What are people's thoughts on the purchasing the Photopass CD ahead of time. Is it worth it?

I think it's worth it. We didn't get it last time and I ended up paying about $40 for the 4 4x6's I ordered. Plus shipping. I think it's sounds like a way better deal to just pay for it and have all the pictures you want and can print off for pennies somewhere. And if you can do a share, even better!

We are going 1/1-1/5 and have Disney Visa but haven't gotten any info about any deals. We just miss the free dining by one day and am dying to get any discounts!! Any help would be appreciated.

Check out the Budget Board - if nothing else, get the Target RedCard and start buying up those Disney gift cards (with the 5% Target discount) - you can use 'em to pay for hotel, food, souvenirs, everything! We'll save about $70 doing this...I figure every bit helps.

Happy dance again...today is the 100-day mark, which means tomorrow, after 2 1/2 years of waiting, we'll be in DOUBLE DIGITS!!!!! :goodvibes

Our trip is similar to "Ormonster", who posted recently - 4 days at WDW and 1 at Universal. First trip, too! I'm marking milestone days like this by giving my mom trading pins for her lanyard so tomorrow I get to give her another pin for the countdown!

(Also happy dancing with congratulations to my sister and her husband - my brand-new fraternal twin nieces were born Tuesday 10/15...hooray for Elizabeth and Claire! Auntie can hardly wait until you're big enough to take to Disney! ;) )

I know this is off topic but this thread seems to have a lot of experts on discount history. Do you have any idea of typical discounts for May? We will have APs by then and also we have a Disney VISA. We are looking at a one night at AOA LM.

I was planning on doing this...I wondered if the Photopass + was worth it. I'm not sure how many ride photos my 4 and 6 year old will be doing. We have a Tusker House and Chef Mickey breakfast - do they take pictures at those?

Got the red card so will start! Thanks!

First off I would get the photo pass + card. My one regret from our last trip. Apparently you can get pictures from your ADR on then instead of forking out 30 at each spot. (Make sure u check for sure cause I was told that but haven't verified it myself) but also rides that you may not think your kids will go on can also be put on them. I was surprised if my kids were tall enough they went and my 5 year old went on Mount Everest etc and I wish I had pictures cause she loved it. My ten year old could go on every ride and she did except ToT (because I chickened out lol). My 8 yr old wasn't as brave and my 2 yr old wasn't big enough but will be next time. Photo pass is so worth it.

I know someone posted about this already, but I couldn't find it or any answers. today is 79 days before our trip. I got on my Disney experience and it finally says "personalize magic bands"! I was so excited! but when I click on them, the only color option is gray. do I have to wait until 60 days out to pick a color for each of us? I really don't want to all have the same color--I can imagine the confusion, and fighting between the kids about whose is whose. has anyone else had this? did different colors just show up eventually?

I knew that in January things would be closed for refurbishments but I guess I didn't realize how many things it would be! Could we start a list of attractions that will be closed during most of the month? This would really help with my planning! Thanks!!

AK - Festival of the Lion King - last show on or around Jan. 5th
MK - Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade - last parade on or about Jan. 4th

Splash Mountain and Casey's Corner I see are closed during January. This link has a listing: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/rehab.htm

Last January Splash mountain was closed. I guess that might be an annual thing? DD20 was disappointed to hear that since otherwise we loved going that time of year. She said we might have to rethink things next year since she's not missing her favorite ride THREE years in a row! Lol. I told her as long as mom & dad are paying, smile and say thank you. Lololololol

The list would be good if they are officially confirmed by WDW. Lots of speculations and rumors swirling about different attractions being closed and everyone gets all worked up, but until they are listed on WDW site they are not official. For example, Lion King is not listed on Disney site, this is a specualtion that came from who-knows-where. So, until it's confirmed by Disney I don't think it should be posted. Just my humble opinion. ;)

Hi!
We are going to jump on this page too. We have made reservations for 1/23-28th, staying at the CBR. It will be my 9 & 6 year old sons and I.

This is the first I've heard about FotLK closing in early January. Where is your source? It's not on any of the official rehab lists. Like this one: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/rehab.htm (which, by the way, is what you're looking for).

I really don't understand why splash mountain is closed for that long again. Does anybody know why?

I just thought that we could as a group keep each other informed of things we hear... I know that there is a refurb list on the site but I feel like it would be nice for us to just share with each other on this thread... more of a friendly thing than an official thing... I read on multiple sites that the FOLK was closing for a time while they move into the new theater and was just saddened about it. There no real "source" to speak of. I apologize for getting anyone upset by it. I was just looking to this thread as a source of support regarding our trip in January... not to cause controversy. Sorry for that.

I don't know if it happens every year or not, but I know someone who goes to Disney OFTEN, and he said that splash is closed a lot in January for regular maintenance. he said they close it then because the crowds are smaller at that time of year so it's a better time for it to be closed. i'm pretty sure it just opened from a major refurb though, so I don't know why it would need to be closed again? :confused3 i'm hoping that when we get to make our FP choices it will be more accurate and I can plan our days better. with the magic bands and the FP+, I feel like so many things are up in the air. it sort of bothers the part of me that wants to plan, plan, plan!
