Grrrrrr...just realized my post was lost a while ago...well.

floridafam - Hmmm...the "Sluttin" Channel...guess I've been missing out on the latest in kids programming in the last 5 or so years! And sorry about that CC charge thing - what a pain.

zalansky - I love the shopping cart cover! Hoping my mom gets Carson one for Christmas!

SL - Of course you need a break - you just got back from vacation! That wears anyone out!! That's so fun that your DH likes the Disney music...mine won't admit he even likes ANYTHING "Disney" unless we're right in the middle of WDW.

Gems - Here's hoping your nice bonus is of the "Steak at LeCellier" variety instead of the "Drive-thru Burger" kind!

bellacam - feel better soon!!!

jill - sorry you had to drop a class...happy you got a 5th grade placement - how fun! Hannah's in 5th and they are full of themselves but still kinda sweet!

hillbeans - glad Nick was awesome! Love the pics - you look great!

lissawynn - just saw the ad for the toolbench thing - too cute!

joats - CUTE picture! You know, every time I see Jace's name, I like it more! I've never heard it before - is it a family name?

glt - Love the gym equipment idea - they'll enjoy it!! What do I want for Christmas?? Disney Crocs and some new dishes...we're using what's left of our original wedding gifts from '92 and some hand-me-downs from mom. She's been "threatening" to set us up with some new stuff so I'm hoping she follows through!!

fabumouse - how's Miss Kailey doing? Hope she's better today!

justhat - you're awfully quiet...hope Madison's behaving and Henry is feeling better!!

Well, hello to all I missed. Have a great afternoon and hope all our sickies get to feeling better VERY soon!!!

Alice- I wouldn’t feel bad about using Disney Dollars for your fancy WDW dinner! We always pull out DH’s cast-member card, as cheesy as it seems sometimes. My mom is up to $75 in Disney Dollars from her DisneyVisa, so I’m sure we’ll be using that towards meal money this year.
Your itinerary looks great. I try to avoid MK and Epcot on the weekends as much as I can. We’re going to Epcot on the last Saturday of our next trip, but it will be our second day in Epcot, so I don’t feel like we’ll need to see anything. I also avoid going to MK on any Mondays. It looks like you stuck to that though. I try to avoid the early entry parks too.
Oh no about getting sick! It sounds like your DH will be the next one to come down with the pink eye in your house.

Tykes- I can’t imagine anyone thinks you look like a Grandma! You don’t look that old at all. When my little brother was born, people used to ask if my dad was the grandpa all the time. It’s pretty funny, because he still doesn’t look like a grandpa to me (I have as much grey hair as he does!).

Lissawynn- Sorry your BIL was driving you crazy. :(

Jill- sorry you had to drop your class. Congrats on the placement though. It sounds like it will be really convenient.

DisneyDancer-Sorry you’re sick!

Fabumouse- I love all the writing that I do too. I wouldn’t mind doing motions all day if it just meant I had to write them, but recently I’ve been stuck with a bunch of motions that require me getting all sorts of outside records and affidavits from people who don’t necessarily want to cooperate. That part just stinks! I hate when I have to rely on other people’s cooperation to get my job done.

GLT- I know what you mean about taking on too much work. I have no idea how I’m going to finish all of my projects. I don’t want much for Christmas this year really, just a vacation!

Nucpharm- Yay for free Walmart money!

FloridaFam- Sorry about the nasty Chase lady. I’d ask for a supervisor and explain what a bad experience you’ve had with that woman. After all, their job is to HELP customers. I’ve never heard of the Upside Down show…

SL- LOL about your sister thinking the kids were too tough to bring to the pumpkin patch. I totally see my brother and his fiancé being that way when they have kids.

Zalansky- I’m glad things worked out with your FIL coming to your house to watch the kids. I hope you win the shopping cart cover. My mom got me one for Olivia, but she’s still sitting in her carseat carrier so far. I remember it coming in really handy with DBro.

Bellacam- Sorry you got added to the sick list. I think it’s just that time of year now :(

Gems- it’s so funny to read about driving in the UK. You guys have some FAST speed limits. In NY, everyone drives around 65-70mph on the highways, but the actual speed limit is only 55, and that’s the absolute highest limit you’ll see around here. I hope you get a nice sized bonus!

DH is in the best mood today. This morning he won some Mets tickets on the radio. So it looks like we’ll be going to the game tomorrow night. I’ve been hearing about how he’s never been to a playoff game since the time we met, so this really means a lot to him. He’s waiting to hear back from the station about where and when to pick up the tickets.

I’m trying to finish another motion before I have to pick up Olivia from my mom’s house. She’s been such a good girl while staying with my mom and grandma lately, even with her napping. I still haven’t figured out why she won’t nap with me when she’ll nap 2+ hours with my grandma! I guess you get a special touch with kids when you’ve been raising them for 70 or so years! It’s funny because my great-grandma, who was also amazing with children used to always say “I hate kids,” but she ALWAYS had kids around her and would take care of them and feed them and play with them. So now my grandma has taken to saying “you know, I hate kids,” which makes everyone crack up.

