Floridafam - scary about Kona!!! I'm glad you went ahead and took her in and that she's ok. Also glad your DH took over cooking duties for you!!!

FF- Poor Kona! I'm so glad it wasn't anything too serious- did they give antiobiotics for her ear?

I am definitely ordering from Gymbo at 9; but I am at my parents and my credit card is at home! We were going to watch Survivor here...hmmmm.... :rotfl: my priorities are so crazy!

Diz- sounds like you had a nice day---I am full right now. But not stuffed. I hate that feeling. We had a good turkey this year- nice and moist and flavorful.

My mom is helping me with the shirts for GLT's kiddoes- they are so flipping cute! Her sewing machine is crazy- she bought a new chip too, with Lion King, more Ariel, and now I can't remember. She is asking Santa for the Princess one. :cloud9:

OK, well maybe I will check in later! TTFN!

ETA I got a free shipping code from Lands End that I can forward to 5 friends. Anyone want it? PM me your emaill addy and I will get it off to you.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

Jace and I have been total cranks today. My excuse - PMS big time. Jace - lack of nap, refusal of nap, 2-3 teeth coming in, having to get eye drops in his eyes 3xday and refusing to eat. Argh!!! I am totally at my wits end with him today. Good news, he went down to sleep tonight (an hour late due to leaving my mom's late) with out any fuss.

We had an OK time at my folks. The food was good, but I hardly got to eat or enjoy it as DH and I had to attempt to control Jace. If this is the start of the terrible two's - man, I'm gonna need medication to get thru :rotfl: !!! He was screaming, throwing, spitting out food. He was like a totally different child. I hope it's just because he is really, really tired and this isn't the new Jace. It was nice to spend time with my family regardless. Tomorrow we will go to my SIL's house. My IL's are visiting from VT. It will be low key - but at least an opportunity for them to spend time with Jace. I don't think they have seen him since his birthday in June - but that's a whole 'nother story that I am way to cranky to even get into.

Floridafam: I am glad that you took Kona in and that she is doing better. Better to be safe than sorry and it sounds like it was a good thing you did. sending pixie dust for her pixiedust:

Cabmom: Love the new photos of the boys! Have a fun time on your shopping trip!

Val: Hope today went ok with your mom. :grouphug:

All you Gymbo ladies are too funny! There are a couple cute things I'd like for Jace but I find for boys it's few and far between. Happy Shopping to you all!! I wish I could go shopping tomorrow, at least online. I'd like to finish up my shopping list and get some good deals on Black Friday. Instead I'll be trying to control my PMS in dealing with my IL's. :)

Like many of you posted, I am very thankful to have found this thread and for the support and sharing of stories and ideas. You are truly remarkable women.

Well, off to help myself to another piece of Apple Crumb pie and finish the X-Men III movie DH and I started last night.
:)

Wow, FF, I'm so glad to hear that Kona is okay. That's so good that you took her to the hospital cause I'm sure that helped her feel a lot better to get those fluids. It must have been so scary for you guys.

Alice28 - I'm very jealous of your time zone tonight. I would love to be able to check out Gymbo at 9pm but I'll have to be up till midnight. At first I just planned to do it tomorrow, but I want to watch ER tonight and it ends at 11 anyway so I might as well wait up the extra hour to order. Just seems soooo far away right now!

Your mom's sewing machine sounds very cute. Is it easy to use?

Dizagain, that Playdome looks so cool and I want to buy it for Henry, but we have so many mat type toys from Madison and he got the kick and crawl aquarium from my sister so I don't think I could justify another toy like that.

Henry basically went to bed around 4:30 tonight so I can only imagine what time that means he'll be up in the morning. He fell asleep just as we were starting dinner, woke to eat around 6:30 and was up maybe 20 minutes total and then went to bed for the night. It was nice to eat in peace, but I know I'll be paying for that very early in the morning.

I have to get Madison in bed right now cause it's way late for her and she did not sleep much last night.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Well, Kona's fever is right back up there. :confused3 I just can't believe it. I feel so bad for her. :guilty:

She just had Motrin again and DH just got back with her Zithromax and Tylenol.

They wanted to give her some antibiotics in her IV but she's allergic to Omnicef and the antibiotic they wanted to give her was in the same family so they decided to go with the Zithromax.

Thank you for all the well wishes. I sure hope she feels better soon.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

floridafam- Hope Kona feels better soon!

Justine- Do you have any codes left?

First I have to say a big THANK YOU to nucpharm. Olivia and I got our exchange package yesterday, though I didn’t get to post last night and tell you. It arrived smelly yummy, since it had pumpkin bread and homemade cookies inside. The oatmeal cranberry chocolate chip cookies are incredible. DH had to eat a chunk of pumpkin bread this morning for breakfast. We also got an outfit and Christmas bib for Olivia, some Christmas coffee and a Christmas magnet.

