The Official GLEE thread

I wasn't sure if I should post the names or not, didnt want to spoil things. But since it was ok, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jeff Goldblum!!!

Jeff goldblum will definitely be interesting, he has a very wide range of talents. I'm not familiar with the other actor mentioned--I don't see much stage stuff.

I have to say, Becky was my favorite in this episode. I think she's just adorable, she always makes me smile.

I laughed my way through this episode (at least the first half). Summer Lovin' was great... even having Sam in the leather jacket and Santana playing "Rizzo", including kicking the girls off the bench. Also using the mixture of both at the end of the song like it was in the movie.

Becky's voice over was hilarious. I agree with PP who said Sue was "better" in this episode. I do think it was out of character for what she's portrayed in the past, but I liked this "Sue" better.

A few things I didn't understand though... this ep was set in January 2012 (Cooter & Bieste eloped on Christmas, Sue mentions it being 2012). Would Mercedes & Sam still be talking about a summer fling?

Also, didn't Sam play on the football team? Wouldn't he have a letter jacket from that?

Loved this episode!
As soon as the girls walked up and sat down at the table I was shouting "Grease! they're doing Grease"
As for Sam and Mercedes summer fling thing it's because Sam didn't come back to school in the Fall he just came back so it's the first time they've been together.

You're right he should have a Letter Jacket from Football, guess they thought we'd forget.

And I did like this Sue, it's nice when she's sweet to Becky.

My dd thought Sam might have sold his letter jacket last year, when he sold all his other stuff, when his dad lost his job. I agree that they are still talking about the summer fling, since he just came back right before christmas.

I saw Brian Stokes Mitchell narrate the Candlelight Processional ay Epcot in 2010.

I feel as if they mentioned in a past episode that he sold his jacket, so maybe that's why your daughter said that.

I loved the episode, it had me laughing the whole time. My heart broke for Finn and his mom when she told him about his dad. I wasn't a huge fan of Moves Like Jagger/ Jumpin' Jack Flash, just pretty meh. Mr. Shue asking Finn to be his best man seemed kind of odd to me. I get that they've formed this great relationship, but it just seemed weird. I also found Sue's comment about Becky's body extremely weird. However, I loved the whole Artie/Becky story, I thought it was well done. I was tearing up when Becky was crying to Sue. As for Shue's proposal, I thought the swim routine was super cute, but I found the Tux at the end completely random and unnecessary. It was all really cute. At the very end I thought Finn was going to give Rachel a promise ring and then he proposed to her and I kind of rolled my eyes. I'm a huge Glee fan and knowing the characters I was excited. But thinking about a real life couple in high school, that have been dating off and on, makes me roll my eyes a little.

Overall, a very cute and fun episode. :goodvibes

If you are old enough to remember the show Trapper John MD, thats the show I remember him from! Wow, I feel old!

I do! And a bit more recently he was Hilary's boyfriend who died in the bungee jumping accident on Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

He has a beautiful voice. I think he has been nominated for a Tony 3 times.

I, too, loved Becky's "inner Queen" ~ darling. My favorite were Sue & Coach Bieste in their bridesmaids dresses...sweet! Of course, that was the beginning...I enjoyed the first half more than the second.

The hats from the Royal Wedding were the best:rotfl:

I was cracking up at the bridesmaids hats. So then DH asked me what was so funny and I tried to explain about the Royal Wedding and the Princesses's hats.

It isn't quite as funny when you have to explain it.

What did everyone think of tonight's Michael Jackson episode? I was a little disappointed with most of the song choices... :(

i just love Glee.........

any songs they did tonight was good for me.

i know they shorten most of the songs but it still was fine.

Yeah...I think I was just expecting some of his better known/more upbeat type of songs. I really enjoyed a few of them... but some I felt were just eh. I  Glee though!

I agree. And the whole Bad thing in the parking garage was just stupid! I enjoyed the performance, but the concept was dumb. I kinda thought the whole episode was a lot of filler just so they could sing MJ.
I still enjoyed it, but I didn't love it. But I do love anytime Harry Shum gets to sing!!!!!!!!!
And that Sebastian guy needs to go away, right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would have really liked to hear The Way You Make Me Feel.

I just loved this episode, probably one of my favorites. I loved the take on some of MJ's songs, especially Smooth Criminal with the dueling cellos and Black or White with them copying the morphing at the end. There was one song I was no familiar with - Scream. Was that from the concert MJ was preparing for before he died?

And Burt Hummel? When I grew up, my father models were Steven Douglas, Jim Anderson, Ward Cleaver, Ben Cartwright, Ozzie Nelson. Now I just hope that I was as good a father as Burth Hummel is.

Burt Hummel, is hands down my favorite character!!! And he makes me cry every time he is on (although I don't like they way he keeps telling Finn he should run his shop, like Finn isn't capable of doing anything else).

2Cellos is the BEST! They are the ones who created the rendition of the song a while ago. Check out their website. I bought the album off of iTunes eons ago and it is fabulous. They are so talented. So glad more people will discover them because of Glee.

"Scream" was a single MJ released in 1995, it's a duet with Janet and the music video (which was what Artie and Mike Chang performed) is listed at the most expensive music video ever. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scream/Childhood)

I'm not an MJ fan but I still loved the music in the episode. I didn't see the Blaine storyline coming at all, I haven't liked Sebatian from the beginning but now....oh I so would have had Santana's back on going all "Lima Heights" on his butt. I think my favorite was Smooth Criminal, if you guys aren't familiar the guys playing the cellos are on Youtube, they do some amazing covers on cello and piano. http://youtu.be/rR94NDIfGmA