OK, I have to squeeze in some more research to finish this thing. Hopefully I’ll check back in later tonight.

Hi ladies! I haven't been able to keep up very well lately. I have to take the cat to the vet in a few minutes, but I just wanted to check in quickly.

My babysitter is getting on my nerves. She called me on my cell at work during my class and told me I had to pick up Aidan. Apparently, he threw up. He was not sick at all when I dropped him off. In fact, he was very happy. Well, I didn't want to leave and waste a sick day after I was already there so I made arrangements for MIL to get him. I know he's not sick. I think he was ticked at her for putting him for a nap too early and he got overly dramatic and threw up. It's a trait that comes with the kids on DH's side. I just thought she overreacted. I can't drop everything and run out of my classroom and leave 30 students unattended. Have I mentioned that I really hate working.

Another one of my friends dropped the bombshell during lunch that she is going to divorce her husband. I knew this was coming and wasn't suprised. What does suprise me is that out of my group of 4 friends, 2 will have gone through divorces already. She has 2 children, so it won't be easy.

I've been busy doing some damage on TRU with the code. I found a few of the things the kids wanted. I'm debating over 2 things. One is the stupid Roboreptile that Alex wants. I just know he won't play with it, but I'm really afraid he will ask Santa for it. The other is the Nintendo DS lite that Emmy wants. I told my mom to get it but I'm afraid if she waits too long, she won't be able to find the pink one. I can tell her to get the new American Girl instead. Ugh, I'm such a shopaholic. Me and Christmas are not a good combination.

Gems - Thanks! I got my exchange pal :thumbsup2 .

OK, I have to start hunting for the cat. She has no idea what's coming, poor thing. I'll be back later!!

Today has not been pleasant with Henry crying pretty much all the time he is awake. I thought his cold was gone, till I spent last night sleeping sitting up in my bed with him on my chest since he started choking on his post nasal drip everytime I put him down. And Madison has decided today is a good day to be whiny too. I think she's probably getting sick again too. I've been trying to keep up with the thread today to keep the insanity away but it's getting hard!

Yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch so I'll post some photos later. It's such a bizarre place. Madison loved it though. I've got about 1 million articles of clothing to fold and better do that while Henry is finally someplace other than my arms. It's the first time all day that he's even tolerated the swing.

Hi Moms~

Hope everyone had a nice afternoon. I kind of laid low. I did go to lunch and Kmart with my mom. She ended up buying the kids some Christmas gifts they had there- Molly is getting a Cabbage Patch 'baby' named Lexi Magdalena! What a fancy name! And her bday is Feb 8th- just a month before Molly's! And they had a Star Wars set Sam is dying for, so he will probably get that for his bday from Gma/Gpa.

My eye is still nasty. I called the advice nurse, and then talked with my practitioner's nurse and they just prescribed me some drops without me having to go in. So, DH is going to grab them for me on his way home. I've been putting hot compresses on it every hour or so and that helps. I think I have only had this once before and it's just irritating.

Justhat- can't wait to see punkin patch pictures! I'm sorry Henry is still so stuffed up and miserable.

Kim- I would not have been too thrilled about your sitter calling you in the middle of class too. I hope Aidan did just throw up cause he was so mad, and not because he's truly ill.

Z- I'm glad your FIL will be able to come over and watch the kids for you. I would need to drink a lot living with someone like that too! I really like that cart cover- I hope you win it!

GM- that's exciting your DH won some Mets tickets! :yay: I hope people comes through for you regarding work...it is hard depending on either people to get your job done, isn't it?

Disney Dancer- I hope you are feeling better today.

Diz- do you know where I can order Disney Crocs? I remember reading awhile back they were coming out with them....on the actual Crocs website? I love my crocs and want some flip flops by them too.

FF- I haven't seen the upside down show. We really don't watch much TV during the day- I don't know why. Molly will watch the Wiggles and sometimes Winnie the Pooh. I need to remember to flip on Sesame Street at 9. At night she will watch SpongeBob with her brothers. Oh joy!

Gems- Here's hoping your bonus is more toward the WDW end than the BK end! LOL! You are too much! :lmao:

SL- Oh great- another place to get a funnel cake to add to my list! Although I don't think we will really go to the Boardwalk area this trip....unless it's just to get a pastry at the bakery!

I'm a little irritated at this 180 Disney is making with some of their kid's dining choices at WDW. Granted, I like my kids to eat semi-healthy most of the time, but come on- what's WDW to a kid without a hot dog or chicken strips? I need to go read some more on the topic. I'm the type of mom who is cool with hot dogs, burgers, chicken nuggets, pizza as long as my kids get 3-5 servings of produce a day, and their dairy. My kids do not like high fat dips, they do not like a lot of sugary foods, they can do without fries (although they do like chips), they rarely drink soda unless I let them at a restaurant....why will I not have the choice to get my kids a kid's meal that includes chicken nuggets? DH even called me this morning in a small tizzy as he heard this on the radio! I said, "Well, I guess that Molly & Josh can split a chicken strip basket with CARROTS and a milk, and Sam can have a burger and CARROTS ( :teeth: I'm feeling a bit peckish I guess), and probably two adult meals is cheaper than 3 kid meals anyway at the counter service places. Or the same anyway. I mean, I'm sorry, my kids aren't going to eat a pita pizza with grilled BBQ chicken on it, and shredded lettuce. They aren't. But they will eat a cheese pizza, or pepperoni, with a side of fruit or veggies...why can't there be a happy medium?

