The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

Getting a little sad here.... was sooooooo excited last night when the little red box appeared.... after reading all the posts about those that called
Disney Visa, its not looking as good :sad2: for me.... My dates fall into the dates but not sure if we can swing an extra night.... so hoping the general public release (since I don't have a Disney Visa) sticks with the 3-4 Night minimum:sad1:

Anyone else think that the "5 night minimum at Value Resort" is not really the requirement but the ad copy of what the announcement will say??? I really hope so as we are going for 4 nights and were hoping for a Mod or Deluxe as we are a family of 5.
I know when I see Disney ads in our newspaper, they usually give an exact number of days and the price at a Value, but usually other options are available when you call to book.
Any thoughts??? I need hope!
Jill

I sure hope so because I want a mod! I guess we'll find out for sure on Monday.

Question to those who had the Disney Visa last year, but had a reservation already through AAA...can I ask my AAA TA to change my current reservation to the free dining on Monday? She should have gotten/will get that info right?? I did put my original deposit on my Disney Visa.

there was some leaked memo before that listed the price at a 5night/6day package.. I would be willing to bet that is the exact memo they have, and are just using that as the minumum. it seems like a large jump from 3day min to 5day min... It doesnt effect me as I am going for 9nights.... just some hope for you short trip people

Just called Disney Visa and got a very talkative employee!!!!! They received an e-mail yesterday that she read to me word for word....Disney Visa holders will receive an e-mail on Monday, 4/9 - that's when we can start booking the free dining package. Minimum 5 nights at "select resorts". MONDAY IS THE DAY FOR DISNEY VISA HOLDERS!!!!!!!

That is great, I just up~dated my email on their site just in case they didn't have it;)

That's what I'm wondering too. I didn't use AAA but I did use a TA. He's going to get sick of hearing from me. :lmao:

I also had the questions about the only Values?? Last year we received the Free Dining with a Deluxe. DO you think it will be a set number of rooms for all like in the past?

I too called Disney VIsa...had to hear it for myself!!!! I had a very friendly lady who gave me all the same details that everyone else has gotten with the added "I can give you the phone number and code you will need in case you don't get the email".....she gave me the normal 407-939-1286 and the CODE IS ZHQ STARTING MONDAY. Happy Booking.

FREAKING AWSOME:cool1:

I really wanted to go in Nov. but, I can't pass this deal up. Ds turned 3 9/8 so we will be going before then to avoid the extra plane ticket. So.....

8/31-9/7 it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure what airline you are flying and what their policies are, but usually a child has to have a plane ticket once they reach the age of two. You might want to look into that.

I'm guessing we can, because I know last year when it went to the general public she was able to, but this year I'm a Disney Visa holder :yay:, so I'm not sure how that works. I also know, that last year I had to tell her about the free dining, Disney had not contacted them yet. :headache:

I just emailed her & gave her the info I had (see the code is posted now too!!), and hopefully if she didn't already know, she'll find out for me! Have you contacted your TA yet??

I couldn't wait! :hyper: I called and booked our suprise birthday :cake: trip for me and my olderst daughter! We both have September birthdays, and we are going to celebrate! party: :bday: party:

I booked our trip with the DDP. I will call early Monday morning and add the code for the free dining. I've already booked my ADRs! Is it September yet? :dance3:

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Woo hooo, I love codes!!!

Now I just have to wait for SW to open up my dates!!!! Come on Ding!!!!

Why do we need to link ADR's to the room ressies? Is that the only way they can credit the DDP?
No, ADRs are not linked to your room reservation anyway, just listed under your phone number, though they do normally ask where you're staying and when you're checking in. I've changed reservations before without telling them and it makes no difference. The only reason you would need to call them at all is if you booked any ADRs that you prepaid for (Hoop De Doo, Cinderella's, Spirit of Aloha) because you did not have DDP and you would like to be credited now that you do/will have DDP.

I booked all my ADRs based on my 'potential' dates if free dining was released. I said I'd be at POFQ with the dining plan. There were no questions asked by any of the 4 or 5 CMs I spoke with as far as an actual reservation number goes. They asked check in date, resort, name and phone number. I don't have a reservation for those dates, so they couldn't have actually been pulling up my reservation. KWIM? It didn't matter that I don't have one yet.

Does anyone know how many rooms I can book w/the Dis. VISA? I need to book 3, but don'tknow if that;s allowed.

Wait a SEC, can I use that code on Monday even if I don't have a Disney Visa? :confused3 I wonder if it will work?

:rotfl: :confused3 Hi,

I would like to plan a trip to take my 2 1/2 yr old (who has previously only been on 2 Disney Cruises) and new sibling (who would be 4 months) in mid September. I have never booked a land based Disney vacation, so any help on location, prices (we would prefer to do it fairly inexpensively i.e. value or maybe mod - do you need preferred view??) and how to do the tickets (purchase one for each day or take a day off etc) would be greatly appreciated. We are looking at the 9/15 - 9/21 timeframe so the free dining would really be a plus I guess as it is one less thing to budget/worry about. Any ideas of what to plan to spend etc would be great, it looks like a minimum of $800 or so for the room..we are not sure of driving or flying yet with the new baby and having family in the south GA (near Jacksonville area).

Thanks so much for any help -cruises were really easy :rotfl:

Just checked, still a blank page! Great Inspector work PP, you guys rock!! Off the the Disney Visa Site, fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2
