Good evening ladies! :sunny:

I just wanted to give a big THANK YOU to BuzznBelle’smom, Laura, for all of our goodies! :cloud9: The maple sugar candy disappeared within 15 minutes. ;) I didn’t want to share it with my dh or kids! The Halloween Mickey is too cute and the girls have been playing the Halloween CDs all evening. We also love the pin, the lollipops, chocolate river rocks, Tink magnet frame and the pure Maple syrup. Yum Yum!! Thanks again! BTW, is tonight the Rec night for Jocelyn? I hope she has a great time!

DisKim – What a relief about your Aunt!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: I was thinking about you all today and hoping the surgery went well. Your news is just wonderful!!!!

Floridafam – Good luck with your tests. :grouphug: I hope that everything is ok! Have a great time tomorrow at the salon!

Nucpharm – It is so hard to believe that Matthew and John will be one soon! I forgot to mention that Meagan has done the standing by the bed in the middle of the night thing too. It always freaks me out.

J&D – How are you feeling today? Thanks for the links too! I will probably pick up a few things from Scholastic.

GLT – How is your dd liking school these days? Any better?

SL – Have a great time at the wedding this weekend! I’m with everyone else about loving MNSSHP! We had the best time last year at the party.

Lissawynn – I’m sorry that you are feeling crappy. Do you feel any better today? That is terrible too about that nasty nurse too! My old OB (when I was pregnant with Katie) was condescending to me once and he made me cry.

Justhat – Have a safe trip to NJ!

Fabumouse – Sorry to hear that school has been a little rough for your daughter. :grouphug: Do you think that it is just the stress of the beginning of the school year? Did she do fine in preschool last year once the class got into the rhythm for the year? I hope that everything works out for you all!

Hillbeans – Thanks so much for the comforting words about John’s sleeping. I don’t feel so alone knowing that others have babies who aren’t the best sleepers. :grouphug: Although, I wish for your sake that Liam does turn into a super sleeper very soon. I know it must be hard to work and not have a good nights rest.

Robin – How long is your MIL in town for? I’m so sorry that you weren’t able to get a spot at CC. That is so great that you are faithful to your exercise program. I have been terrible about exercising since my surgery. Monday sure does sound like a busy day for you too!!

Zalansky – Some of my in-laws live in NC and really love it! They are all transplants from Long Island too. They left because the cost of living was too high as well.

Tamie – Have fun scrapbooking tonight!

Ginamarie – Have fun with the sleepover tonight and the housewarming party!

Dizagain – I’m sorry that some lady called Carson your ‘oops’ baby. I get that a lot too with having two older daughters and a baby. Even though John was a surprise (years of infertility), he is a huge blessing to us. We always tell people that John was an answer to Meagan’s prayers. She prayed for a baby brother for years and lo and behold, I got pregnant with John. Hang in there!

Gems – Sorry to hear that you are all alone tonight! Thanks for organizing the Christmas exchange!

Joats – I hope that it doesn’t rain for your 3 mile walk! Have a great time at the picnic tomorrow.

Well, I think that Katie had a pretty good birthday today. I felt like a terrible mom this morning though b/c I got mad a Katie. John had woken up at 6 a.m. and when I went in to check on him, Katie had his light on and was playing with him. I shooed her out of there and was scolding her for waking him up. :guilty: She started crying b/c she thought that she was helping us by playing with him. Ugh. I felt terrible b/c I am turning into cranky mommy from lack of sleep and from being hunched over books all the time. If I’m not studying then I’m cleaning, cooking or doing laundry. I feel like I have no 'down time' to relax. Oh and I found out that 22 people are coming over to our house next Sunday and not 18. Four more people really isn’t a big deal, but I’m stressing over all that needs to get accomplished in a week before our company starts to arrive. My MIL called last night to say that she is staying for an extra day too. Calgon take me away………

I hope all the moms are doing well! Have a great weekend everyone! :wave2:

I ended up leaving work sick at 1:00. I had a headache so bad I was dizzy and nauseous. My boss pretty much told me I look like crap and sent me home. I came home, took some sinus pills, and fell asleep for an hour and a half. When I woke up, I was feeling much better so we met my parents and Lucas at the fair and walked around for a few hours. It was getting so cold so we left. I don't think I'll see my parents again before their trip (and ours!) so it was nice to spend some time with them before they go.

