DisKim,

:thumbsup2 on the diapes. I'm tempted to order some even though I already ordered 2 boxes of Pampers last week. Kona has been waking up wet lately and her diapers just aren't doing the job. She's a size 6 which they don't always have at the store.

Were you able to use the code?

Kim- I definitely recommend Lands End- I'm sure their clothes will fit her better. I know I'm of 'larger' proportion now, yet I can still fit into their regular sizes without having to go to Womens. I would think it's the same with the kids. I know anything I have ever bought for Sam there is QUITE generous in sizing. Good luck!

And I would have killed DH too about not answering the phone. My DH is horrible about spare keys, etc., but when he was gone, I made a spare set and hid them so if I ever locked myself out, I could get in. Ha-ha, DH came home the other day with the wrong set of keys and called me to see if there was a spare. Because I'm so 'with it' ;) , there was! And then of course, I had to go put them back...he left them on the counter for a week. What good do they do there?

Speaking of DH, he is working his way back into my good graces. He had to work late last night on the other side of town where the Asian Superstore is; he brought home TWO loaves of that sweet Hawaiian bread (like at Ohana), and I mentioned the kids ate the entire DiGiorno pizza on their own- I had one SMALL slice and I was hungry; so he stopped and got our favorite Chinese soup and crab puffs. I couldn't believe my children! Sam had 3 slices, Josh and Molly 2 each! Geez! I guess that isn't enough for a meal anymore for all of us. Gotta get two. Plus they had fruit. :confused3

We all slept in today like rocks. I slept until 8:45! Of course, DH kept talking until almost midnight. I finally just kept saying, "I'm trying to fall asleep." I have got to get the kids back in the habit of going to bed at 8:30 instead of 10!

OK, PLay Station 2 it is. And THANK you SL for letting me know it doubles as a DVD player. DH wants to get the boys a flat TV to mount on the wall (they're only $200 at Costco- NOT a plasma, just a flat one) but I was arguing that then we would have to buy a DVD player too. The TV they have now has a DVD player built in. It doesn't get regular TV, that part is broken, but it plays movies fine. (which I kind of like). But it's a bulky TV to try and mount on the wall. Now I can tell him that the PS2 will play the DVDs. :thumbsup2

SL- Glad you had a fun dinner with friends!

Bellacam- A Sprinkle! How fun! Your names are really cute....how exciting for you! ENJOY your steak, and how nice of your DH to get those tickets for you!

FF- thanks for the diapers heads up. I'm sorry your DS has heartburn- how scary that must have been for him the first few times he had it!

Val- Sorry Aunt Flo has come on with a vengeance. And IRRITATING that she will likely come again during WDW. :furious: Not good, but that's life for a woman I guess. Last night's show also vindicated my opinion that Howie is a jerkface- he is just so darn shallow and tried to act all funny. He's mean. Not that I like Marcellus, but the stuff he was saying about everyone else. Mean, mean, mean.

I am sure Erika will nominate Janie and CG, but maybe CT can convince her to go with Dani?

BNB- I think most of us would agree, we would much rather be watching Illuminations, Wishes and Fantasmic than Boogie and Erika making out. We will fill you in on anything important. ;) Have fun and I will be thinking of you and praying MIL doesn't do anything to get her chucked into Bay Lake! :rotfl:

I don't know what I'm going to do today. I really got all caught up on the big household chores yesterday. I might go to Target and check out the PS2 stuff, but I am wary to buy it right now. I would go WITHOUT DSs; wouldn't want to get their hopes up. They go to swim camp again today. Next week we have NOTHING planned, except being home Monday afternoon cause our bed is FINALLY coming! :cheer2: I might take them to a few fun places as a last hurrah before school starts.