Sorry for the rant. As you can see by my siggie picture, my ways of doing nutrition for my kids isn't making them unhealthy. I am glad now that we aren't doing the dining plan.

hello..........i use to post over on the mom's to be thread but never found this one to post on it. Had a free second today............

Justhat: congrats on Henry! I remember you posted about being pregnant not too long after I found out so I figured you had delivered.

I use to be on the disboards alot, but it is really depressing sometimes to hang around when you dont have a trip planned. :guilty: But I always love coming over here so I will try to keep up with this thread some more and get a tiny disney fix too :teeth:

My new baby is Elleanna Rose, she is now 3 months old (where does the time go!) and my baby boy Tavian just turned 3 last week.

I hadnt heard about the healthy kids meals at disney; i need to keep up!! I am slipping in my disney knowledge lol!

Hi Staci! Welcome to our board- your kids are cute-cute!

I may have jumped the gun with my rant on Disney foods. It sounds like some kid favorites will still be offered, and they are trying to come up with healthier oil to cook chicken in, or lower fat crust for pizzas. That is great- I try and cook that way at home anyway. I just think some of their options are a little weird. :confused3

Hey all!

Today was okay--spent all our gift card at Walmart on nothing fun  BUT I did check out their toy section and they did have some of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse toys!!! :cool1: They had some of the figures that go with the playhouse (cheaper than any other place I've seen), a cellphone, a car, and a plush Mickey with a DVD. Unfortunatley, I didn't even see a space on the shelf for the actual clubhouse--Here's hoping I can find one. My sis also clued me in on the TRU buy 1 get 1 Little tikes toys--unfortunately all the free ones are out of stock on line (figures!) So I'm headed to TRU tomorrow to see if I can find anything, and get his bday present.

FF--I can't stand the upside down show--and what it's been on like every other hour!!! Emma thinks it's funny, but it drives me crazy--she evens pretends to use the "remote control". I guess it could be worse--she got over her "Doodlebops" phase and they drove me nuts too

Alice--glad to hear that Disney isn't getting rid of all the "kiddie" foods--but I'm glad they are going to be healthier b/c there are only so many chicken nuggets Emma is allowed in one week!

staci--Welcome!!!! :welcome:

gems--forgot to say I got my exchange buddy as well! Thanks for organizing us! Here's hoping that the bonus is WDW and not Burger King!

Wow, all that funnel cake talk makes me really want one! I've never had one at EPCOT--guess I'm missing out--I'll be definitely be stopping there this next trip.

Matthew is tons better today--thanks for all the thoughts and PD that were sent our way! However, the "man flu" is back in full force. I even told DH that I was really frustrated that he is able to work a 12hr day and then come home, lay on the couch, and complain on how bad he feels and how sick he is! Come on--if I were sick I'd still have to take care of the kids as well as myself--being a parent doesn't stop b/c you're sick--oh well! Time to find some ice cream to go with the brownie calling my name!!! Night all!

Good evening!

Joats - that sounds so nice to have dinner alone, in peace! I totally know what you mean on the spending - I get all excited for things like school clothes, and then remember to replace the Aero Bed, and buy for my friend's birthday, and replace the garlic pot, and holy smokes!!! That's one hunka burnin' credit card bill. :rolleyes1 Great photo of Jace in your signature!

Hillbeans - well, aren't you *adorable*! :goodvibes

GLT - oh, I know babysitting is so much cheaper everywhere else! It's painful, but I console myself with the fact that if I really wanted to, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is just a train ride away. Not that I ever go since having children . .. but . . er, I could! :teeth:

And didn't you interview women about what they wanted for Christmas? Did I get that wrong?

Robin - someone posted that they cut their tongue while licking their ice cream scooper! I mean, who *doesn't* go at it with their ice cream scooper?? I feel very friendly with mine. :teeth:

And OMG I am so jealous of your itinerary!!! I love Fantasmic.

BnB - my daughter also spoke with Crush. It went like this: Crush "so, who else has a question about living under the sea? "

Kailey "Um, um . . ......... Crush . . . .?"

Crush: Yes, dudette? . .. .

Kailey "Um . .......... Crush .. . ...

Crush . .....

........................ I love you".

:lmao:

And it is *NOT* too early to plan for 2008! :wizard:

Kailey wants to do the real horse stuff now - but I've managed to convince her that you cannot do any of it until you're at least 7 or 8. :thumbsup2 My DH said exactly what you did and said Chess - chess is good and *cough* cheap *cough*.