DisKim - So glad to hear about your aunt! What a scare, though!

Alice28 - Sorry you couldn't book anything at Coldwater. After the week you had, you deserve it!

lissawynn - I hope you're feeling better. Sorry you didn't get a chance to report that nurse.

nucpharm - Good luck with the "interview". Hope you had a good time at the picnic.

hillbeans - Hope Liam has a good night's sleep.

floridafam - Good luck with your tests on Tuesday.

zalansky - Good luck to your sister if she decides to move.

BnB and Dizagain - Let us know how rec night went!

tkyes - Have fun scrapbooking tonight.

ginamarie - :rotfl2: I have a hilarious image of you running around the liquor store with your giant bottles of JD!

joats - Good luck at the diabetes walk. I hope you don't get too much rain.

fabumouse - I hope you can get the situation with Kailey straightened out.

llij - :grouphug: We all have those cranky mommy moments. I hope you can get everything done before your company comes.

I'm beat so I think I'm going to head to bed. Good night, everyone. :wave2:

Hi - only have a second as DH is feeding Carson and then he's most likely heading to sleep. So, quick post.

Fabumouse.. Just thinking about Kailey from my "teacher" point of view. She's got a strong will, she's still very young, and she just had a major change in her life. The best thing is that you know what triggers her outbursts and I can totally see that - HAVE seen similar behavior MANY times. While I was teaching in a small class size setting for the last 7 years, it was fairly easy to get to know the temperaments of all the kids and even to help ease situations I knew were stressful for them. When I taught full-day public K with 28 kids it was much harder. What did her teacher say he would like to do about it/how is he handling it? It is good that you know this now and have all of K to work with her on "dealing"...I know it will get better! Just as an fyi - the adorable, bright, precocious, quirky kids who got in trouble always got my heart! I Remember one told me after an outburst once, "Mrs. Little - you can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes you just might find you get what you need!!!" I swear- he was straight-faced the whole time, so serious. His dad always said that to him evidently!! Hang in there! Kailey will be just fine.

Oh and Hayley and Hannah are 10 and 12! So I can see why people think, "oops", but I still don't expect total strangers to say anything out loud!!

Hope everyone else has a good evening/weekend! Got to go rescue the DH!

DisKim- That is great news! I have been thinking about your aunt all day. It reminded me of the day that my grandma had her lung cancer surgery. I remember my mom calling and saying that it was lung cancer but that the dr believed they got it all. Unfortunately she developed liver cancer six years later and they weren't able to remove the cancer cells that time because they had taken over almost all of her liver and had already spread.

SL- Hope you feel better soon! Enjoy the wedding, and have a great trip!

Jill- I am feeling much better. I think I just had a stomach bug or something. Thanks for asking. I would be doing some major stress eating if I had 22 people coming over to my house. I get stressed whenever it is just my parents coming over. My house can't hold 22 people, so that actually would never happen. Glad Katie had a good birthday.

lissawynn- Have fun at the fair.

fabumouse- I read your thread last night. :rotfl: I will admit that that happened to me once shortly after my DD was born.

zalansky & floridafam- I read your posts on the colon cancer thread. I'll admit that I also self-diagnose using the Internet. My DH says that one day I'll convince myself that I have the symptoms of prostrate cancer. :lmao:

Robin- Sorry you couldn't get a facial with your MIL.

joats- Enjoy your picnic in the park.

Gems- I love Supernanny, but I rarely watch it. My nephew (7) has told my sis that he wants Jo Jo to come to their house. He thinks she is cool. I want to read her book.

GLT- PM me your e-bay ID and I'll take a look at your auctions.

dizagain & BnBM- How were the rec nights?

Ginamarie- Hope you survive the sleepover.

Tamie- Hope you had fun scrapbooking.

nucpharm- How was your interview?

Hillbeans- Hope you get some rest this weekend.

DisKim, so glad to hear that everything with your aunt is fine. That must be such a relief for everyone to know there was no cancer! Good luck to her in the recovery from her surgery.

Time for bed now cause it's super late. Today's drive went well-we left Madison's school at 11:44 and got to my mom's office around 4:20, including a stop to change a blowout diaper that involved changing Henry's outfit and cleaning the carseat, plus feeding him. Funny little tidbit for you all. There's a toll at the end of Maryland/beginning of Delaware. I pull through the toll booth, entering Delaware, and lo and behold the cars in front of me are slowing to a stop. 2 left lanes closed and there are various construction trucks ripping them up. Absolutely amazing. I swear ladies, it's the state of perpetual construction!

Morning. I spent most of the night trying to sleep sitting up in the recliner. I think I got about 4 hours total. Because Sudafed is the only thing I can take, it keeps me up all night. DH left a few minutes ago to pick up stuff he ordered to put in the heat when we have our upstairs. I told him no messing around. Pick up the stuff and come home.
Jimmy was wide awake before 8 and is having his cereal and juice. I have to laugh b/c the kid loves taking his medicine. He must think amoxicillin is some kind of special treat. Maybe it's because I keep saying "yum" while giving it to him.

It looks beautiful outside and I would hate to spend the day in the house. Maybe a short trip to the fair won't be too bad.

justthat - Glad you got to NJ safe and sound. Sorry about the diaper blowout.

jill - I hope you can get everything done before your company arrives. What's 22 people instead of 18? ;)

SL - I hope you're feeling better today and you can enjoy the wedding.

Hi everyone!

Lissawynn - I hope you feel better today. You should try to get out for a bit. It might help your congestion to be outside.

Well, we're having a totally "fall" day today. There is an apple festival down the street so we're going there for a couple of hours this morning. Then, we're going to go apple and pumpkin picking. My dad and stepmom are here so I figured I'd give them a taste of fall in NJ. They just moved to NC in August and it sounds so nice. I think I might try to convince DH to go for a visit soon. I think if he sees it again, maybe I can convince him to move.

Thanks for all the well wishes for my aunt. I believe God works in mysterious ways. Their family fights a lot over the stupidest little things. My uncle has a very short temper. I hope this scare teaches them to appreciate each other more and enjoy life.

diskim--Yeah that your aunt will be okay!!!! :cool1:  Hopefully, her recovery from her surgery will be fast! Have fun on your fall day--The kids and I were supposed to go apple picking on Monday, but the outing with the mommy group was cancelled due to lack of interest. Maybe I'll haul the kids out there anyway

justhat--glad to hear you made the trip safely

lissawyn--hope you can get some relief today--I remember all too well the nights during pregnancy sleeping on various pieces of living room furniture

gina--hope your sleepover went well--you sound like a really great sister!

Alice--for some reason, last night at dinner DH and I started talking about your trip to Hawaii and how much it would cost and then I told DH that you had done the numbers about going to WDW and that it would be cheaper--but that you didn't think your DH would agree to it--my DH was like " they should definitely go back to WDW" ;) maybe we'll see you there! ;)

My interview went just like I thought it would--when I walked in the pharmacy supervisor ( a girl I used to work with) said "You do realize this is just a formality, right? that you already have the job" Pretty cool! :cheer2: So I'm going to work every 3rd weekend after I finsh my training, which I can do in the evenings and weekends. I might add another night a month, but right now we're just in the trial phase. The $$$ is good enough that the one weekend will help out lots!! I told DH last night that sometimes I feel a little guility about making that much per hour for what I do--but hey, I don't control that, right?

