The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

Wait a SEC, can I use that code on Monday even if I don't have a Disney Visa? :confused3 I wonder if it will work?

As far as I know that code is only for cardholders and a different one will be released for the public. But, I am not 100% certain on that. Maybe someone else has some insight???

I believe that's how it was last year as well as putting the $200 deposit on your Disney Visa. When it went to the public you could pay however you'd like.

Ok, another question about codes. Since I'm already booked at Pop, will I just have to call and have them apply the code? I was reading before this was announced that "only certain rooms are available" and I might have to cancel and book a new trip and hope there is rooms under the plan available.

Yes, just call. If there are no rooms available at Pop they'll tell you what is available and give you the opportunity to choose something else. If they don't, just ask them... "Oh, nothing available at Pop? Can you tell me what *IS* available for my dates please?" ;)

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My DH forgot to set the alarm and I slept in late today of all days!

Well, my plans for 9/29-10/7 are gone, but 9/21-9/30 is all right, I guess. I certainly hope they allow this for Deluxes. My DH and I want to travel in style for once.

Anywhoo, time to change my signature.

Yes, ARE they going to allow us to book at Deluxe resorts?????? Or is it only for the Values? I'd take a moderate resort over a value, but I really want to stay at the WL. Any insight please?

Wait, I'm still confused. Does that mean they can just apply it to my existing reservation or not?

AAARGH!! I have a three nite stay already booked and I hope to apply the free dining code to it next week. I am concerned that now I will be ineligible - the ad states a 5 nite minimum doesn't it? Usually on those promos and ads that you see in the travel section of the newspaper, they advertise it as a 6 day 5 nite package but don't use the word "minimum" directly on the ad.

BUT, I am staying at a mod which runs $163 (incl tax) per nite so if I add two nights = $326. Currently I am paying for three nites of dining = $300. So, maybe I can convince the hubby to do the extra two nights - its only $26, right?? :rotfl:

No you can't because you have to pay with the Disney Visa in order to get it and the Disney Visa has specific account numbers and the agents on the phone know what they are.

I don't know. I always thought not, but others say they can. Does it really matter? You have to call either way. ;)

Good day everyone! princess: So nothing has changed!
To answer some questions out there, the reason they do this free dining is to fill up rooms that would have been unoccupied during the value season.
The values in 2005 were the first to fill up quick so if you want to stay at POP or ASMo, I would book now. In 2005 I did not book until the free dinning code came out. We only could get the ASMu, in August my TA was able to get us in ASMo(herbie section) which I thought was nice and quite. So the good news is that most people go nuts and book rooms and then cancel their ressies in the values. We would have had no problem getting ressies at a MOD. My TA kept being asked by a CM from Disney if I would rather book a MOD. My DD had her heart sat on ASMo.
So breath it is a coming, we will all be in our happy place eating for free very soon!
It will sure get me through 10 more weeks of work~

1) you can appy the free dining to your existing reser if you have a pkg, if you have room only they will cancel room only and redo it as a pkg

2) example if your staying at POP and lets say for the heck of it that POP is not one of the resorts that is listed with free dining, you will just need to pick another resort.........

does that help, not so good with words sometimes

Brooke:)

I'd bet that they will allow it for moderates and deluxes as well. The specials almost always state Value. I think it's just because Values are the least expensive allowing them to quote a fairly low price for a family of four in the ads. Why would they want to give free dining to those paying under $100 night yet not want to give the same free dining to those willing to pay upwards of $300 night? ;)

OH, I really want to do the free dinning, I had to cancel last years. I know I wouldn't have to cancel this year.

Should I wait until after I book this to book my plane flight? The prices I see today aren't too bad from where I am flying from. I want to fly out on Friday sept. 7th and come home on sunday, sept 16th. Should I book my flight today???? I don't know what to do. I have the disney visa, so I should be able to call on monday, but what if I don't get the email code?

with the gen public code you can as long as you have a myw package. for the Disney visa u must put the deposit down with the card wich may require you to rebook your package in order to do so.

I forgot, lack of sleep.
When I called YESTERDAY and made all of my ADR's for the week of Aug26th-Sept.2nd. I was asked a couple of times when I plan on booking and I told her in a couple of weeks.I was having a hard time picking what resort to stay at this time. She asked me where I have stayed in the past, small chat about if I like it etc. She reminded me evey time I made a new ADR to call back as soon as I book so they could add my hotel to my ressies.

Also a note to those who never used free dinning before:
We are staying until Sept. 3rd, but what you want to remember is that your free ddp will only be good for the nights you are sleeping at your Disney resort. So the day you are leaving:guilty:,unless you did not use up all your credits you have to pay to eat. LOL:eek:
