*** The Official July 2014 thread, join us won't you? ***

Anyone thinking of doing Harambe Nights? I have GF IPO trying to rework our plans to make it happen! Looks so fun and I think DD will LOVE all of it! She loved the FofLK last time we saw it. Hoping for some Pixie Dust!pixiedust:

I hadn't heard of it yet, but went and looked it up after I saw your post. It looks really cool, and would totally fit our group of adults (especially since my mom LOVES the shopping and food at AK,) but its pretty expensive. We'll have to check the budget! We chose not to do the dessert party so we could try something new, so maybe this is our something new :)

I'm glad your mom is doing well and coming home tomorrow! We live close to my parents too...4 blocks away! My sister lives across the street from them. We see each other every day.

I would also love to drive across country. DH and I have summers off so we have the time, it's just that it's so expensive with hotels and food and gas. So next summer we will fly to California.

Legoland is great! 12pm shouldn't be too bad because the park doesn't open until 10. It's busy, but not like WDW parks are. You will enjoy it and your DD is the perfect age for it!

I laughed when I read this, I'm not sure why I put "DD". Jacob is definitely a DS lol.

But thank you about my mom! We're very happy she's home. It's actually funny because as adults we all ended up in the same neighborhood. My brother bought a house around the corner, and my sister is moving back from Chicago this summer and is also looking in our neighborhood. It's nice to have everyone close.

Hi everyone! Today is my little guy's birthday. He's 7 years old today! I can't believe how quickly 7 years have passed. I feel like I blinked, like he was just a tiny little baby. I went to his class today for his class party. It was so much fun. First graders are very cute! We had cupcakes, and DS9 came to the party as well. The festivities continue tonight with his requested birthday dinner...tortellini with garlic and oil. So simple, I know! And chocolate cake for dessert, his favorite. He wanted a Star Wars decoration on his cake. I found a Darth Vader candle at Party City! I can't wait to give him his gifts. We got him the DVD of "Frozen" and the Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon that he has wanted. My parents bought him an iPod, which they will give him at his family party on Saturday. We got him an App Store gift card to go with it, but we will give that to him on Saturday so it makes sense, haha! :)

And the festivities continue throughout the next week and a half...tomorrow my niece turns 13. The family party on Saturday is for her and DS combined. Monday is my brother-in-law's birthday and Tuesday is DH's. We are going out with the family on Sunday to celebrate, to a really great Greek restaurant we all love. And then of course the following Sunday is Mother's Day...we call this May Madness in our family! ;)

Happy birthday to your son! I hope he has a blast!!

Happy birthday to your DS :) Sounds like our house this time of year. DD turned 6 on the 17th so we had a party with her friends on the 6th (Frozen themed of course - with pin the nose on Olaf even!) then I baked for her birthday treat at school, then we had Easter and this past Sunday was the big family combined party for her and DS - who turns 4 on Saturday! Frozen themed again complete with Elsa's ice castle cake for DD and DS shocked and went for a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cake but that was just as fun to make. And to add to it DH and I celebrated 8 years on the 29th :) Now I can sit back and focus on FPP for the 14th - and then all the dance shows and recitals for DD and my 2 nieces start so that will help the few weeks after that fly by!

Wow, you have a lot going on too! Happy anniversary and happy birthday to your kids also!

DS9 sings (private voice lessons once a week) and he is in a concert in June, which falls on my birthday this year...best birthday present ever!!! So he has also been in extra rehearsals on some weekends. June is busy for us as well, with my birthday, my father's birthday and Father's Day...not to mention my niece graduates elementary school this year. We have a graduation every year for the next several years...my niece this year, her older sister from 8th grade next year, my son the year after from elementary, my niece from 8th grade the next year, my little one from elementary the year after that, my big one from 8th grade the next, etc. ;)

It should always be good things like these that keep us busy...it gets hectic at times but I love every second of it! :)

Thank you! My son had a great day. Tomorrow we are taking him out for dinner...he chose a local Chinese restaurant that we like. Then we look forward to the family coming over on Saturday.

I also love it that my family is so close and lives in the same neighborhood where I grew up. My boys and my niece go to the same elementary school I went to, and my other niece goes to my old middle school. It's very nostalgic walking into my old school!

:cake: Happy birthday (a day late) to your DS and to your niece. Enjoy your celebration this weekend. Meantime, the countdown continues. It's nice when you have crazy months in the run up to a trip. It makes you less focused on the waiting time :)

Thank you! Being so busy in May and June makes the time before the trip go by much faster, plus this is busy crunch time at work, until classes end in the middle of June and we begin Regents week (state exams in all subject areas). Next week is our musical and I do the hair and makeup for those shows...the following week I audition students to be top leadership in the student-run musical production that I'm in charge of...for next year's show so we could put everything in place before we leave for the summer, like choosing the script writers and setting everything up for Freshman Orientation in August.

May Madness is right. Happy Birthday to all:cheer2:

Thank you! As crazy as it is, the fact that they're all good things always makes us happy...life should always be this good! :)

Hi all,

Wow, this is a long thread, lol.

My family is going to WDW and staying at the Polynesian July 4th-12th 2014. This is the only time we could all go this year, and I'm a little nervous about the crowd situation over July 4th week.

We will have fun regardless! :)

We will be at WL 7/5-7/11. I'm hoping that except for the actual 4th, the crowds won't be any worse than usual summer crowds. :-)

Can I join the fun?

We are heading to OKW 7/27-8/3 for our first trip with the kids (boys ages 8 & 5). We haven't been to the parks since 2005 and are feeling overwhelmed with all the FP+ changes!

:welcome: to our 2 newest hot weather Disney families!!! Glad to have you on board. Yes the crowds will be summer crowds and all the FP+ changes could drive you nuts, but ask your questions and we will help as best we can and if we can't we might be able to point you in the right direction. I will add you both to the front page and go from there!!!

So we have some changes to our touring plan because of the Harambe Nights Party that was announced! These are our evening modifications. Super excited we were able to keep the two and add in the AK party. Just took a little luck and some pixiedust:

July 16 - Hollywood Studios night with Fantasmic Dining at Hollywood Brown Derby
July 18th - Epcot with Illuminations Sparking Dessert Party
July 19th - Animal Kingdom with Harambe Nights Party

Is it July yet????

Hi

Yay, you'll be there at the same time as my family!! I'm sure you're going to have an awesome time, don't be too stressed, take your plans at a step at a time.

Now we have the exact same dates!!

I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks of the Harambe party. It looks soooo fun but it's not in the budget this trip so I will just have to live through all of you!
