A lot of people tell me we're crazy for going in the summer, and also for driving from New York. We enjoy the drive, taking our time getting there (we stay over two nights along the way). Of course we used to use the DVD player for the kids in the car, but since discovering that my almost 7-y.o. gets car sick, we can no longer do that. So we shall see how the drive goes this time. I think it will be fine though!

Yes, it's hot. But I'd rather tour a hot theme park than a cold one...I've known people who have gone during Christmas break or presidents week in February and toured the parks in 30-degree weather...I would not like that at all! I'll take heat over that.

Yes, it's crowded. But still not as crowded as Christmas week! I think that as teachers, and as parents with school age children, going in the summer is the least crowded time possible for us. Maybe I'm just being ignorant, but I really do think that's the case, that the crowds are more staggered in the summer than the other school breaks.

You have a very nice long stay!! That is awesome! We love Boardwalk Villas...it's our DVC home resort and it's beautiful there.

We have almost the same dates, I'll be at Pop July 5-13. I am in college and have a younger sister and we are both obsessed with Frozen! I am jealous you guys will be at POR, we stayed there in November in a Royal Room and I loved it so much!

We are at WL July 5-11 right now. Subject to change a bit. ;-)

We usually go in August every year! :-) it's hot and humid at home too, so why not spend it at Disney!

That's right! One time we were at WDW on a July trip, and it was hotter in NY than it was there...we actually escaped a bad NY heat wave by being in Florida! It was in the upper 90s here in NY that time, with a heat index over 100. No thanks, I'd rather be at a disney park!

When I was a kid, we went to WDW twice, both times in the month of August. It was hot and humid but so much fun...so many great memories from those trips. And of course we got caught in the rain at MK...I always do, happens every trip at least once! I know that if we don't get caught in a rain storm on the first MK day, it is sure to happen on the second day we are there! ;)

When are you going? I want to make sure if we overlap we don't have the same MK days. :)

And, yes, when we go in July the weather is usually equal to or even hotter at home in PA than in Disney. So, like you said... why not be at Disney?

Woohoo!! We will have to plan a meet up of some kind. Once we get FP+ settled we'll all figure something out!

Hahaha! Our MK days are July 24th and July 29th...trust me, it will rain one of those days, usually some time after we eat lunch. But my prediction is that it will rain on the 29th when we are on our way to BOG for dinner, returning to the park from an afternoon break. Oh my, that happened once on the way to CRT dinner. We were soaked even with ponchos because it was so windy that the ponchos just kept blowing all over the place. But I held onto my hood and my hair didn't get very wet...just frizzy from the humidity as usual. And to think I even attempted to go back to MK with freshly washed hair NOT pulled up into a ponytail. ;)

Our photos with Cinderella were very interesting with wet shorts, to say the least!

Joining in the fun!

We are doing a split stay, July 27 at VWL and then POFQ July 30, check out Aug 4. This is part of a B-I-G theme park summer experience. We are starting at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, then Myrtle Beach, Busch Gardens Tampa, WDW, Legoland and Sea World. Whew!!

My oldest turns 9 this summer so this is our last chance to still pay kids prices ... We are going to have a blast!!

I'm not sure if any of you use Zulily or not. Today they have a special Frozen merchandise section. It is definitely selling out fast, but I still saw some cute T-shirts. They have children and women's sizes. Feel free to check it out or ignore me. :)

Hi! I remember you from a previous July thread!!

Sounds like a wonderful vacation you have planned. We did something similar in 2012. We had season passes for sesame place, so we got the highest level pass and it included Busch gardens and sea world. We went to Busch gardens Tampa (loved it there), sea world orlando, and we were supposed to go to Busch gardens Williamsburg on the way home but my little one was sick so we had to cut the trip short by one day. We also went to Legoland on that trip as well as WDW of course. It was so much fun! :)

Okay, Phew, we are there a month before you end of june/beginning of July. Lol. Of course, on our last trip, DHS was a total wash out. We went into to One Man's Dream.... we couldn't figure out why all of the sudden it got crowded, until someone opened a side door and it was pouring!!!

So, most rain showers in Fl are quick, with one main exception... if the rain is part of a tropical storm. Yep, rained the rest of the day, and on a couple of other days is rained for hours at a time too. So much for the "quick" downpours at Disney. :)

Count us in too! Just booked for July 24-27 at Pop!:cool1:

Hi Bonnie! Yes, I remember you as well. I was part of the July 2012 thread when I did a Mommy-daughter trip. It was terrific!

Yes, we live near Williamsburg so last year we purchased the 2 year Premium pass to Busch/SW/SP and water parks. We used it already at Williamsburg and Water Country USA several times last year and then went to SW during XMas and are excited to add Aquatica and Tampa this summer. Trying to get our money's worth while we can!!

I'm adding Legoland b/c my girls will be 5 and 9 and I think that's the perfect ages for LL. However, my oldest does all the wild roller coasters and has already declared she will be bored on LL's ... so it's mostly for the 5yo, since she is tall enough to ride everything at LL.

What would be your top 3 tips for LL and BG Tampa? Did you do BG's water park or SW's Aquatica? Those are all new to us and with July's heat we are really looking forward to the WP.

thank you!!

Our Disney plans are to mostly go to the Water parks and Disney Quest. We are still on the Premium DVC Annual pass (this is trip #2 of 3 on the AP) so going to take advantage of the water parks in summer.

Prob go to a WP in the late morning and then to another park that night. We are doing the mega-theme park thing this trip but our Disney portion will actually be the "relaxed" part of the stay for a change.

Kids want to explore the resorts and go to water parks this trip. Of course we'll FP+ the big rides. So FP+ will actually work out really well for us since we probably won't hit the 4 parks until evening, but now we will have FP waiting for us.

I am getting very excited now! I just went on to customize my magic bands and of course I had to call the help desk. The CM that I spoke to was so very helpful. We all got the colors that we wanted and they are all different. She said they will have our individual name on them and this will make a great souvenir! As I was working on this I realized that we are at 79 days!!! Which also means that we are only 19 days out from making our FastPass + ressies. I can't even believe it is that close. OMG!!!

is there a facebook group for july 14? We were part of Dec 2013, and now May 2014 (9th-12th).. and im starting to plan another trip for July 20-25 2014 ;) :) :) :)