The treasure hunt and picnic were fun. The treasure hunt was set up with clues from nursery rhymes--Like the 1st clue for us was "Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of _____" So of course the answer was "water", so then we went over to the lake and found our first goodie and another clue. And then the last clue led you back to the picnic tables where the "treasure chest" was and the kids got to pick a prize out of the chest. The goodies at each stop were like pencils, erasers, candy, etc. It was really fun, creative, and inexpensive.

diskim - That's such great news about your aunt!!! I'm so happy to hear that!

I think it's time to take Tyler outside. He's getting a bit restless. I just need to find some clean socks for him (I think that means it's time to do some laundry!!)

tamie

Good morning, ladies! I onlyhave a few minutes because Luke is getting tired of Celeste entertaining him. She tries real hard, but heck, she's three--not exactly an age for understanding the "cues" from a little person!

Jill--I'm glad you liked your package. Maple candy is DH's absolute favorite, so I never get to have any! Good luck getting everything ready for all your guests. just remember--don't freak out if the house doesn't look "perfect"--you're only going to have to clean up afterwards, anyway, right?

Kim--That's fabulous news about your aunt. You're right--hopefully it will make your family appreciate each other a bit more.

Alissa--I hope you feel better soon.

SL--Have a great time at the wedding!

Dizagain--Some people say the stupidest things. My favorite dumb thing was always, "You have the perfect family", back when we had two kids. Does that make families with other than "one boy and one girl" IMperfect? And we knew that we wanted more, but it took us 6 years to get Celeste. And of course, people don't think about secondary infertility, or for whatever reason you might "legitimately" space kids out. And of course, my MIL thinks 2 is the only number of kids to have--she thought she had us completely trained, and now here we are at 4! In all seriousness, she'll never forgive us. At my mother's funeral, she made a comment to my sister about how you should only have 2 kids to replace yourselves on the planet, and she didn't know what DH and I were thinking! Yeah, this I need to hear when I'm nursing my baby while burying my mother! Fortunately, my quick-witted sister pointed otu that, in fact, DH and I were doing just that--I'm one of 4 myself, and the only one with children, so I was shouldering that burden for my siblings! I was so glad my sister stuck up for me, as I just wasn't in the mood to get into it with MIL.

Anyway, rec night went well. Jocelyn and her friends all hung out in a group and had a blast. their only contact with boys was blowing their doors off at foosball (you go, girl!). they had to scream whenever someone's favorite song came on, which turned out to be, well, almost every song, so she was hoarse by the time she got home. But she had a great time and was glad she went and hung out in a group--she said that was the way to go!

I have to run.

whew, that a morning. The kids were up wayyyy too early. DS was up at 5, got him to lay in our room, about 20 minutes later I hear Leif, I turn off the monitor, and then I hear Leif as if he is out of the bed. I keep listening and he sounds farther away, DD was up and took Leif out of the crib, so our day began wayyyyy tooo early.

I made us pancakes and then we walked down the street to say bye to a neighbor. I cried. She has three kids too and the last year we have become close. She is moving just an hour away, but far enough that we can't see each other, adn the kids can't see each other, every day. We had been carpooling to school this past month. I'm just kinda sad about it. You know whe you just have that connection with someone, plus our kids are all close in age....I'll miss her company.

Jill - DD still complains about school. She complains that she doesn't want to be away from me all day long, and that she hates school. I think she doesn't hate school, she just wants to be home and play all day.

joats - I watched a bunch of TIVO shows last night too.

tamie - I have a mound of laundry too! Hope you got out to play. It's drizzly and cold here. I was gonna take the kids to the children's museum, but they (read DD) has been soooooo defiant today, I don't think she deserves it.

DisKim - sounds like you have some fun things planned today! I think we will go next weekend to a pumpkin farm. Take some pics for us!

nucpharm - way to go about the pharmacy job! That's great. The party sounds nice. What great ideas.

lissawynn - sorry you are feeling so badly. I hope you get to the fair and begin to feel better soon! :wizard:

Hi to the other mommies, will catch up more (I hope) later!