FF - I'm so sorry! I hate days like that. :guilty:

And I must leave now - as I have a very small person with very big needs on my lap, chewing on my shirt.

:p

FF - sorry your day started out so poorly. I hope it improved. DS watches the upside down show and I'm usually working on articles or doing dishes so I miss the brunt of it, don't know enough about it to annoy me yet ;)

Gems - I got my buddy, thank you!

fabumouse - there is much to say for living in a city, heck, we just got a Target a couple years ago (and after having lived in Atlanta and NYC, there was LOTS of cultural shock). But as far as small towns go, ours isn't too bad. DS even goes to school at the local Arts Center, which has some amazing artists come through. Of course, I do get jealous of Justhat's visits to the zoo, we don't have one of those anywhere too close.

Funny about Kailey's TT experience!

nucpharm - yum, a brownie and icecream sounds like exactly what I need, I'm settling for some mint cookies and french vanilla coffee.

Staci - welcome! I know, we don't have any trips planned either, but it's fun to live vicariously through everyone else. There are a few of us with three year olds on this board. Congrats on Elleana Rose, what a great name!

robin - love your itinerary, thanks for sharing! WTG on getting started Xmas shopping!

Zalansky - that's a fun looking cover! I hope your eye is feeling better.

justhat - sorry Henry has been such a handful today. I hope you get some rest this evening.

Diskim - I hope Aidan is feeling better. Sorry about the annoyance with the babysitter.

GM - I'm so jealous of your DH. ARe you going to the game too? How exciting! Take pics and post them for me, please.

dizagain - we have been through the majority of of our glasses from our wedding, we keep breaking them, not sure how, just keeps happening. I can't even blame the kids.

bnb, hillbeans, bellacam, disneyphd, lissawynn, Val, Cabmom, Ryan and all th mom's I missed - HELLO.

Yuck, the Mets lost. HOpe they win for your DH tomorrow GM!!

Okay Moms, I have a question and tell me if I'm insane. Life has been running me ragged lately and I've been thinking that a night away would be grand (with the kids and all). There's an indoor water park/resort in town that typically costs $199/night. They are having an $89 special the days leading up to Halloween. I am SERIOUSLY thinking of taking $100 and booking a room -- their REALLY cool fish-themed child-friendly room with bunks and all -- for one night. It includes water park passes, story time and whatever Halloween activities they have lined up for the kids.

I know I've said that $$ hasn't been my friend lately, so it seems kinda crazy, but at the same time that's such a great deal, and we can all play in the water park and yet still be in town to let out the dog.

What do you think? Dizagain, you wanna join me (you're just below in Illinois, right?).

Alice- I’m not all that pleased with this new dining policy either. I understand wanting to have healthy choices, but why take away the old standbys? I agree about needing to have a happy medium. I really think that a lot of the “healthy options” restaurants have come up with are ploys to cut costs and make portions smaller. It’s like McDonalds getting rid of the supersize—we used to be able to split a supersize fries between three people, now you have to buy more smaller portions and it’s more expensive. I’m curious to read what changes are actually being made, because I feel like getting rid of menu options wouldn’t fly that well, but maybe it’s just me.

Staci- Welcome to the thread!

Nucpharm- I actually saw the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse at our local TRU. They had a few of them. I’m glad Matthew is feeling better at last.

Fabumouse- that’s too cute about Kailey loving Crush. At this point I’d be afraid of DBro talking to Crush because his new favorite word is “freggin’”. He says it about everything. Earlier today we pulled into the dance studio, and he goes “there’s too many freggin’ cars in this parking lot.”

GLT- It looks like DH and I will both be at the game. My MIL is going to watch Olivia, which she’s always asking us when she can do, so she’s glad to have the opportunity. Of course after tonight’s loss, if they lose tomorrow DH will be DEVASTATED. He went to bed early and DVRed the game, so he doesn’t know they lost yet.

Tomorrow should be ridiculous. I’m meeting the staff at the title insurance place in the morning and picking up my work packet. Hopefully they’ll be able to throw me a bunch of work. In any case, I’m glad they decided to put me “on the list” for work, because it’s very competitive to get work as a title closer. After the meeting, I have to go to work, and then drop Olivia at MIL’s house so we can go to the Mets game.

I have to get to bed though, otherwise I’m going to sleep through my business meeting tomorrow!

GLT- I don't think you're crazy, that sounds like a great deal! They're running a sale like that at the indoor water parks near us (Pennsylvania), but I don't think it was as cheap as $89.

OK, REALLY bedtime now!

GLT- I totally think you should do it. Sounds like a great way to recharge and do something fun. $89 is quite a deal! You can bring snacks from home and such and watch movies with the kids in the room. (after playing in the water park, of course!) :goodvibes

GM- I hope the Mets don't lose tomorrow! And that you get lots of work as a title closer!