Just a quick message to let ya'll know that I'm still around and will have internet by Monday at the latest. Funny how they got the phone hooked up but the DSL had to wait! :confused3 Right now I'm surfing the net at the library, so I better get off of here. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Stephanie

bellacam - I forgot to say how cute Aidan's picture's where, I love them! How sweet of your hubby to get you tickets to that show. They are playing here tonight at the State Fair. I really wish we could go, just to see Gary Allen. We aren't huge Rascall Flatts, fans, but we love Gary! He puts on a great show. Have fun!!!

jill - have a fun day with John! Good luck getting ready for your party!

alice - Chinese sounds so good! It always sounds good to me though. Tyler has been sleeping until 7:30 this week, I LOVE it! Much better than 6:30.

ff - Good deal on the diapers!

val - I hate when the timing of Aunt Flo messes with stuff! Pack the motrin for your WDW trip! Yes, Tyler was quite proud of himself after getting up on the table!

sl - Dinner sounds like fun!

bnb - Good luck getting everything ready!

I ran to Old Navy this week and was really dissapointed to see that they didn't have their costumes out yet! Maybe I'll stop in next week.

I must be jumping the gun too early with winter coats too. I could have sworn that places had winter coats out already, but I haven't found too many. I'm in no hurry to buy one, I just kind of wanted to shop around so I know what to expect as far as cost. All that winter gear is going to add up!

Time to go make some lunch.

Tamie

Hi nucpharm - We miss you!

tykes - I love Gary Allan too. I have seen him several times, though not in the last two years. I got to meet him a few years back and he is just as great in person. Although he probably had, he told me he'd never meet a Bridget before and needed a picture! We had tickets to see him two years ago about a week after his wife passed and the show was canceled, so I am really excited to see him again. I do like rascal Flatts too, though. Glad to know Old Navy's costumes aren't out yet. I am getting their Bat costume for Aidan this year.

 Nucpharm.

I don't know why I feel the need to post all my shopping deals but maybe you need something they have. I must look like that's all I do is shop.

REI and REI outlet are having an additonal 50% off their super clearance merchandise.

www.rei.com www.reioutlet.com

I got a North Face Jacket for $59. :thumbsup2

I also got Tevas for each of the kids for $14-I've never gotten them so cheap.

:thumbsup2

Valerie - baby duty always goes better for me because I have the equipment with the special nipple attachment. :teeth: Sorry about the PMS!

Thanks to everyone for the "sleep well Madeleine" wishes! She did really well last night, after her 7-11 pm period of straining to pass gas. :guilty:

FIL was better today, after DH had a talk with him about how he might help out. He even fixed a outdoor floodlight that I've been ignoring because, well, I'm too short to fix it. :teeth:

Robin - I went to Clackamas High. I didn't spend a lot of time in Lake Oswego, but I remember it as the fancy place to live. :groom: princess: Maybe next time we fly in we'll have a chance to do some outlet shopping.

I also have many cranky moments with DD. Her response is to shrink back into the corner, eyes wide like a deer in headlights, shrieking "you're scaring me!!!!". It's very, very dramatic. :rolleyes1 Especially for a child whose worst punishment has been a 10 minute "time-out".

GLT - have a great trip!

Kim - I could totally picture your grandma proudly showing her "finds"! Sorry about DH ignoring your call - I've had a few moments like that, and I KNOW he always answers when clients call, because that freakin' Blackberry is always hummin' and vibratin' and generally screaming for his attention.

J&D - my IL's LOVE that jazz stuff. There are cases of it on my kitchen floor. :crazy2:

BnB - have a GREAT trip!!!! :cheer2:

Bellacam - :sad2: I cannot believe your MIL. I think some people just really forget what it's like to have a newborn baby in the house. I need DH there just so I can pee! I don't know exactly what's going to happen when he goes back to traveling. I'm jealous of your date nights!

FF - thanks for posting the deals - I'm going to the REI one ASAP. We're using the Pampers Swaddlers right now - do you know where the cheapest place to order those is?? I know what you mean about feeling weird about having a young kid on Prilosec - imagine how we felt with DD taking it until age 3.

And just in time - looks like the baby is stirring. :wave2: :moped:

Fabumouse- what year did you graduate from Clackamas? My neighbor went there and graduated in 1990. I grew up in San Jose, but moved here in 1995. I live in Oregon City. Not nearly as fancy as Lake O!