<---------softly playing Mission Impossible music......

DH told me to request some overflow information from SOG. (half the time we want to go they are already booked). He made me write out all the prices, and it comes out to half the price of Hawaii. ($3,500 vs 7,000). He also said it would make a huge difference if some grandparents came, so I called my parents and she said they are most likely up for it. :bitelip:

It sounds like I will have to be doing many 'favors' if this comes to fruition. :rotfl: Men. Gotta love them for their one track minds, right?

He is now looking up Disney Cruise information. Justhat- that Meditteranean Cruise sounds so fantastic! You are lucky!

lissawynn- hope you are feeling better today. :wizard:

Kim- yes, I hope this situation brings your family closer together too.

GLT- I'm sorry your neighbor moved away. That's always hard. :guilty:

BNB- what a thing for your MIL to say to you at your own mother's funeral! Geez! Some people just have not a clue at decorum.

Fab- I hope you can figure out with the teacher a plan for Kailey to adjust to kindergarten. It's so hard to know what to do sometimes...

Tamie- hope you can find Tyler some socks...I have that problem with the boys and their socks too!

nucpharm- WTG for the part-time job! Sounds like it will be perfect!

J&D- glad you are feeling better!

SL- I hope you are feeling better today----have a GREAT trip :mickeyjum :donald:

OK- DH just left on a walk with his Mom.....I'm SO EXCITED about the possibility of going to WDW! I'm trying to be very low-key about it with him, but inside, I am like this  We haven't been to WDW together since Feb of 2003. My last 3 trips he hasn't gone on- 2 girl trips with mom and then last fall my parents treated the kids and I while DH was still in Iraq. I requested overflow rates for WL, YCBC or the Poly....I'm hoping the WL will work out, but the Poly would be nice for the monorail too. I think if it's less than $240, we can swing it for a few nights, esp by staying 4-5 nights at Shades which is about $100 a night.

Wow.......I know he will want to eat at Brown Derby and probably Narcoossee's- two restaurants he has wanted to try our last two trips. I don't care where we eat if we can actually go!

OK, I need to get the kids ready for the day. They woke up and immediately started playing PS2.

alice - lol about the favors! That's too funny that your hawaii trip has turned into a possible wdw trip! I hope it all works out for you! How fun that your parents might come too.

lissawynn - Yes, I'm still doing the growth charts. I would be more than happy to make one for you. Send me a PM if you are interested and we can chat in more detail!

bnb - Oh my! I don't know what I would say to my MIL if she said something like that!!

glt - Sorry to hear it's a yucky day where you are. It's gorgeous here today. That should mean that you'll have this weather soon though, it usually works out that way. Sorry your neighbor moved. It's so nice to have a neighbor that's also a friend.

nucpharm - The job sounds great!

sl - Sorry to hear you went home sick yesterday. I hope you are feeling 100% very soon. You guys are going to have so much fun on your trip! Did you make Lucas any tshirts? I have some tshirts that I'm going to make for Tyler, but I can't decide what to put on them.

diskim - Have fun! I love going to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard. That's on our next weekend agenda.

justthat - sorry about the blowout! yuck!

jill - Sorry to hear your group is growing in size. I'm sure it will all come together well. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to stress to much about it. You have enough going on.

joats - No, I haven't had any orders from the flower shop. It's all been word of mouth and through friends.

Tyler is down for his nap and I have a few things I want to get done.

See ya!!

Tamie

Hi everyone! :sunny:

Lissawynn - I'm sorry that you didn't get much sleep last night! :grouphug: I hope that you start to feel better very soon!

Robin - That would be just wonderful if you all could go to WDW!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I hope that it works out for you all! Having your parents come along is great too!

