The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

I am wondering the same thing, beachgrl001. DH's email receives confirmation after payments, but that is all he gets. He didn't get the free dining offer by email last year. I had to tell him all about it when I read it here on DIS. (We did go!) I have asked him EVERY DAY now for the last few days if he has gotten any email from Disney Visa people, and he hasn't. I will ask him to stay on top of it Monday.
I am assuming that if we don't get an email that we can just call Disney Visa on Monday. Right???

last year we didn't call disney visa. we called cro, but there was a special booking code offered by the disney visa. Once the cm put the code in you could book, but HAD to pay the $200 desposit on your disney visa. (However you didn't have to pay the balance on the disney visa--I used my reward points.)

It's coming ....... This is showing up on Disney's travel page.......

When I click on the red box from your posted link, I get a blank screen. Did anything come up for you when you clicked on the red box to learn more????

Does anyone know if we can book a package with a stay beginning on 9/22 and have the free dining extended for the entire stay? I keep reading that you have to check in before 9/22 and I would really like to do a Saturday-Saturday. Please let me know if anyone was able to book last year for the last day of the offer. Thanks!

Yes, we called CRO last year. Somehow we could get it last year through them during the Disney Visa offer. I can't remember how that worked though. We, too, paid the deposit on our Visa but paid off the trip with our rewards. We don't have enough rewards to do that this year. We can get a good discount, though. :)

What a night to go to bed early:laughing: . After catching up on the eight pages it looks like I can happy dance now :dance3: :woohoo: :cheer2: .

I have my ADR's already but I don't have a disney visa so I'll have to find some way to wait a week :hourglass . This is going to be a very long week:scared: .

Yes, but only the deposit. I put the $200 deposit on my card, then went on line later and paid the balance with my disney reward points.

I just talked to visa and they said that I had to book the entire trip on the card! I hope that he was wrong. I will have to call on monday.

Ok. . .so just to make sure I have this correct. IN THEORY- On Monday, I can call CRO and book free dining, paying the deposit with my Disney Visa- it doesn't matter if I get an email with the code or not, correct?

Thanks in advance!

It's official ........ Here is the low down.....

All this from Visa -they got this email today Dining will be offered:

The announcemnet was released to the Visa card employees today!!!! It is for the dates b/n 8/26/07 & 9/22/07. It has been officially announced to Visa holders. YES!!!!

And:

Just off the phone with Disney Visa
Here's what I was told:
Offer is valid for Disney Visa holders Starting Monday, 4/9 THRU an EMAIL LINK that will be good until 6/24. (bookings must be made 4/9-6/24)

This is For visits 8/26 thru 9/22 FREE DINING ADD ON
It must be a minimum 5 night stay at Value resort (though when I asked about moderates she thought it was likely)
AND it must have atleast a one day MYW base ticket.
Also offering 6 mos 0% interest for bookings!

This offer will go out to the general public on 4/12.

The woman I spoke with was reading off a computer screen and appeared to be VERY knowledgable for what thats worth!

1) In the past you could have the free ddp for as long as your stay (think there was a 10 night maximum) as long as your first night fell before the end of the program.

2) I don't believe you can ever book a disney trip through disney visa, by website or phone, I think they just offer discount codes and you apply them through Disney's reservation system.

3) I have my ADRs already made, without a hotel ressie. They just use your phone number as an i.d. #. WHen you make hotel ressies, ask them if they can link them. If not, call dining back, and ask them to add your hotel info to your ADRs. Do not let them tell you that you have to rebook your ADRs.

4) In the past when they advertise 5 night, 6 days at a value, there has always only been a 3 night minimum, a 1 day ticket minimum, and you could also book at moderates and deluxes as available.
Whether this is true this time, who knows, but don't just go with the adverstisement, as it usually is only part of the picture.

5) I think on Monday if it goes to Visa holders first, as they are reporting, there will be a code that will only work if you book and pay your deposit with a Disney Visa. Then there will be another code released when it goes gen. public.
That's how it has worked before.

6) And for those of you who didn't know, here is the WDW ressie 1-800#:
1-800-828-0228.

Happy Planning! :wizard:

Nothing yet..no one has gotten any "general public" info yet. That link has been up since last night (go back about 8 pages and you'll see that) We are assuming that we won't be hearing any general public info until next week with bookings begining on 4/12

I didn't go last year but everything I have read on these boards suggessts that as long as you check in on the last day (which in theory is 9/22) you can have free dining throughout your stay.

Jusst got off the phone with Disney Visa and a VERY nice lady told me the same details and she then transferred me to the correct person to make sure they had my email address in the system. She confirmed the Free dinning offer and the dates, did mention the 5days/6night things, but i think that it was just listed on what she was reading... but it was nice hearing it on the phone that it was real and is coming!!!!

For those of you who've spoken to someone about the dates - does it sound pretty sure that 8/26-9/22 is it? I know that last year it went to 9/30. We are limited to the week of 9/27 - yes a week after free dining! :sad2: I was holding out, hoping they'd extend thru the 30th, but things aren't lookin so good for us so far.

My problem is this: If free dining is not offered for our dates, then we're going to try staying off site (6 of us). But, I need to put the deposit down to reserve the town home we want or I'm going to lose it, I'm afraid.

What would you do? Go ahead and book the town home OR hold out until Disney releases the dates - and hope they extend to 9/30? (I'm thinkin my chances for that are pretty slim...) :headache:

I'm probably going to procrastinate and end up losing both deals...

Oh, well, I'll still be going to Disney this fall! :yay:

Appreciate any info about how firm those dates are.

I really wanted to go in Nov. but, I can't pass this deal up. Ds turned 3 9/8 so we will be going before then to avoid the extra plane ticket. So.....

8/31-9/7 it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats exactly when we are going, see you there piperpizzaz. (Make sure you make your ADR's today!)
I have to find a way to change my ticker, my dates are wrong. Anyone know how?

Anyone else think that the "5 night minimum at Value Resort" is not really the requirement but the ad copy of what the announcement will say??? I really hope so as we are going for 4 nights and were hoping for a Mod or Deluxe as we are a family of 5.
I know when I see Disney ads in our newspaper, they usually give an exact number of days and the price at a Value, but usually other options are available when you call to book.
Any thoughts??? I need hope!

Great news for everyone that can go during these dates :thumbsup2.

The wait is still on for me, I guess I will have to hope for a good room discount - fingers crossed.

You are not alone. :sad2: Hopefully something will come for us late September people too. :thumbsup2 Guess we will have to start a new thread for those of us who have fallen into the Free Dining black hole.
