Something About Nothing............ #14

Super slow day at work today. This is unusual for a Monday.

when I return from that fun, retirement papers to file. Woot!
Any big plans for retirement?

The War time museum has a 1943 Sherman Tank they actually give rides in.
I think my husband would enjoy that.

Happy belated birthday to Janet.
Happy birthday Janet!!

28 days until vaca
I think you are arriving as I leave.

Seriously thinking about going home early even though I arrived late today.

Will this work? Lol.

Family member finished treatment regimen. Hope it will be a one & done, looked rough to go through; although they handled it with grace.

Refrigerator decided to give up the ghost the day I was belatedly hosting family celebration for their July birthdays. Ripped up the house to get a new french door sort. Lowe’s barely got it in the front door. Put it in annex area between kitchen & dining room. Now, we have ‘a hole’ in the kitchen. decided we might as well put in some new cabinetry, at some point. Put a beverage cart in that spot for now lol.

The mr talked me into this style, he likes his toys. He wanted a smart one, ala the stove. It’s huge, 28 square feet. I was hesitant, a regular side by side is my preference. Is it wrong to say I’m in love with “the beast”? The husband too lol.

The first drawer is what they call a FlexZone™ Drawer, it has adjustable compartments with four different temperature settings for storing various food items from freezing to fridge temps.

Love my side by side, Keisha.

And, about time. Rental just dropped 200 dollars less. Now at 462 for our little over 2 weeks. SUV at Alamo, via reservation thru Costco Travel. Yay. Wouldn’t mind it going down some more. And now just saw HRH about 600 more than my RPR reserved rate. Still deciding and really hoping HRH goes down more closer to my RPR rate. I’ll keep looking, as never know. With that drop in rental car, may still decide to pay more to stay at HRH.

And a was wide awake on my drive, this morning, as 5 deer decided to walk across the road in front of me, doing 40 mph. Slowed down when my lights showed them, and lucky they kept walking past me, so didn’t have to stop, and then quickly went back up to speed. Ah, those predawn commutes.

Deer out feeding now, gotta bulk up for the winter, as they live here year round. Glad I was not close enough to be hit. Those adult white tail deer weigh hundreds of pounds, as can wreck a car easily, including the one that bounced off my DH’s truck, leaving it with many thousands of dollars to fix it.

Kids wanted pizza for dinner, so was fine with me. Came home, changed my clothes, and relaxed.

Cool. I would love to have a refrigerator like that.
i'm looking forward to having lots of room in there for the holiday grub

a herd there's a group with a big buck (oddly, appears to have lost most of one of his racks) that comes out of woods to graze at dusk each night in field across the street

it's up for sale a fortune for only being zoned for one single family home, otherwise would grab it. Assume somebody will eventually put up one of those garish McMansions & ruin 'my' sunset view😣

Another super slow day at work.

I think dh has shared his summer cold. I woke up this morning with a cough and sore throat.

Nothing interesting to report. Just counting down the days until my September getaway. I'm tempted to purchase an Epic ticket, but will probably wait until January to go again.

Just counting down the days until my September getaway.
When are you going in September?

Asking as have found an interesting phenom of sorts re EPIC tix that month that has cropped up.

It’s been reported the days there is no HHN (typically, Mon & Tuesday) are starting to intermittently “sell out”.

When we had to cancel out quickie trip this coming weekend (the AP night thing for a few days); decided to add a night onto the September trip and do EPIC. It was not available to book. Kept checking for several days, finally wound up calling in. The TM was able to talk to a supervisor, while I waited on hold for 30+ minutes and they found two tickets.

We had booked a night @ TL as TN was fine for us for a few days in June. I just cancelled it and added a night onto our CB one as I just didn’t want to switch rooms three times during The trip.

Now, wondering how long the bus ride will be in the AM from CB. Not sure of traffic patterns there in the early AM. We would want to be @ the gate a good 15 minutes before early entry. Worked out well this summer.

PS summer colds absolutely stink, be well

catcharade O we just miss u in september

that sounds like something other than a cold in an adult with that high of a fever

'tamato-tomato' sorry to hear feeling cruddy

not laughing @ you, but your post took me back to high school days

the "let's have a pity party 1, 2, 3...aw"sing song chant cropped up often in my crowd. another time lol

good day all not much going on here today other than on chauffer duty with the 'lil May take a detour and stop to play with my grand🐈‍⬛

I think I'm going to miss every one on this trip.

My boss has asked me twice to make sure it's not Covid. I'm not sure what difference it will make if it is. We don't have the same restrictions we had 5 years ago.

I'm not familiar with that song.

I just sent B to the store to get me some supplies. If I could just stop coughing I would feel so much better.
Temperature is down to 100.3 today.

Hope you are feeling better soon, Charade. We are moving over to Universal the day you leave. Maybe can get in a quick hello. Sending well wishes mummy dust down your way.

Yeah, Keisha, we booked those Epic tickets long ago. One of our days shows sold out, a Thursday. I hope they do keep lower numbers when I am there in September. Maybe a quick hello to you, if our time mesh.

Another glorious sunshine and warm day.

And at mid week. Woot! Will be happy to see Friday come and go fast. Camel says, he’s on summer vacation already, given ours is starting in two weeks from now. But, time to say, get over this hump of a day feeling day, then Friday only a day away. Woot needed again. Ever that much closer to a nice break, and back in mid September. Yay, I am hoping the next two weeks fly by.