Fab- LOL at Kailey and Crush- my EIGHT year old said something almost as 'witty' - he asked Crush how old he was, KNOWING the answer from the movie. I was like, "you couldn't think of an original question there buddy?" :rotfl:

Oh, and GM, I think you right about this possibly being a cost cutting measure as far as the dining plan goes. I don't know about anyone else, but my kids and I are STARVING when we are at WDW- walking all those miles every day, and sweating- I usually eat like a pig and don't gain a pound. I want my kids to be able to have a burger if they want it, with fruit AND some of my fries if they want them. I'm sorry, but carrot sticks, celery sticks, grilled chicken slices is more like a weight watchers meal than something for an 8 year old who just burned a ton of calories. I want him to have those veggies with something a little more high cal, so I'm not buying him a popcorn or a pretzel 90 minutes later.

Nucpharm- gosh, now I want to go to Walmart tomorrow to see if they have the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse stuff. Problem is, I don't know if any of my children actually want it! :rotfl: I'm just a sucker for all things Disney! SO GLAD Matthew is feeling better today! :bounce:

I still feel like poop. I have this cold going on with swollen glands, post nasal drip and a hacky cough, and then the lovely eye....my DH was like, "WHOA!" when he came in and I looked up at him. He brought me my drops and they help a bit. The pink eye doesn't really hurt, but it's uncomfortable for sure. I'm paranoid I'm going to infect my other eye....I think I've washed my hands 24 times today.

Can you guys believe we're already half way through October? Crazy! Time goes by so quickly...

Oh, and FWIW, I think I have a small crush on Emmitt Smith- I think he and Cheryl ROCK on Dancing with the Stars! He's not the most perfect dancer, but his enthusiasm and smiles get me! Jerry just needs to go- his Paso was PAINFUL to watch.

Okay, I could scream! I finally did a nice long post catching up with all of you and the stupid DIS gave me a database error message when I hit submit! Aaaagggghhhh!

Well, this probably won't be quite as long as what I originally posted but I'll try to post as much as I can remember.

Gems~ Got my buddy's name. Thanks! I am looking forward to shopping for them but since they live in the States (narrows it down a lot, doesn't it? ;) ) I will probably wait till closer to the deadline to send it out so they don't get it too soon before Christmas.

Robin~ Was it you that asked what our kids were getting for Christmas? Kylie is pretty spoiled. We are getting her a couple of Chip and Dale books, Chip and Dale dvd set, that weasel ball thing she plays with at the ILs, several books, an Elmo dvd about potty-training (we're not ready for that yet but I didn't think the dvd would hurt to have for when she is ready), a Feel and Learn type puppy dog toy that talks, sings, and plays music (she fell in love with it!), and a Cabbage Patch baby. She is really into dolls now so she will be so ecstatic to get the CP baby. Hers is a boy. He was so cute and she really liked him when she saw him. His name is Ruben something. I can't remember his b-day. I think we will be changing his name as Ruben simply doesn't appeal to me, lol.

Tamie~ I can't believe someone would say you look like a grandmother! You most certainly do NOT! I wonder if she was jealous of you and made the comment snidely just to bring you down? That's the only thing that even remotely makes sense to me.

SL and Gems~ We went cold turkey when we took Kylie's pacifier away. We tried to take it away when she was 12.5 months old (right after our WDW trip) since she had given up the bottle on her own around then. It was a nightmare so we let her keep it. Then at 15 months I really didn't want her to have it when she started daycare so I took it away and she never even seemed to notice! I guess she was just ready then or something.

Welcome, Staci! Your kids are cute!

DisKim~ Sorry about the difficult day with the babysitter. Hopefully after your dh finishes school in March something will work out so you can stay home.

lissawynn~ I hope you feel better soon. I think your BIL really overreacted and I would need a break from him too.

Loretta~ Wow, your MIL and I would have been even more Springerish than the 2 of you were if she had nearly hit Kylie with a phone! You handled it so much better than I probably would have so kudos to you!

ff~ Sorry to hear about the cc disaster! I hate jumping through hoops over something so stupid!

justhat~ I'm sorry Henry is sick and I am especially sorry that Madison is being so difficult lately. I am taking notes btw! ;)

GM~ Our major highway's speed limit here is 70 mph. Most people go much faster than that though.

GLT~ I say go ahead and book the room! I need a break so badly right now that if I had the money and there were any interesting places to stay here like you described I would totally do so!

fabumouse~ Crush talked to Kylie too! It was one of the highlights of our trip. Crush came out and Kylie saw him and got so excited. She started yelling, babbling, and shrieking at him. He swam toward her, looked at her, and said, "I totally know what you are saying, dude!" Everyone started laughing. It was such a wonderful memory!

nucpharm~ I am glad Matthew is starting to feel better!

Bridget~ Feel better soon! Not much longer until baby #2 makes his/her entrance! I can't wait to hear if it's a boy or a girl!

Okay, I know I am missing many people but that is all I can remember for now. Hi to the rest of you though!

