Alice- Good luck selling your house!

Tasha- I hope you enjoy your stay at POR!

ryan- Happy belated birthday to Jack Jack! Are you an aunt yet? Hope your ankle feels better soon.

TiggerStac- We never had to deal with colic, but I've heard that a product called Baby Bliss Gripe Water really works well.

GLT- It has been very nice here this week- in the high 70s and low 80s during the day with a light breeze. I wish it would stay like this forever.

cabmom- I hope you're feeling better.

nucpharm and Kim- Take it easy.

Hi to all other DIS moms (and Grandma Hermosa as well).

Have a great weekend!

I went to a conference with him as a presenter. I would put on by my local county school district and it cost $5. In addition to a great presentation we got our choice of book or video tape. (both happiest baby and toddler.) It was really interesting. They even had food.

It was the best $5 I ever spent. :cool1:

It did make me want to have another baby. It was pretty funny, there was a few fussy babies there, and the was just dying to get his hands on them. It worked too. He is a really nice guy, but a wee bit nerdy.

I got offline last night and read our local paper. They are having a conference on this at the hospital I had Brady. It did not say who was presenting, but it's 45.00....and it's not until late next month  I am going to get the book tonight, though...after hubby gets home from work.

THANK YOU!! to everyone who has offered support/suggestions...

Hey :) just joined this thread :) Had baby Brennan on 2/13

Hi moms, I'm an aunt! I got to be there to help SIL through it and she made it look so easy! She has severe anxiety disorder so she was her own worst enemy and she had a couple of panic attacks but managed to come through on top and she did so well. Now if we could only get her to listen to us about the father :rolleyes1 I won't even go there ;) Baby Trent Andrew is absolutely beautiful, he looked a lot like Alex did only with tons of dark black hair. Such a little peanut, he never makes a sound. OK, I gotta stop rambling now, I just can't believe how surreal it all was- and seeing him come out was just weird and at the same time amazing.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for Jack, he got a little ripped off because we spent the day at the hospital (his cousin missed his birthday by 2 hours, little stinker) and his party had to be postponed until next week. I don't think he minds though ;)

Robin- It's great to hear from you, good luck withthe house hunt. And have fun in Disney, I can't wait til our trip!!! Any spa trips lately?

Tasha- Yes, my mom and dad are coming with us this trip and I think I'm more excited about them seeing Disney than I am about going! They were there once, in 1976 for their honeymoon so needless to say much has changed. I hope we can arrange a meeting, even if it's just a quick hello.

J&D- How have you been? My ankle is just lovely, I'm quite proud of the fact that about 75% of my foot is various shades of purple, blue, yellow and green :rainbow: The swelling has gone down a bit (it was HUGE) and I can walk without pain, it just hurts to turn or twist it.

Welcome Syrreal, and CONGRATS!!!

Hi to all the other mommies, have a great night!

Ryan- congrats on becoming an Aunt! I hope your ankle heals quickly. I did get to the spa last month for a pedi. I have another one in 2 weeks. Those will have to taper off unless I get them as gifts once we're in the new home. It will be a hefty mortgage payment. We are going from 1300 square feet here to....................................3300 square feet. :rolleyes1

Syrreal- congratulations to you too.....welcome baby Brennan. :groom:

Hi to the other mommies- I'm going to take a shower and hit the sack.

Syrreal- Congratulations, and welcome to the new mom thread! Welcome to the world, Baby Brennan!

ryan- Congratulations on becoming an aunt. I'm fine. Thanks for asking. Hope your ankle feels better soon. Take it easy.

Hi, Alice and all other DIS moms!

Have a great week, everyone!

TTFN!

Hi moms! I just cannot keep up with working and 3 kids so I've been pretty MIA lately.

Ryan - Happy birthday to Jack! Congratulations on becoming an aunt. I can only dream of being an aunt some day. My brother's gf is an actress and has no desire for marriage and/or kids anytime soon.

tiggerstac - I really wish I had advice on colic. Some people swear by the Mylicon drops but it never worked for my daughter. She was my only baby with colic, thank goodness.

Syrreal - Congratulations and welcome!!