BNBmom - I'm glad to hear that Jocelyn had a great time at Rec night last night. :thumbsup2 I suppose that I get to look forward to that next year when Meagan is in middle school. I'm taking notes from you on how middle school is going! ;)

SL - I hope that you are feeling better this morning. Have a fantastic trip! I can't wait to see pictures!

GLT - I'm sorry that one of your friends moved away. :grouphug: It is always so hard to say goodbye to someone that you have made a close connection with.

Nucpharm - Congrats on the job! :woohoo: That is great news!

DisKim - Have a great time apple and pumpkin picking today.

Tamie - Good luck getting everything done today!

Justhat - Have a good time in NJ this weekend! Too funny about DE being under construction. I know exactly what you are talking about with the bridge and all that construction. Yuck.

J&D - I'm glad that you are feeling better! :goodvibes

Does anyone know when Val is coming back?

Hi to dizagain, fabumouse, Zalansky, Hillbeans, Gems, Ryan840, floridafam, Joats, Tasha, Bellacam, DisneyPhD, Cabmom, Gretchen, and Ginamarie! :wave2:

We decided to decorate for the fall and Halloween this morning so that was fun! We've got soccer in a little bit so I probably should get John up from his nap and feed him lunch. The poor boy is tired b/c he got up a few times last night. I noticed that he has two more teeth popping through so that makes 6 teeth coming in within a month. Poor guy!

Well, tonight is my 20 year reunion and I'm not exactly excited about it. Sadly, I would rather sleep since my parents are taking the kids for the night! :rotfl2: I'm only going b/c my best friend is, but I'm sure it will be fun to see what everyone has been doing since graduation. :teeth:

Everyone have a great Saturday! :sunny:

Hi Mommies,

I'm back and I feel like butter, like a big stick of butter. :teeth:

It was heavenly. I can't even describe it. I've already scheduled a return appointment.

I then went and got my hair colored and it turned out really well. DH even said he'd be curious what more highlights would look like in my hair next time. I was pretty conservative this time.

I'll be back later to catch up with everyone.

:wave2:

Floridafam - That is great that you had a wonderful time! :cloud9: It is always so nice to get away and get a little pampering. You deserve it! Post a picture of your new highlights!

ff - that sounds wonderful!! glad you had a good time!

jill - poor John and the teeth! I hope your reunion is fun tonight! LOL about wanting to just sleep.

I just spent way too much money on some scrapbook supplies online. In October I'm going with a girlfriend to a scrapbook retreat. We'll be staying at a bed and breakfast type place for the whole weekend. It's set up with work tables and everything so you can scrapbook all weekend. I wanted to get a bunch of supplies since I don't know if there's a store nearby.

Robin,

I almost spit Coke all over my monitor when I read about the "favors" you'll be doing. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: It's nice to know we can talk our DH's into anything as long as favors are involved.

I really hope you get to go to WDW. Those SOG overflow rates are usually pretty good, right?

We are talking about going in January if we can swing it. Everyone will need a break by then and the weather is usually pretty nice.

lissawynn,

I'm sorry you had to spend the night in the recliner. Any word yet on if the Dr. thinks it is something more serious than heartburn? I wish they could give you something stronger. :grouphug:

bnbmom,

I'm glad rec night went well. :sunny:

I'm jealous of all of you who have mentioned your Fall activities. I so want to go to an apple orchard right now. We used to go to a place in Michigan called Robinette's and they had fresh cider, apples, homemade donuts. YUM! I'm tempted to call there and ask them if they ship their donuts.

I'll see if I can get DH to take a picture of my hair later.

I stopped at TJ Maxx between appointments and they had this really expensive Peg Perego stroller for $199. If any of you are in need of a stroller, you might want to check out your local TJ Maxx. It was the kind where the handle can be forward or backward(so the baby can face you if you want) and it had a huge basket. I definately would have bought it if we didn't already have one.