Oh, I don't know if you have heard this or not but a DISer was hit and killed by a semi-truck on Sept. 22. She mainly posted on the WISH board. Her screenname was Strings. She was a very sweet person. She has a little girl who is around 6 years old and a dh. If you all remember, please keep her family in your prayers. I can't imagine what they are going through! :(

Anyway, Kylie is finally over her cold and was such a pleasure to be around today. She was so sweet that I thought my heart would overflow with the love I was feeling for her. Sappy? Yeah, but that is just how sweet she was! She kept kissing and hugging me, blowing kisses at me, saying, "ticka, ticka" which means "tickle, tickle" in Kylie language and then tickling my feet. She also kept grabbing my socks and pulling them off my feet and giggling and running with them hoping I would chase her. She then decided they made a good blanket for her baby doll and covered her baby with them. She's such a little stinker but just too stinkin' cute and sweet these days! It made a somewhat crappy day at school seem like a distant memory though. Long story but I am just so tired of school right now. There is a rumor going around that the instructor I like is leaving b/c her dh got a great job offer somewhere else. I love this instructor and can't stand the other one. The other one would be taking over her classes if she leaves and I think I will lose it if I have to have that woman for all of my classes! 2 is bad enough! I hope it's just a rumor and that she isn't leaving. I'm hanging in there and I don't plan to quit but there are days I wish I would have waited to go back to school. Today was just another one of those days. Tomorrow may be better.

Well, our plans for today are pretty low-key. Just grocery shopping and I have 2 quizzes, a test, and an assignment to prepare for Thurs. Other than that, I am just really looking forward to spending time with my princess. If it isn't raining we might go to the park. It's still in the 80s here. I am so glad I have Kylie. As stressed as I have been lately, she is the biggest blessing in my life and makes everything right with the world! It really makes a bad day seem better that's for sure. Well, I need to go. Bye!

okay, I have to share the conversation DH and I just had. I told him last night that I was going to hit TRU today to try and knock out a few xmas and bday gifts. I always feel weird about talking about buying more stuff b/c DH always lets me know how little "extra" money we have to spend. Well, he agreed that looking into the buy 1 get 1 deal was worth looking into. Then he comes to me this morning, whining about we only have x-amount of $$$ until he gets paid again--BUT this is the kicker--apparently, we have saved around $500 for bday gifts--which doesn't even include what we've saved for xmas gifts! WTH--I have felt miserable for nothing! Guess today's trip to TRU might be more fun than I first thought!! Hehehe!!! ;) Guess it's a good thing that DH is so good with our money!

GM--have fun at the Mets game. I have to admit that I didn't even know who was in the playoffs this year--I'm really not a baseball fan, and DH only likes the Cleveland Indians, so we don't watch much

GLT--I so go to the park/hotel! I know which hotel you are talking about and I always wanted to try it out--I would definitely join you if we were still there! We liked the Tundra Lodge in Green Bay--really nice--except that the time we went Emma had just started walking, and after being in the hotel for say, 15min, she feel into a carved wood bench, split her lip open and we spend the rest of the evening comforting her!

Tasha--have a fun day with Kylie today! Hope you get to the park. I can't believe how warm it will be here today--almost 90! How sad about the Dis-er that was killed--I will definitely keep her family in my prayers!

Alice--hope you are feeling a little bit better today! :grouphug: Jerry's dance last night was really painful to watch--I'm wondering if he purposely made it really bad so he would get voted off--It seems as if he just wanted to make it through the waltz and then he was okay with going home. I'm a big Emmitt Smith fan myself!

Well, my little man is fussing for some reason, so I better go see what the deal is--Have a great hump day everyone!

Henry seems to be in better spirits today, but of course I now have a ton of things to do so I can't be here too long. Most importantly, I have to get his christening invitations in the mail since it is on the 12th and they're all going out of state. Ugh, and I have like 75 to write. Well less I guess since it will be 75 people.

Hi Staci! I can't believe Elleanna is 3 months old already. Welcome over to this thread! :welcome:

Ginamarie, you can still supersize at McDonalds cause my husband does it all the time. That face is cause he never drinks more than a teaspoon of his soda and never finishes all the fries so it's a total waste IMO. You just have to ask for it cause it's not on their menu anymore, but it's still an option. And too funny about your brother's favorite word! I'm sure that's just what you wanted him to say. ;)

Alice28, I hear you on the menu changes. I actually like the new menu a lot, but wish they had some of the old menu on there too. We were limited with the old menu in that since Madison generally gets a hot dog, chicken fingers, or cheeseburger for lunch, we don't let her get that at dinner. We try to get some sort of nutrient into her each day and generally make that happen at dinner since we tend to do CS for lunch. So basically she could choose from mac and cheese, spaghetti, or grilled chicken. That would get old though so then she'd eat an adult appetizer or share our meals. With the new menu she'll actually have more choices. But I realize that not all families are like ours and so to take away their options is kind of annoying I think. I know I would get annoyed with the limited choices before so I can totally see how others would now. Of course, if they extend this menu to CS or make it the lunch and dinner menu at all sit down places then that would be insane for anyone I think.

