So excited just booked breakfast for Kona Cafe for our last day at Disney..thought it would be a nice way to end the trip and it's the only breakfast we are doing while there

This thread is so refreshing compared to the strategies and resorts boards. The negativity is such a downer between complaints of FP+, SDMT opening and Polynesian renovation. I know we all have to reevaluate plans but here it seems more constructive. Thanks for being a happy spot to go to!

Despite the 4th FP+ opportunity, we are sticking with the original plan of getting FP+ for the park we hop to in the late afternoon/ evening. When I picked our FP+ options earlier this week it took me about 45 minutes to do it for our family of five for 10 days. A few times I had to go with the best option it gave me for the 3 FP+s and then go in and change one time for one ride. (Hope that makes sense.)

The day to book our FP+s was a busy one for me so I stayed up the night before and it opened for me at 11pm my time. I had lots of options for the 4th of July week and I was able to secure an Anna &Elsa FP. On Friday I went back and changed a couple of FP+ for the SDMT ride.

I would recommend doing it on your laptop/desktop if possible. It was a lot easier than doing the app.

I keep seeing all of the "Why I'm not coming back" and "FP+ is awful!" threads, and I refuse to open any of them. I understand that for people who have been going for years this is a big change and they don't like it. But personally I like the idea of FP+ and I'm really looking forward to it! So I don't read any of the negative threads like that because I don't want anyone to bring my mood or expectations down lol. Yes I'm still a little stressed because it's a LOT to take in and try to plan, but I'm "happy stressed" if that makes any sense lol.

We decided to bite the bullet and rent a car for the trip, even though we're going to be onsite. We ended up with a full-size from Budget through Costco for about $215. I've pricelined our past couple rentals but have had absolutely no luck so far. Is it just the summer crowds that are driving up the prices? I've booked my share of travel, but I'm feeling like a fish out of water with this trip.

We priced car rentals for this summer too, we were going to try and get a gas friendly SUV for driving to Disney. DH's truck is a gas guzzler and we were comparing prices of renting vs paying for gas in his truck. We have several places around here to rent from so I figured it wouldn't be too over the top, but I was WAY wrong. If we rented something like right now we would be better off renting, or at least break even. But in July it's a HUGE price difference, I guess because it's a busy time of year. But since my car won't fit all 5 of us comfortably for that long of a ride, we're taking the truck..... We were hoping to not put the miles on our vehicles, but oh well.

I would LOVE to get to hang out at that pool lol. DS8 saw it in one of the Disney World shows on tv and loved it too. I hated to break the news to him that the pool at our hotel was not quite that cool lol.

Yes, that makes perfect sense...happy stressed is exactly how I'd describe it too. Sure it's a little stressful learning the new system, but by doing all of this work beforehand, we will have less stress when we are actually on vacation. I'm not a person who can just wing it at WDW. I always felt that going in with a good plan and making the effort to do the work before we go makes my vacation more of a vacation. We also go with the attitude that no matter what we do, we will be at WDW and so we will have fun. If we miss something so be it...but I must say that this time we will go to Hall of Presidents. Been trying to do that since our 2008 trip and it just never happened...we were too tired and left for a break, or one of the boys was asleep in the double stroller back in those days. But the boys are really into the presidents because of learning about them in school, so they really want to see Hall of Presidents. I haven't seen it since 1989 when I was 12! So I booked Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch and we will see it right after.

We are all just so excited to be going back!

I'm a completely OCD 360 days in advance planner, but DH and I just had to scratch our WDW itch...we decided 2 days ago to book a trip for July. It took me 24 solid hours of no rest to get all our days planned and ADRs booked but it's done! It can't get here quick enough!

I did! Although I didn't do them for every day yet. Still playing with some dates and parks...

If i do change a day and decide to do a different park that day, how do I change the FPs? Is there a way to just delete that day's worth and start over? Haven't played with it much...

Yes - you can go in and cancel all FPs you have booked and start over for an entire day. It's not too hard to do. I find it much easier to do on my computer than on the app but that's just me.

So when we get there we know where we are going and what we are doing/riding. My family was a "winging it" kind of family. I actually think this year we will get more accomplished! 61 days and we will be home & my little happy place! We only got ADR's for 2 places 7/7 Sci-fi and 7/9 Rainforest @ AK. We will go to TRex but we'll just wait til that night. I am hoping to get a FP for BOG Lunch towards the end of our trip. My DD will have her BBB on 7/14 DT. So she could be a "princess" for BOG lunch.

If you have more than one MK day, try get it for the second one and start with A&E then go back and do your other FP's. The usual headliners were no problem and I had no problem on Sunday going back to mine 2 weeks after I booked them and changing a few of my days around.

My DD said (in her most dramatic voice) that her trip will be ruined if she doesn't meet them (A&E) - - (she just turned 6) I told her I would do my best but no matter what she would see them in the parade. I have two girls who are very much looking forward to A&E being part of their trip as well. I will be up at midnight next Friday to hopefully snag the fastpasses! We have 3 MK days so whatever we can get will work just fine. Good luck!

That's what I was thinking too. We were looking at our 7th day for A&E.