Hi Nucpharm! Can't wait til you're back with us regularly!

Well, I did it. Do I have any patience AT ALL? Nope. We went to Costco to look at their bundle pack of PS2. A good deal if we liked the games. But we didn't. So I bought them Kingdom Hearts there for only $16 and we went to Target and I bought PS2 and Battlefront. I'm such a sucker. They got to play for only 30 minutes or so before it was time for swim camp.

OK, well I just had to share! Back to housework, etc. I am so scared to look at our AMEX statement this month!

fabumouse,

Target had swaddlers at 15% off this week. They looked like they were on clearance.

Amazon may have the swaddlers. if you buy $50 worth you can use the grocery2 code for $10 off and you should get free shipping.

Robin,

:lmao: I think we are sisters in another life. I would have done the same thing. I think you'll love the PS2. My DD really likes it and they make a lot of nice games for girls. Maybe Molly will be using it in a year or two.

Floridafam - I love when you post your shopping deals. Keep 'em comin' :thumbsup2 !

We just got back from the park and it was HOT!! Aidan had a lot of fun though. My friend's DD is a month younger than him and she is scared of him. He is a head taller than her and almost twice her weight so I can't really blame her.

Swaddlers are the best for newborns. I plan on asking everyone who is coming to the shower for neighbor to either bring a small pack of diapers or $5 to go in a 'diaper fund envelope'.

I think we may very well be sisters in another life FF. I've noticed many similarities in our personalities! Just call me impulsive shopper! At least when it comes to the kids....I have a hard time spending money on myself lately. I'm just hoping Molly doesn't step on the PS2! It's on the floor right now til we can get a wall mount TV.

OK, I seriously need to get the vacu-mop thingee out. And I haven't exercised yet either. I screwed myself by getting up so late; I am just in a slug-mode.

Val- Glad the new job is working out well. Sorry Katrina is sick :(

Jill- Yes, Olivia is wearing the gown that my sisters wore. I can’t wait to get her all dressed up in it. The weather forecast is terrible for this weekend, but we’ll have to make do. John looks TOO adorable in that duck costume! :goodvibes

Alice- My brother has all three of the game systems, so I know quite a bit about them. Between the Xbox and the Gamecube, I’d recommend the Gamecube. Gamecube seems to have more games geared towards kids (all the Mario ones, etc.). DH and I only have the PS2. I buy all of the PS2 games on clearance for $14.99-$24.99, and we have a pretty good selection. We just have to wait until the games are out for awhile. The Simpsons games are fun and I we bought them on clearance. We also have a cool Trivial Pursuit game that we played last week with DF. I’d also recommend the Katamari games. They’re fun for the kids and for adults (ahem.. me). We stay away from the games that are scary or violent. We don’t own any of the Star Wars ones, but I have borrowed a couple from my brother back when I had some free time.
Mike Boogie grosses me out too.

DisKim- Sorry you had a tough shopping trip. Our last one with the kids was like that.. they were restless and wild and just not listening, which is very unlike them. We did get one great story though. Mom had to stop in the bra store to get a halter bra. So DBro(3) gets in there and he loves it. He goes “this is the BEST store.” Then he starts pointing to all the bras and telling the customers, “my mom HAS that!” So he’s pointing to sports bras and frilly bras and cotton bras and telling everyone that his mom has that… then he sees a gigantic pair of ladies underwear and points to it and yells “My DAD has that!” :rotfl2: Everyone in the store just cracked up.

Tykes- Shrek in the backyard sounds like fun :)

Bella- It’s so nice that you guys get to plan a date night. I love your baby names.

FloridaFam- Have you tried giving your DS some Mylanta? I used to have terrible heartburn/acid reflux when I was a teenager, and the doctor suggested Mylanta, which really helped me.

