"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

I just have to say, I just read books 3 & 4 this week. I started book 4 on Thursday night & finished it last night. I could not put that dang book down, it was too good. So far it is my favorite because of all the Eric in it. Now I'm aching to go pick up the rest (which I will probably do today, because I can't wait.)

For those of you that have read all the books, do you have a favorite one? Which one is it?

Anyone who hasn't read the books...what the heck are you waiting for?! They are damn good.

Well, if I read the books the show will be irritating. Do you find that to be the case or is it easily seperated?

While I am glad I read the books, the differences between the two can be irritating. The worst thing is generally the important details they cut, while adding stuff that never happened.

I totally agree. Personally, I enjoy the books far more than the series...there's so much detail and good stuff in them that they've just left out of the show.

That is what I thought, so I am going to wait until they cancel "True Blood". That way I can enjoy both. I am greedy....:rotfl:

I think Dead and Gone (is that book 9) is my favorite, closely followed by book 4 and Altogether Dead (Book 7?) I do lean towards the ones that more heavily feature Eric. :lmao:

I think you're right. The first season REALLY irritated me (way too much Jason, Tara, and all that crap with the V). I've enjoyed this season much more.

I do prefer the books and I'm trying to be careful by not revealing too much of the books on here. ;)

I personally can look at the show as something loosely based on the books & not an exact literal translation and it doesn't bother me much because I expected that. I watched all of season 1 & most of season 2 without having read the books first. I think if I had read the books first & had an idea in my head I would have been more annoyed with any changes (which now if they don't follow books 3 & 4 in the upcoming seasons, I might be mad.) I can understand why the changes would irritate some though because they are leaving some great stuff out while dragging other dumb crap out (Maryanne )

:rotfl: I don't blame you one bit for leaning towards the Eric-centric books, I'm the same way. I picked up books 5, 6 & 7 today. Can't wait to get started on them.

Bumping this since I feel cheated out of at least 10 minutes of the show tonight. I've read all the books and still enjoying the show since it is different in quite a few ways. But I agree with a few of you that this Maryanne storyline needs to end.

And what's up with the Queen and the bloody foot? Is it her? Or a victim? Any guesses?

I also noticed tonight's show ended sooner than usual.

I'm assuming she just ate.

Was Sookie able to do that thing she did to Maryann in the book too?

Jason was a riot tonight. :lmao:

WTH was up with the intro? They left Sam at the door nude and then cut to morning. Now we did get to see his behind however.:lmao:

They raced it forward, I suppose since there are only 2 episodes left. Don't know why they cut off the end.

This show was a bit choppy and odd, that is for sure.

Not my favorite episode--end the Marianne storyline, PLEASE! What the heck was up with the big meat tree? :lmao: I get that it's an offering but it seems an odd choice. What god wouldn't want meat that's been sitting out in the Louisiana sun for days?

I am so glad they didn't kill Lafayette off. I  him.

OMG We were howling with laughter last night watching Jason, Andy and Sam playing god! That was hilarious!

And I'm with everyone too, I'm growing very weary of the whole MaryAnn storyline. It can end any ole time now.

I just finished book 9 also and I'm seriously going through some book withdrawls! I've read the entire series in about 4 weeks! It is so good!

That was funny. Jason is such a dork.:lmao: So glad that they were able to free Sam though.

Andy is starting to grow on me. I used to not care for his character.

So have we seen the Queen in the show yet? I am confused. Is the Queen the vamp on the TV or someone else?

I like how they are showing her finishing a snack, maybe, at the end?:lmao:

Did you hear Andy say "this is my last drink"......I wonder if this will be true- I am over his drunkenss:guilty:

No- we did not see the Queen yet- remember, she is going to be played by Evan Rachel Wood:woohoo: All I keep waiting for is to see her as the Queen and they ended up teasing me last night with just a FOOT!:headache:

I found this pic of her as Queen on some website- she does not look as evil as I thought she would...............

When they showed next weeks preview at the end, if you look carefully they do show a quick clip of the Queen (Evan Rachel Wood) I hit the slo-mo button on my Tivo to see everything better and I saw her!

Did they!!!? Darn- I was waiting for them to show her in the previews- I must have missed the quick clip:headache:

I just watched The Wrestler- anything that chick is in is top notch! You can't go wrong with an ERW movie!! I still cannot belive she dated Marilyn Manson! :thumbsup2 That makes her just a tad bit cooler in my book