I'm glad to see all the moms are doing well :goodvibes

I talked to my pedi about it...we are going to kick the mylicon up a little bit. you can actually give w/each feeding, vs fussy times. W/my 1st we only gave it to him when he fussed (once in a blue moon). So we are starting to give it to him w/each feeding. They can have it up to 12 times a day. I did talk to him about another brand that I saw, can't think of the name, but much less expensive..he said no prob and told me what to look for on it..that symthocone (or however it's spelled). I am going to BJ's (a local wholesale club) tomorrow, so I'm going to check them out for price.

lglblonde - great pictures. How on Earth did you get a 7 month old to sit so great for all those pictures and outfit changes? I am very impressed!! Thanks for sharing.

Hi moms! :flower3:

Thanks!

I was so thankful he stayed in a good mood! I think they took his pictures for about 45 minutes and then it took a good 15-20 minutes to pick them out!

I narrowed it down to 8 poses! Whew!

Great pictures...

Love the light blue classic pooh outfit. I have it from DS#1, I can't wait for DS#2 to fit into it!!

Lglblonde- That picture is absolutely adorable!!! Too cute!

Brennan has been spitting up a whole lot since yesterday. Poor guy. The ped thinks it might be reflux (we're going in tomorrow to check). Anyone else's baby had this? What did you do?

My 1st DS had really bad reflux. He would spit up multiple times after each feeding. We put him on Zantac..which is fun to give to an infant. I believe he was about 8-10 weeks when we started that. He did outgrow it. Right around his 1st bday. Pedi said that a lot get better once they are sitting up on their own or by their first bday. At least DS got better, even though it was the later of the 2. They had those disposable pampers bibs for babies at the time, thank goodness, because he destroyed bibs and we would got thru tons a day. I had to leave a bib on him at all times. Now my 2nd doesn't have it at all...knock on wood.

Hi everyone, is there room for one more? I've been hanging out on the moms-to-be thread (I see a lot of familiar faces :wave2: ) and just delivered baby Alex via c-section on 2/15/07.

My hospital also offers a course called "The Happiest Baby on the Block." It is not taught by the book's author, but it is supposed to be very good. At our hospital you can even bring the baby with for the course. Our childbirth class instructor recommended it along with the book and DVD. I read the book, but luckily I haven't had to use it yet, b/c so far DS has been a very good baby.

Well, it isn't really reflux. We went to the ped today and they sent us to the hospital to get an ultrasound and an upper GI for him. The ultrasound didn't show anything so they had to do the upper GI. I cried almost the entire time! They put him in a thing to keep him from moving and he sucked down the barium drink (at least they didn't have to put a tube to him tummy). Turns out the muscle that is at the bottom of the stomach is spasming so it only lets small amounts of food pass through really slowly. So that makes him spit up more because the food has nowhere to go.
They are giving is medicine to see if it can relax teh muscle and help with the reflux caused by the non digesting food and we have to add a little bit of cereal to breastmilk bottles to add some weight to the milk and see if that helps. Hopefully it will.

Awww, that's so scary! I would have been crying for sure. I hope the cereal helps little Brennan.

Alex's stump still hasn't fallen off, and I noticed some blood on his clothes last night and this morning, so I called the pediatrician, and they told me I need to bring him in for silver nitrate. Has anyone else dealt with this before? What does the procedure entail? Will he cry? Will I cry?

Russ's stump fell off really early (never bled) and the ped did the silver nitrate thing at his two-week appointment, I think. It was a quick cotton swab type thing - he didn't cry, as I recall. It was kind of gross looking, though - it cauterizes the wound, I think she told me. His belly button was brown and yucky looking for a while, over a year. The ped told me not to pick at the brown stuff and that eventually it would all wear away. (Which it has.)

I had to have silver nitrate done to my belly button not long after I got pregnant. I had a cyst or something in there...forget what they said it was, but I had to have it done twice. It doesn't hurt one bit, they just put the swab on the area...it will turn the area black, but it does go away. Mine took a few weeks. It spread about 1 1/2 inches around my belly button...but it did go away!!