Lissawynn- I know I’ll look ridiculous without hair. I’m just going to let them shave as much as is absolutely needed and try to cover up the bald spot with headbands and stuff until it grows out a little.

Icebrat- How wonderful that you and your partner are looking to give that little girl a better life. Like most of the moms have said, raising a child is one of the most challenging things you’ll ever do, but also the most rewarding! You will need a booster seat, and want to get some plastic dishes and sippy cups. Sippy cups are a godsend with kids that age. I wouldn’t worry too much about putting her into daycare, because it sounds like she’ll be in a much better situation staying with you and in daycare than staying where she is now. Kids are resilient, and kids who are loved and given attention are even more resilient. Adapting to being a mom is a process, no matter what age you do it, but the love you get in return is priceless.
As for the questions, I can help with some. The Britax is an excellent car seat. For strollers, I LOVE my McClaren, though they’re expensive. I must say though, my mom bought it, along with a McClaren double stroller on ebay for a decent price. Clothing is tough.. I’d guess 2T or 3T if she’s small for her age. As for getting her to eat better food and sleep better hours, it’s all a process. Some kids are easier to adapt than others. She will be fine without a yard. My parents raised five kids in a condo with no yard.

Alice- I love that you’re dreaming about gymbo! Oh gosh, Uno is addicting! We used to play it all the time at my friend’s house.

Joats- Don’t feel bad about falling behind. I do that periodically, because things just move too fast around here sometimes. Just wait until I’m in WDW for ten days. I’ll NEVER be able to catch up from that.

GLT- I think if the title is in your dad’s name, the registration must also be in his name, but I’m not sure. You should be able to insure the car yourself though. No one cares who’s paying for insurance, as long as the car has insurance.

Dizagain- I was looking for the Polly Pocket cruiseship for DSis too, but I didn’t see any sales on it. In fact, I didn’t see the toy at all while I was in Kmart or Target recently.

FloridaFam- Oh gosh, I’m sorry Kona got so sick. I hope all the right meds and treatments get her better.

I’m also thankful for all the moms on this thread. It’s funny that before Olivia was born I didn’t know any of you, and that I have such a bond with you now!

Our Thanksgiving was ok. We went to pick up the turkey for Spanksgiving, and they sold out all of the big fresh turkeys, which is odd, because we PREORDERED it. Oh well, they had to give me the more expensive organic turkey and charge me the price for a regular turkey. Hehehe! I caught the last 20 minutes of the parade, but we DVRed it so that we can watch it on Saturday. MIL did a LOT of cooking for the holiday and I felt bad because she had so much work. The dinner was good, though no one started eating until 5 pm, and I was starving! In my family, holiday meals are like marathon eating sessions, where you take breaks in between courses. Olivia was great. She loves getting a lot of attention. Though she refused to nap, in true Olivia fashion.

I have SO MUCH to do tomorrow. DSis and I made fresh cranberry sauce last night, but I have about 4 other dishes to get cooked in addition to the turkey. I was going to skip all the Black Friday madness, but BJs has a ten foot tree on sale for $99, and my mom said she would buy it for us for Christmas if I can get it. So I’m getting up at 5:30 to get to BJs for its opening. Blah, I’m not a morning person. DH is going to stay home with Olivia (lucky dog!).

OK, time for some cross stitching and then I’m going to bed!

ginamarie - I just got the Polly Cruise Ship on Amazon with free shipping for like $38.99 I think. I'm not sure if I got free shipping because of DH's shipping deal with them or if it was a holiday thing...you could check it out!

justhat- Thanks again. I'm having trouble finding things in Jenna's size.

Robin- Where is the denim skirt for $6?

gina--so glad you got your package! I was worried about the goodies spending too much time in transit! And like I said--if the outfit for Olivia is too small let me know

ff--So sorry to hear that Kona is so sick! :grouphug: I sure hope she starts feeling better soon!

icebrat--just wanted to post that what you are doing for this child is wonderful! I have a 2 almost 3 year old, and she is definitley a handful, but along with her brother, the joys of my life! My DD is in the 3T-4T clothes and she's always been tall and "ahem" heavy for her age (if that's possible for a 2 year old)

joats--If it makes you feel any better, Matthew spent Tday dinner screaming at the table. However, his screaming was his way of letting us all know that he needed more food---he is some kind of eater--after the amount of sweet potatoes he ate tonight, Im surprised he's not orange!

All of this Gymbo talk is really making me want to check out their stuff--but I am sooooo not going to the mall tomorrow. Other than it's Black Friday, there is a major college football game tomorrow at 1:30 and the stadium is less than a mile from the mall--talk about MAJOR traffic!!!!