I had another company come and give me a quote on movers. Ultimately, we’ve decided that we can’t afford them. It’s going to take longer and be more work, but $1000+ to just have our biggest pieces of furniture moved is insane. :confused3 My mom got stuck at BJs today when her car died. It looks like she needs a new starter. Olivia is so talkative today. She’s been gurgling at everything. DH talked to her on speakerphone twice already and can’t get enough of it.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I’ll probably take 800 Christening pictures, so I’ll be able to post some.

Good evening ladies!

Well, today was the most productive day I have had in months! :cool1: The girls went with my parents to the Spy Museum and John took two 2 ½ hour naps which was great. The house got cleaned, laundry done and lots of baking took place! A little studying got done, but not much. Of course, tonight I kept telling my husband that I must have put on 5 lbs. b/c my pants are so tight. He reminded me that I haven’t put on weight; I’m just swollen from being on my feet all day. :lmao: Duh! Sometimes I wonder about myself b/c I totally forgot that could be the case.

I also just purchased tickets to my 20 year high school reunion. My best friend and I are going and she reminded me that I needed to hurry up and get the tickets before the price increases. She would kill me if I forgot to sign up. Gosh, it is hard to believe that I graduated 20 years ago. I’m feeling like an old geezer here! :o

Ginamarie – Have a wonderful time with the Christening! I can’t wait to see the pictures. I bet Olivia will look like a little angel.

Robin – Congrats on the purchase of the PS2!! You will have to keep me posted on how the boys like it! :woohoo:

Floridafam and J&D – I appreciate you both posting the deals for us. :thumbsup2 Without you both giving us notice, I wouldn’t have gotten some of the deals I have in the past. Thanks!

DisKim – Sorry to hear that the park was hot. Too funny about the little girl being scared of Aidan. :teeth: Does he have any idea that she is afraid of him? He looks like such a sweetie that I can’t imagine anyone being afraid around him.

Fabumouse – That is great news that your FIL is helping out a little now. It is hard enough to have company, but when you have a newborn it is a killer. My MIL is one that needs to be waited on hand and foot. While she is a sweetie, her visits totally exhaust me.

BNBmom – Have a WONDERFUL trip!!! You will love the Poly! :mickeyjum

Bellacam – Have a great time out on date night tonight! Steak sounds delicious! BTW, I love the names you have picked out for your baby!

Nucpharm – Good luck with the internet connection. We can’t wait to have you posting again. :wave2:

Tamie – Good luck with finding the winter coats. I need to start looking for that stuff too. The girls have outgrown all of their winter gear.

I hope that GLT had a smooth trip to Ohio. :wizard:

Lissawynn – Where are you? We miss seeing your posts! :)

Gretchen – Where are you? I hope that your Disney trip was magical! :wizard:

Hi to SL, Zalansky, Val, Tasha, Hillbeans, Gems, Justhat, Ryan840, Joats, DisneyPhD, Cabmom, and everyone! :wave2:

Hi everyone!
We have what we call the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto for 18 days at the end of August every year. It's a family tradition for us to go. We went yesterday and while we were there we had a portrait done of our boys. I was so impressed with this man as an artist. I took a picture of him as he was doing it. It doesn't include our eldest. The picture is too large for me to scan on my computer so once I have it done I'll show you the whole picture. Here it is with 3 of them in it:
ed51c9f7.jpg

I can't wait to get it framed and put up on the wall. I'm going to have it made smaller so I can send it as this years Christmas card as well.
I enjoy reading about everyone and would like to be included in Gems exchange!
Marilynn

Gorgeous portrait, cabmom! :goodvibes

I am already tired of being a football widow, and the season just started. It is going to be a long one for sure. :guilty:

Have a great weekend, everyone! We have my BIL's surprise 30th b-day party to attend tomorrow night.

cabmom - What an amazing portrait!

Jill - Aidan may look sweet but he does have an evil streak. He is the only kid I've ever had who will hit and bite. He does it when he is tired. He has taken a swipe or two at Katie but it is usually at us. I really don't know what to do about it. I don't spank and my reasoning tactics don't work with a 16 month old. He is usually very sweet with Katie. He kept trying to "talk" to her and get her to follow him. My friend and I think she is traumatized from the baby of another friend of hers. She literally beats Katie up so now the poor baby is scared of all other babies. She's going to have to get used to Aidan because they will be at the same babysitter.

J&D - I'm sorry but the term football widow cracks me up. Coaching any sport is so time consuming but football must be the worst. I don't coach anything for that reason. The other reason is that I stink at every sport in the world :teeth: .

I was up so late last night. I've been very unhappy and it was time to vent to DH. It didn't really help at all. Aidan woke up screaming when I finally went to sleep. I'm guessing an ear infection is the culprit because he never usually wakes up in the middle of the night and he cried when I pressed on his ears. The kids' doctor cracks up because I've always got them diagnosed before I come in and I'm always right. I missed my calling :p . I actually think I might brave the stores and do a little more shopping for Emmy. Wish me luck. I haven't gotten any new clothes for Alex. He has really nice summer clothes and that is what he will be wearing the first month. I'll go to Osh Kosh and Carter's outlets when they put everything on sale. I looked in Gymbo for the boys and I wasn't thrilled enough to pay that kind of money for their clothes. I'm lucky I don't have a little girl or I'd be broke. Sorry I'm rambling. I'm tired. Have a great weekend :wave2: .

I feel like I have not had any time in the past 2 days. I had to get my bridesmaid dress altered for this wedding in 2 weeks and then get shoes. The dress is sage green (celedon or whatever) and she wanted gold sandals. Great, tell me that now when all the fall shoes have been out for a month and sandals are a rare find. I finally decided I am just wearing these goldish/bronze sandals that I already own cause I could not find anything that didn't look trashy. I figured since the dress is long no one will see my shoes well enough to know that they're not a true gold color. Then I had to be fitted, which I was dreading cause it's only been 3 weeks since I was huge and I still have 10 pounds to go.

Oh, Madison is calling for help from the potty. That's never a good sign. I'll be back later.

Hey ladies!

Jace's eye surgeon appt went well. We don't have to patch :cool1: and we don't need to go back again for 6 mos. DH is still going to physical therapy. He is now on short term disability at work. PT seems to think it will be another 2-3 weeks before he can go back. I've become better adjusted to my new responsibilities and less overwhelmed, however I'm still stress eating which is not good. Today I am going to take Jace to see my grandmother then visit my parents as they leave for London this week for 16 days! I will miss my mom and so envious of their trip!! I am so excited for them. I thought I would send flowers to arrive in their hotel for when they get there just as a little thinking of you.

DisKim: Sorry you have been feeling unhappy :grouphug: . Sorry your talking to DH didn't help. Jace is a biter too and I hate it. Hope Aidan feels better soon.
J&D: Football widow :rotfl2: Have fun at the party!
Cabmom: Gorgeous photo!!
Jill: Glad you had such a productive day yesterday. The Spy Museum is so much fun! That was mine and DH's favorite site in DC when we went a few years ago. The girls must have had a ball! love John's costume - too cute!
Val: Hope Katrina is feeling better.
Bellacam: Hope you had a fabulous date night! I love date night!! How was the movie? DH and I wanted to see it too.
BNB: Hope you are having fun!
Ginamarie: Good luck with the Christening, can't wait to see the pictures.
Hi Fabumous, Alice,Floridafam, tykes, SL , justhat and anybody else I missed.

2 questions for you all:
**At what age did you all stop burping your babies? I realize we still burp Jace after his bedtime bottle but I'm beginning to think he really doesn't need us to and we're just doing it because it's routine.
** I came across my HS photo the other day. Anyone interested in posting their photos to share? I know a while back people did their houses and wedding photos - let me know. It might be fun.

Our plan tonight is to just get take out (no big surprise there) and watch movies. Tomorrow our next door neighbor's son is having his 3rd bday party we are invited to. Other than that just cleaning and running errands (grocery store - :crazy2: )

Jace is napping, I'd better hit the shower while I can so we can go visiting.
Happy Saturday! :)