Tasha, to add to your list of similarities, Madison gave up her pacifier at 15 months too, no problems. And we had tried at 11 months and it was a huge battle so I gave up. Then at 15 months she just started spitting it out and we were done. Just like that, so easy. Henry does not like his much at all so I don't see him using it past 6 months or so, which I'm kinda happy about cause I don't think I'd be so lucky with breaking the Nuk habit twice.

Loretta, I know I'm late, but gosh, your MIL sounds like a nut. I cannot believe she threw a phone at you! :furious: I would never want to see her again and do not blame you at all for vowing not to go back to her house. Really, I can't imagine ever doing that to anyone, but especially you cause you're nice to her! Glad that you FIL is sane though and that he can sitll babysit for you, and at your house too.

GLT, go to the waterpark and enjoy! I am a huge believer in vacations and think it would help your spirits a lot. And I can't criticize spending money on a vacation when you don't have much to throw around cause we're spending a fortune on ours between November and February and we definitely don't have near enough. But let me tell you, I woke up this morning and realized that we leave 2 weeks from tomorrow and I was thrilled. Just not being in this house everyday will make me happier, so I totally understand your urge to go to the waterpark. I say pack your stuff and head out! :thumbsup2

Well I really need to get to the invitations while Henry is still sleeping in his swing. I wish he'd nap in his bed, but he'll only do maybe 20 minutes in there. At night he doesn't seem to have a problem so I can't figure it out. Just I shouldn't push my luck though cause Madison never slept as long as he did at this age. And he goes to bed at 6:30 for 12 hours with just 1 feeding. But this cat nap in the swing stuff during the day can be maddening when I have stuff to get done! Time to start writing.

Good morning everyone!

Tasha - What an awful story about a DISer who was killed by a truck. How awful for her daughter and family. I will say a prayer for her. I am glad that Kylie is feeling better and it's so cute how she was pulling off your socks and playing with you - she's at such a fun age!

Gems - Thanks again for the Exchange info - have fun planning Shelby's 1st Birthday Party!!! :goodvibes And sorry the pictures of Nick Lachey were a little dark, but he was sooooooo gorgeous. He actually looks just as good if not better right up close!

Nucpharm - I hope Matthew is finally feeling better - I know how worried us mom's get when we can't keep our babies temperature down when they're running a fever. :grouphug:

Ginamarie - It was a tough loss yesterday - UGH. I hope they're able to tie up the series when they come home to play game 6.

GLT - I would most definitely book that room and have a great time. I love indoor water parks and i'm sure your kids would have a blast. Go for it!!! :)

Robin - Sorry to hear about your illness and pink eye! You poor thing. It's hard enough being sick, but being sick while trying to take care of 3 kids must be very tiring. Try to get some rest when the older kids are at school if you can. I hear you about eating a lot when in WDW. I am going to bring my Pedometer on our next trip, but I know we walk at least 4 miles on a park day. I never gain weight when at WDW - it's the other 360 days of the year that I have a problem ;)

Staci - Welcome to the Mom's group!!! :teeth:

DisneyDancer - Welcome to the Moms' group to you too!!! :)

Justine - you poor thing. It sounds as if you had just a terrible night with the baby being sick and with Madison. Hope last night was better. :grouphug:

Tamie - I can't believe what that woman said to you! Some people just have some kind of nerve. You are so pretty and I would try and forget about what she said because you do not look like a grandmother! I just can't understand why people have to make comments that obviously are meant to hurt others.

Diskim - Sorry to hear about the incident with your babysitter. Sorry to hear about your friends getting divorced also. I have a friend who is going through her 2nd and she's only 35. It's sad, because she's a good person, but has just had some bad luck.

Loretta - Your MIL is out of control! I can't even believe she thought it was acceptable to throw a phone at you. I'm so glad that your Husband stood up for you and told her off. I'm glad that your FIL will still watch the kids for you this weekend. We don't have a babysitter for evenings at the moment - when I have an event to go to, DH and I usually just trade off the night. We do have a wedding in a few weeks but I asked my friend months ago if she could babysit. There are some kids in my cul-de-sac who are 12 and almost ready to babysit. I do think sometimes DH and I need a night away from the kids, and we need to work on that. I wish MIL could babysit for us, but she lives 4 hours away, and my dad is not really capable of watching both of my kids because of the diapering issue.

Jill - Sorry you had to drop a class, but great news on your placement!!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2: You must be so excited.

BNB - Those seizures sound very scary. Thanks for the info about them though in case we ever had to know. LOL about Luke waking up everytime you DIS!

Dizagain - LOL at Hannah and her flying packing peanuts all over your yard. Those things are so much fun! Sorry to hear all the confusion with the pizza order!

SL - Glad to hear no one quit at work while you were on vacation. Sounds like it was a quiet week at work the week you were gone. It's always nice to come back to that! :thumbsup2

Lissawynn - I love the new picture of Jimmy on the slide!

Cabmom - Thanks for sharing your new pictures!!!