I will however, hit Target (need pullups, but want to get the Xmas morning Barbie for emma's stocking), a fly fishing store to get gift card for DBIL, and a store called Mardel's (don't know if ya'll have this one, but it's a combo Christian book store and school supply place)--but they have the Little People Nativity Set for $15, and I just have to have it!!!! DH has to work, so I'll be hauling the kids with me! :scared:

Tday dinner was nice. We had WAY too much food, so now it's sitting in my fridge for lunch tomorrow. Besides Matthew screaming for food, and Emma refusing to eat anything but applesauce, we got out pretty unscathed! Now to focus on Emma's bday party next Sat. It's non-stop in our neck of the woods! Oh, and we also had our xmas pic taken for our cards today--not prof. just by my dad. I'm putting it in my siggie!

Good luck to all those searching out the big deals tomorrow! :thumbsup2

Aw, FF, I'm so sorry Kona's fever is back. That stinks. I sure hope it breaks soon.

I have having anxiety over whether I should order Gymbo or not. DH was like, "Spend the money!" and I'm thinking, "That girl does not need another stitch of clothing....but how can I order an outfit for cousin's baby and not spend anoht $25 for the darn Gymbuck?" Gymbo is evil, just evil. ;) I went to rearrange my cart online, and the system glitched and I lost my entire cart. I bet their server is reloading to get ready for the 30% off. Maybe that was a sign. :lmao:

Joats- I'm sorry Jace was crabby today. If it's any consolation, Molly only napped for about 45 minutes on Grandpa's lap, and she's usually a 3 hour nap girl. So she was CRANKY tonight and I just put her to bed at 7:45. Hopefully Jace is just grumpy cause of his teeth.

GM- good luck to you getting the tree at BJs. Wish me luck getting what I want at TRU and Target! I can't believe I am getting up at o'dark thirty for $30 worth of gifts.

Well, I guess it's Survivor time. Have a good night, all!

Hi ladies!

We had a good Thanksgiving all in all, our dinner was great and the kids had fun. My Dad got out of ICU today which was an unexpected and great surprise. We went to see him and he was doing MUCH better than 2 days ago when I saw him last. :thumbsup2

I am having a dilemma. (sp?) I have my Gymbo order in my cart ready to go and I want to order tonight so they don't sell out of the things I want but that is an hour less sleep I will be getting tonight! I guess I am holding out. I have a denim skirt for Cam on the basket, I wonder if it is the same one Robin was talking about? With the ruffles?

ETA : Robin - just saw your last post, my cart did the same thing, try resfresging, that brought my entire cart back to where I left it earlier. :goodvibes

nucpharm- The Little People Nativity Set is soooo cute! That is a good deal.

J&D said:
justhat- Thanks again. I'm having trouble finding things in Jenna's size.

Robin- Where is the denim skirt for $6?

it's actually 10.99 on the website...I just meant after all the discounts it would be about $6.

Where is it? I'm having trouble finding things I like in 2T. Is that what you are getting for Molly? I want to order that red Cowgirl Halloween vest, but all that is avail is a M. I checked the size chart, and it doesn't say what size a M is in costumes. Do you know?

I think Gymbo just did the price change!!! Early??? Am I right? I can't get into my cart.

Yes, it looks like they did!

Can you return items to the store?

I think I found the skirt.

I'm getting a little irritated. I'm trying to put things in my cart, and things are now coming up out of stock. I guess the site is probably getting hit pretty hard about now.

Thanks Loretta for letting me know that the site already loaded in the discount cause you gave me an extra hour of sleep!!

J&D - I didn't really get Madison much so I can't say how the 2T stuff was now, but I remember when I was redeeming my gymbucks last cycle the stuff was flying out of my cart before I could buy it so I ended up getting some stuff in the store and then using the rest of the gymbuck online, which was annoying. Yes, you can return stuff to the store, btw.

Happy shopping tonight and tomorrow everyone! I'm off to bed-my family got up way too early today!

WOO HOO!!! I got almost everything I wanted and I got that denim skirt! I had that in my cart for days! I got a 6-12 month for Cam thoght because she is skinny and Gymbo bottoms seem to run big on her. Anyway I got 9 items for $68 shipped for both kids! :cheer2: When I was checking out one thing I wanted for Connor had already sold out. Oh well....

Thanks again Justine for sharing the Gymbo code with me! It saved me $15!!!

And now I can go to bed early. Glad I stayed up so the things I wanted didn't sell out. I hope Robin's stuff doesn't sell out, she probably doesn't know the stuff already is marked down!

Nite all.... :cloud9:
