We haven't had power in two days and I lost Gossip Girl, True Blood and Big Brother...

I thought the first ep was pretty good. I love Eric, Pam, Sam and Alcee Beck so I'm waiting for more character development. I should be able to find a re-run this week, right?


ETA: Looks like 11:30 tonight. Whew!

I think that Gossip Girl may play again later in the week but sometimes I miss that one, too!

Enjoy True Blood ep#2-it was a good one! I felt like you could understand the chemistry between Sookie and Bill more this week.

Is Eric the one with longer blonde hair? Do you know who that is? It's Stellan Skarsgaard's son. He was recently in Generation Kill! I loved him in Generation Kill (even though I didn't totally get that show).

I did see that he was in Generation Kill-I looked him up on IMDB to see what he looked like . I watched one episode of Generation Kill to see the guy who is going to play Emmett in the movie Twilight but I couldn't pick him out-too many helmets! It's alot easier to pick him out in 90210. It's sad-I'm 40 and I'm watching all these teen shows but they're such good candy!

I think they made Tara's character a larger part of the story because she gives a lot of exposition and background to what's going on that's not really explained. I find myself laughing out loud at foreshadowing and little things that I know because I've read the books.
I am another who can NOT wait for Eric. Book 4 has more than 1 scene with him, its pretty much the entire book.

And, the Lost Boys 2 was worth watching if you loved the first one. The lead vampire is amazinging yummy. He's Keifer Sutherland's younger step-brother.

Which towns are they making sound close? In the book, the fictional town of Bon Temps is said to be about an hour from Shreveport and about 4 hours from New Orleans.

Most of the smaller towns do that here too...

I think the point my husband and I both shook our heads at- was when they were talking about someone getting hurt near Shreveport and going to the hospital in Monroe for it- we thought it was a little dumb to go a few hours away when shreveport (the larger of the two cities is right there- and there is no direct easy route between the two cities).

The accent thing is really bothersome- For such a small town- you wouldn't have so many different ones- and Rene's cajun accent is way too fake- most younger people even with strong cajun accents do not sound anything like that- and the southern twangs were off too- most were just a little too twangy for that area- it can sometimes be overlooked- and the story seemed a little interesting- but I was wondering if I was supposed to laugh at some parts that may not have meant to be funny

I didn't think it was totally horrible- and I didn't read the books- so I don't know any of the back story- just what I saw from the first episode

I think the whole Shreveport/Monroe thing has something to do with things that are in future books. Certain doctors are in certain places for certain "creatures." And, that's all I say to not ruin anything.

I thought it was a Spanish accent. I do agree that some of the accents are off, but I'm not surprised since three of the main actors aren't even American.

I thought so too, at first, but figured with a name like Rene, he would more likely be French. Though, wasn't his name in the first book, Lemay? Or am I thinking of someone else?

I am pretty sure there are only 2 of them. Not the first one (no one can suffer when they watch that one ) It was the one with the brother and sister and the stupid Frog brother (Cory Feldman) that helped them- he never told us what happened to his brother Like I really care

But by last week, I had totally forgotten about any accents and now I love almost all the characters but Tara is driving me up the wall. Is this a long series? 8 books so far & counting. You're only seeing a glimpse of what's to come. Stick with it... (also, Tara's role is MUCH more subdued in the books)...

I've read all of Charlaine Harris' books and am enjoying -- if not LOVING -- True Blood.
