BnBM- Have you driven a Durango? I drove one several years ago, and I ended up not liking it due to the slant of the windshield. I thought it created a blindspot on the sides when you needed to make a turn. They may have changed the design by now.

Have a super Sunday, everyone!

When we were looking at new cars this past summer, we test drove the Durango and ended up not liking it because it was slow to accelerate. We're not racecar drivers by any means, but we just need it to move when we push on the gas pedal. I'm thinking we'll probably end up with a mini van.

Hi Everyone...

My 2nd DS was born on 1/25/07, 11 lbs, 22.5 inches. His name is Brady. DS #1 is 5 y/o.

Congratulations, TiggerStac! Welcome to the world, Brady!

CONGRATS TiggerStac!

Well mommies, it looks like our thread is dying  so I'm going to part ways but I would love to keep in touch with you all, so please feel free to pm me anytime!

Oh gosh........:sad1: Those of you that are regulars, may be familiar with me as the new grandma!! I visit y'all for new mommy tips for my dd. Well, I am back from visiting daughter, new grandaughter and son-in-law in Honolulu. It was a great time! grandbaby is a doll! So hard to leave and not hold that bundle of cuteness. Well, today at work, I sent my dd a silly short e-mail. she responds something like "you brat...." Then I get another e-mail from her saying she wants to come home, she and husband are fighting....etc. OMG.......She had called her father and my husband gave her three phone numbers to call for military family assistance, etc. I end up sending her an e-mail, but still called.
I told her she was always welcome, but told her it would not help by leaving the issues at hand. Trying to tell her generic tips. I don't want to be her counselor, I told her going to an objective person is helpful. I was trying to say that they are dealing with creating their new role in life...........it's hard.
it's tough. She was trying to say particular issues and I was trying to be so neutural........She needs to step up to the game and realize she will have to hold the baby and also do something with the free hand! ha ha ha Her gripe agains husband is the PC. He loves (dare I say addicted) his PC games !
WOW , especially. You know, the PC sure is a new distraction! :surfweb: I dont have an answer to this issue! There have always been distractions to (mostly) men.....be it sports or whatever. I personally never had to deal with that particular issue (trust me, I had/have! my own issues I deal with my dh:rotfl: )

I will continue to be neutrual (sp) when asked for opinions. I do not want to be their counselor, trust me.

If any of you DO have any tips to share (in a generic/neutral way) I would appreciate your thoughts........

Hello ladies, wow this thread got so far down I had to do a search on it.

I returned to work for 2 1/2 wks and got really sick. I couldn't handle being back. I missed being with the boys! I've taken an extended leave.

Where are all you wonderful people who were so chatty? Am I missing something? I know I'm missing all of you ladies. Where'd the support system go?:sad1:

Please come back and update us!

Dean is now 15 months! Can't believe where the time has gone! He's really in need of a hair cut!:rotfl:

Hope you are all doing well and keeping warm if you are in the north like I am. It's -16 here tonight!:scared1:

Cabmom - I'm so sorry that work turned out to be too stressful. I am glad however, that you are able to stay home with the boys. Hugs to you. Brrrrr on the -16, that is crazy. We have been pretty cold here too, but are finally in the 20's. Much better than the negative stuff, but man, I just can't get warm these days. I like your new sig pic! Feel free to pm me any time.

All's been busy, and stressful, as all get out. But we are muddling through as well as possible. I gave Leif a cut a few weeks ago and am happy that it's finally growing a bit. He looks so much more grown up now :( Our babies are growing fast, aren't they?

GLT- Yes, most of our babies aren't babies anymore.

cabmom- I'm sorry to hear that you got sick, but I'm glad that you are able to take an extended leave from work. Is becoming a full-time SAHM an option for you and your family?

Hermosa- Beautiful new pics in your signature. Sorry I don't have any advice to offer you.

cabmom - I'm sorry to hear that returning to work was stressful for you. I can certainly relate to you. Working and having kids has never been easy for me. I do it because I have not been able to work out our finances to stay home. I hate every minute of it. I'm glad that you are able to take an extended leave and I hope things work out for you.

Hey, is our thread making a comeback??? :cool1: OK, maybe I'm jumping the gun but it'd be nice if it did!

Hi Ryan: How are you doing? I hope all is well. I've been thinking of you and the kids!

Cabmom - how are you doing today?

J&D - It must me nice and warm in Texas. We actually made it to 40 this week but are expecting huge snowfall this weekend. Crazy weather

Diskim - hi!