Ah, Most Wonderful Wednesday to all. Time for my almost sweaty lunchtime walk.

i'm double booked on flights for trip

holding onto SWA ones jik spirit goes under/starts cancelling flights; as they are circling the drain again

migraine ? keeps lingering, up to 30 hours now. weird, it's ranging from mild to quite nasty just can't shake it i'm ascared to try the RX due to side effects, big baby I am

A home test shows a faint positive for Covid. Guess I'm staying home again tomorrow.

I had Covid once back in 2021, but it was very mild. I think it's worse this time. I just wish I could stop coughing.

I am alternating between drinking ice water and hot tea. I've also got some fruit juice popsicles. I also decided to do a Harry Potter movie marathon today. I managed to doze off and miss most of the first movie.

I need to figure out what to do about lunch. I'm hungry but nothing appeals right now.

Ugh, sorry to hear Covid too, Charade, Hope you get better by this weekend. Sleeping is a good thing. Take care, and sending more mummy dust well wishes down your you.

 Ack, to Keisha having a bad headache, I hope it goes away quick. No fun in my book, and glad I don’t get them that often. Sending go away fast headache mummy dust out your way, pronto. Was sad to hear of that coal accident out your way. My college town used to build the steel coal cars, but unemployment ran high, when it closed down not long after I started college there. Walked through the Sharon Steel plant, as back then, no fences or keep out signs. Was almost weird to see all the equipment just left in it. Ah, those were the good college days I had. Cow tipping, feeding the carp in the spill way, bow deer hunting in the Pymatuning Park, and rafting down the Monongahela River.

Had a just before lunch meeting, and in it, coworker said he thought it was Friday. I too wished it was. But at least it is tomorrow. And should be a quieter day, and shorter and pay day for me this Friday. Just have to have this afternoon fly by fast, which I’m hoping it does.

Thirsty Thursday is here today. Good to have a reminder this time of year, when in the summer season, to be hydrated enough. Don’t be one of those that faints or falls down, or even sick, for not being so. So today, a reminder that if you are thirsty, keep sipping that drink of choice. :coffee:

Hope all have a Terrific Thursday today, and yep:

Woot! Woot! :rockband:

My misery continues today. My fever is down and my cough has subsided, but now I have sneezing and congestion. I have also lost taste and smell. I pray that this will be over by the end of the weekend.

Good Saturday morning everyone

If all goes well with the flight I arrive on the 7th.

Wow….sounds like a major remodel to accommodate the new refrigerator. Looks like you all picked a nice new one.

We are still melting in Southern Indiana.

I had lunch yesterday with my sister K and when we walked out of the restaurant it was like being in the Sahara. The wind was even blasting hot.

We both agreed this has been the hottest summer that we can remember.

I guess we are just in good prepare mode for the heat at HHN.

My trusty vacuum cleaner has a nice sturdy gizmo that keeps the cleaning unit upright as you move it around. On Wednesday I had just finished vacuuming and put it upright and it did not click in and it came crashing down on my right foot.

So I have an impressive hematoma that is spreading over the top of my right foot. Thankfully it does not appear to be broken.

I can’t count the stress fractures, fractured toes and Plantar Fasciitis episodes I have had in my feet. I chalk it up to crap happening as we age. Never fails things happen before vacation.

I did have son and family over to celebrate his Birthday Wednesday evening. I can’t believe my baby turned 48. He is such a sweet, good and wonderful son.
IMG_6195.gif

He wanted lasagne, meatballs, salad and garlic bread for his birthday dinner. He also requested a pineapple upside down cake for his cake. So I made him his requested meal.

I also made some mini Banana bread loafs and some chocolate chip cookies for everyone to take home.

Everyone enjoyed the meal and there was plenty to send home with everyone.

He liked all his gifts. Son and daughter in law bought a new camping trailer a few months ago and it is beautiful. They like taking little weekend trips.

Granddaughter bought him a movie projector he can use when camping. It is compact and really cool. It is awesome all the electronics they have now a days.

Days until we fly.

I’am going out to put some fresh water and food out for the deer. A big Doe came by this morning and there was nothing out. They ate it all a couple of days ago.

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone dong what ever makes you happy.

Happy very birthday to another Leo, your son, Robo. Good to hear from you. I’m still deciding between the two hotels I have reservations with, but I’m pretty sure you’ll be at PBH. If you don’t have my phone number, just let me know. Would enjoy a coffee talk, if we can meet up some time when we are there. We are doing that HHN night that Wednesday.

Lazy day, as was awake early, but did not get moving until close to noon. Older one is the kid that likes Taco Bell. Hence, he agreed to go with me on a few errands I had to do, with lunch there. After we got home, the kids then went out to the Amish area near where live, and bought back two large bags of fresh popcorn, cheese and caramel flavored. Let’s just say, no one was hungry for dinner, but all agreed to share some Chinese takeout. Little one just went out to pick it up. The place is one that I never have issues with msg in their food. The portions are large, and even though they have raised their prices lately, we always order from there, and it’s a 5 minute drive up the road. Hence, late dinner time for us.

And was a warm day.

Super happy Saturday thoughts for all, hoping to find Keisha without a headache, and Charade feeling better. Well wishes sent to both of you.
