me up- going to town with that girl and Tara catching them:lmao:

I can ask this of the people who read the book- when do we get to see more of Eric!? :lovestruc

I find that I'm not enjoying the series as much as I was hoping to - but I'll stick with it to the end.

I read the first book a year or so ago I think. Saw the commercials for the series, passed the book onto my sister who wanted to read it before watching.... As we started watching the show, only tiny bits were coming back to me (I have a bad memory like that). At one point my sis asked me about Sam and what he was.... I had completely forgotten. So between the first two episodes I reread the book. Um, where's Tara? I wasn't aware she was in later books (is she even mentioned in book 1???). She is annoying at an 11 (on a scale of 1 to 10), and the only reason why I can see her being in there is so that Sookie has a "close" female friend. I am completely baffled by the dog sitting next to / going up to Sam.... not in the book like THAT if I remember correctly??? Ack! I guess I'm not enjoying it as much because I'm confused about Sam and another dog, and Tara to me is just "there" and doesn't have a real purpose other than making it so that the "main" characters aren't mostly male at this point.

I think I'm getting abit wordy here.... (I loved the Anne Rice witch books much more than the vampire ones!), but if you're still with me.... Enjoy the show all! :dance3: :dance3:

The only reference to V in the first book was when the Rattrays were trying to drain Bill. It's really annoying me that Sookie drank from Bill, and I understand why, but she didn't have the psychotic reaction from it that Jason did/is.

I'll answer in ways that will not ruin anything for you. There is no reference to Sam rolling around on Dawn's bed and sniffing the sheets like he did on the show.

Gran's death on the show and in the books opens up a lot of questions about who could have killed her. Could Jason have done it in his V'd up stupor? While that wasn't part of the book, there were other references to the potential of it being Jason that were not in the series. Heck, with all the phone calls Gran got that day, it could have been anyone who hated that she was helping a vampire to mainstream. You'll just have to wait and see. ;)

In the books, they don't speak of Bill's turning point until several books into the series. But, I liked that they incorporated it into the show this early. It helps to visualize how he was turned. I enjoyed watching the reinactment of Tolliver's death. It was a part that was written descriptively in the book and I though was handled visually very well.

I will say that I really enjoyed the turning point in the story when Gran is killed. Gosh, that sounds bad, but the story gets really interesting at this point. Eric will be back again soon as he starts to use Sookie for her powers for his benefit.

I agree with Krista about everything she said about Tara. Sookie is a loner in the books. She knows everyone, of course, but she doesn't like listening in on people's thoughts, so why does she need a BFF in the series? I haven't figured it out yet. Overall, I liked Tara's presence (little as it was) in the books and I don't like her in the show.

Yep, there's lots more Eric as the books go on. :thumbsup2 Frankly, I am all about Eric. :rotfl: DH knows and we're good. Since he's a fictional character and all.

I liked last Sunday's episode but, even though I knew that Gran was going to die, it still made me really sad. I love the actress they chose to play her.

I was saddened by how Bill became a vampire. When he was taken back to his home just to look, it broke my heart.