Fabumouse - I had to laugh on the "Red Hammer" Thread where you referred to yourself as a "Pod" person. I said "Blue Hammer" so I wasn't that far off. Maybe because my favorite color is Blue? I hope Kailey has been feeling better also!

Joats - Sounds like you had a great dinner - and you're right - you need to make sure to plan more nights like that so you can enjoy yourself every now and again!

FF - So sorry to hear about the Credit Card mixup and when Kona went to the bathroom on the floor. Sometimes when it rains it pours! :grouphug:

Bellacam - Hope that you and Aidan are feeling better soon! I know how crummy it is to be sick when you're pregnant! :grouphug:

HI to Vald, DisneyPhD, J&D, and all of my mom friends.

Oh, someone asked about Christmas $ - we don't spend a lot on Christmas - maybe $125 per child? Even Kevin's not quite at the age where he's asking for large dollar electronics yet or anything like that. For him, it's more about quantity than Quality. I think it was 2 years ago where we splurged and got the Thomas Train table at the tune of $300, but that has been one toy that has been used all the time, and will last for many years to come for both kids.

Oh, and I did watch "DWTS" yesterday - I voted for Emmett and Cheryl. I felt bad for Jerry, but that routine was just terrible! I wonder what's all going to happen with this Sara Evans divorce? I felt really uncomfortable watching her talk about her marriage falling apart, but because of her contract they probably made her do that.

Well, gotta run and get back to the kids - talk with everyone later!

Just a super quick post from me. I need to go over to my mom's house today. I think I told you guys that I was decorating her old sewing room as a new playroom. I'm finally going to get started today. I had to wait for her new sewing room to be done.

alice - I'm hoping that things will settle down at Disney with the food thing. I think they'll be getting a lot of negative feedback and while I don't think they will pull the plug, I hope they'll come up with a happy medium. I'm not sure why they can't just offer healthy options and put a little symbol by it that denotes it as being healthy. I think it will end up being fine, eventually!

justthat - Good luck with your invites!

tasha - Don't you love when the kids are extra lovely? It just mealts your heart!!

nucpharm - Have fun at Toyrs R Us! That's too funny!

glt - I think you should go! That sounds like a great break for your family.

staci - Welcome!!!

fabumouse - Adorable conversation with Crush! How did he respond to that?

gm - good luck with work!

OK - I really need to get going. I have a feeling that the decorative painting could take me all day and I really can't spend all day there!

Have a good day!

Tamie

Good morning all! Another wild day of laundry up here--the cleaning ladies come tomorrow, so I'm running amok tidying up. they're paid to clean, not pick up, so theoretically, I do the picking up beforehand!

GLT--The indoor water park sounds like a ton of fun. They recently built one by Lake George, about an hour from here, but we've never been. It sounds like a great way for the kids to get plenty of exercise and have a nice treat. Let us know the details if you decide to go. Also, I'm a firm believer that you have to have some treats in your life, no matter how "poor" you are (or feel!).

As far as the kid's meal changes at Disney, I'm not thrilled about them, either. I'm all for healthy eating, and giving kids choices, but I tend to be much more lenient on vacation than I am at home. For instance, it's rare to have chocolate milk here, but on vacation, have it every day--you're on vacation! But I noticed at some of the places with the "Mickey Ear" plates, they didn't seem to have enough food for Robert (granted, he's a big eater, but he was still a child by their standards), plus the desserts were prepackaged. And while I don't want to knock myself out defending french fries, the chicken strips weren't horribly bad (all white meat, etc.), mac and cheese has protein, etc. How about letting the PARENTS decide what's appropriate for their family? My older two do love salad, but I have to watch Celeste carefully as she'll skip vegetables and then get constipated if I don't (TMI, I know). But my point is, they're my kids, I know they're weak spots--let me take responsibility for their diet, thank you very much!

Okay, rant over.

I'm glad to hear that others enjoyed Crush as much as we did. It really is a hoot! He asked Robert his name, then who brought him to WDW. Then they put DH on the spot, and asked him HIS name--Robert! (He actually goes by Rob, but he thought two Roberts would be funnier). It's definitely on our "must do" list for next time.

fabumouse--Even my younger niece (she's 9 now) started horses ~7yo, and the ranch we go to every summer you can't do the "real" ride until you're 7. Quite frankly, my niece really didn't get much out of it until about a year ago. It's kind of funny--her mom put her in it because her sister was in it, and I think my SIL gets off on having her kids in pricey things, KWIM?. But the niece really wasn't advancing or anything--and what was really funny was, I'd been hearing all about these lessons forever, and then we all get to the ranch, and they'll only let DNiece go on the "walk" ride--with my DH, becuase neither of her parents ride, and she's not good enough to go by herself (with other guests and wranglers). So, I don't see lessons doing a whole lot until maybe age 8--seriously. And it is real pricey, so maybe get her a Barbie stable, or whatever's in vogue these days, and call it a day until she's a little older.

I have to go. How does Luke do it? He's uncanny, I tell you!