Be back later. :cool1:

FF- I'm so glad you got to do that! I love feeling like 'buttah.' (oh how I LOVED that era of SNL!). I am so ready to do it again at CC, but for a massage/scrub, facial AND pedicure. I just have a really hard time spending that kind of money on myself (says the woman who easily spends $200 a time on her DD or DSs on clothes).

BNB- So glad that Jocelyn had fun at rec night! Sounds like she has a good group of 'gal pals.'

Tamie- Oh how I know how easy it is to go overboard on scrapbook supplies! I've reigned in it somewhat lately because A. I have slacked on working on them, and B. a friend of mine is a creative memories consultant and she asks that we make a $90 retail purchase every quarter in exchange for her discount...so really I'm only spending $60. Not a bad deal, and it mostly keeps me out of the scrapbook store except for stickers. :teeth:

Jill- I saw so much good food at Costco today, I don't think you will have a problem with at least the food portion of your family get together. How did it all end up at your house, anyway? I would hope others are willing to pitch in! Like others have said, it's not like you aren't busy.

lissawynn- hope you aren't quite so congested this afternoon.

We went to lunch with my MIL. She bought the kids a toy at Costco and she was trying to cut the plastic straps off with a knife and she cut her hand, so now she and DH went to urgent care for stitches. Why she didn't use my heavy duty shears which were right there is beyond me. Oh well, I think it will just need some of that glue..

She, DH and the kids are going to go for a Jet Boat ride on the river tomorrow afternoon. I volunteered to stay behind with Molly.

FF- I think the overflow rates at SOG are usually about 30-40% off rack rate. It says deluxes start at $164, so I imagine that means WL or AKL. I can do $164 for 3-4 nights. If he says 'yes' you can bet I will be ebaying like a fiend again and doing Sunshine full throttle again. The only thing I am bummed about is no dining plan, but I guess that saves me some calories too. :teeth: I certainly do not need dessert twice a day! DH is just on this kick that the kids need to expand their horizons and see more of the USA and I'm like, "We have a 2 year old and a 5 year old who don't give a rat's A$$....can't we do those kind of trips when they are older?"

Anyway, I'm off to peek at some menus on allears.............. :rolleyes1

ETA- I forgot to tell you guys two things- my gymbo 'friend' MaryLou's DH came home last week! They have a nurse who comes and helps, but at least he is out of the hospital and nothing had to be amputated! :cheer2:

My best friend, who I have talked about here (with the child who drives me nutty) got FIRED yesterday! I could NOT believe it! She is so like me, biggest rule follower EVER, has a lot of integrity and she got fired after being a manager for 8 years with Old Navy over a return that she made a mistake with...over $2.50 was the total she 'cheated' the company out of. The company was doing an overhaul of investigating employees of abusing their employee discount and returns, so they decided to even look into managers (she's a GM of a HUGE old navy here in Portland, and has never even been written up). She had bought a ton of stuff on clearance at her store and another store. ..brought the stuff home and realized she bought duplicates. She returned some of it, but didn't realize some of the same stuff had slightly different prices....she ended up (not knowing) returning the stuff that was marked slightly higher with the lower receipt, so she returned items at a higher price she paid for them (like 2% higher). She did NOT knowingly do this and the person doing the return didn't realize it either. They went through all her purchases she made in the last 8 years, found this ONE mistake, and she got fired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I was STUNNED! I didn't know what to say to her! They are going to really be hurting financially. She was supposed to go to WDW tomorrow as the ON convention was in Orlando starting Weds., and she was going to go early to go to WDW for 2 days....she had to cancel and lost her $200 deposit. :guilty: :guilty:

There seems to be some politics involved as well, but I just feel for her. DH was let go over something assinine 7 years ago and I know what it is like to have that feeling of 'what the heck are we going to do now?'

Anyone having a rough day?....hopefully this will make you :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: as it did for me!

We had a great day at the park for our picnic. It was a nice day together.

Gotta run to do dinner, hope to be back later to do a proper posting.
Just wanted to post the funny link for a good giggle or two.