Any advice for a colicy 4 week old?? At first I was saying "oh it's just his fussy time of night" Usually about 6 or 7 til 10-11ish..then I said, I wonder if he is "colicy" so the wonderful internet and it probably is considered colic. It is 3+ hours a night, he is not consolable, doesn't want anything and it's been almost everynight for the last 2 weeks. We go to his pedi for his 1 mo checkup on Monday and I'll talk to him then, but wondering if anyone has any advice??

He is great during the day, doesn't really say a peep other than hiccuping, which he did nonstop while I was preg. He is on soy formula, as all of us were, me, dh, ds#1...so hospital started me straight on soy, due to that and the troubls ds#1 had w/regular.

tiggerstac--Sorry no advice here. But definitely discuss it with your dr. next week. Here's hoping you can get some rest this weekend!pixiedust:

cabmom--How are you doing today? :grouphug:

Ryan--How's it going with you and your little guys???

We're good, just busy!

This book The Happiest Baby on the Block gives advice on how to sooth a colicky baby. As with all "self-help" books, I read it with an open mind and took from it the parts that seemed to make sense to me.

Hey, everyone! Just wanted to say hi. Life has thrown us quite a few curveballs lately so it's been busy and a lot is going on. We are dealing though.

Ryan~ We are definitely going to Disney in May. My mom is joining us this time. We are hoping my grandmother will still be around and doing relatively well so that we might get to see her one last time while we are there. If she isn't with us anymore (which I am praying she will be!) we are thinking we might still go visit the rest of my family either way. Kylie and my cousin's 9 year old dd had a blast playing together a few weeks ago.

Tiggerstac~ No advice here either but I remember the first couple months were the hardest here too. Good luck!

Hi, cabmom! Hope all is well! Hi to everyone else!

Hey moms, it's great to see the thread moving again! Things are crazy here right now, today is Jack's birthday and my SIL has gone into labor so we're waiting to see if she delivers today!!! I messed up my ankle last night and can barely walk right now, great timing considering all the dr appts, picture appts and everything else I was supposed to do today, not to mention getting ready for the party. You should see me crawling up the stairs with a baby in tow :rotfl:

GLT- We're hanging in there, I've been thinking about you guys too- how are you holding up?

Tasha- I'm glad to hear that your grandma is still with us, I've been thinking about you too. How exciting that you're going in May too, where are you staying? I'll keep you all in my prayers that you can see your grandma at least one more time.

DisKim- It's great to "see" you, how have you been?

Nucpharm- My boys are keeping me on my toes (or my knees today :teeth:) How are your cuties doing? They must be so big now!

TiggerStac- Sorry to hear about the colic, my oldest had it and right now I can't even remember how we dealt with it :headache: At least you can use that to get through- you'll probably be so worn out and sleep deprived that you'll block it from your memory :rotfl2: Anyway, good luck, I hope you find something that works- I know how hard it can be.

Hi J&D, cabmom and all the other mommies :flower3:

This book The Happiest Baby on the Block gives advice on how to sooth a colicky baby. As with all "self-help" books, I read it with an open mind and took from it the parts that seemed to make sense to me.

I went to a conference with him as a presenter. I would put on by my local county school district and it cost $5. In addition to a great presentation we got our choice of book or video tape. (both happiest baby and toddler.) It was really interesting. They even had food.

It was the best $5 I ever spent. :cool1:

It did make me want to have another baby. It was pretty funny, there was a few fussy babies there, and the was just dying to get his hands on them. It worked too. He is a really nice guy, but a wee bit nerdy.

Ryan~ Happy b-day to Jack! I can't believe he is 1 already! That just kind of snuck up, didn't it?

We are staying at POR this time. Now that the shock over my grandmother has worn off some, and our trip is paid for in full, I am starting to get very excited! We will have to PM eachother closer to May and see if we can arrange to meet or something. I think we are going the week after you but I think our dates overlap by a day or 2. I know the 3rd day we are there we will probably be going to see my family but maybe something will work out before that. Didn't you say your mother would be going with you guys too?

Hi Moms-

We are in the process of selling our house and buying a new one, so I haven't hardly been able to even look at the DIS. I'm so tired, I could drop.

Cabmom- glad you are able to stay home awhile longer- I'm sure it's a struggle to be sick.

Hi Ryan! Happy Birthday to Jack~~~

Hi Tasha, Allison, Jen, Stephanie- :flower3: .

We go to Disney in about 3 weeks. I've hardly thought about it. Instead of being my usual turbo self, I foresee lots of pool time instead! Pool time and Pina Coladas!
