The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

I called Disney Visa!

She gave me the same info (8/26-9/22 at a Value with 5 night/6 day). I asked about moderates and deluxe and adding on extra days. She said she didn't know, but that I would have to call Disney and find out. I asked if I should call Monday, but she said I could call today if I wanted. So that's what I did.

And, of course, Disney had not received the code (ZHQ) and didn't know anything about it "yet." She said to call back on Monday.

So I guess we all have to wait till Monday to find out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hourglass :hourglass :hourglass

Not till Monday. But I did ask minimum stay reqirements=3 nights.
It will be available at Values, Mods and Deluxe subject to availibilty.:thumbsup2 according to a CM named Sheila Lee.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for posting that code!!! I faithfully use my Disney Visa and I never get email from them. Me and DH need this vacation soo bad. His mom passed away suddenly two weeks ago and things just have not been right around here. His birthday is tomorrow so I'm taking DS shopping today. We'll get Daddy a nice Disney birthday card and fill it with Disney Dollars!

Congratulations to all the people who can take advantage of the free dining. We won't be going down there until Sept 26 for days afterwards. I'm hoping for a room only discount or something.

with the gen public code you can as long as you have a myw package. for the Disney visa u must put the deposit down with the card wich may require you to rebook your package in order to do so.
OK, well what I have is: 7days/6nights at POP, with a MYW with the DDP (paid for). We have 5 day park hoppers. So do you think I should just be able to call and apply the code to this existing reservation? It would make this much easier and I'll be able to breathe and not go crazy by next Thursday.

I have never used my Disney Visa to pay for a vacation at DW, how does the 0% work? I have to put a deposit down, is that 0%? and then when the rest gets applied, is that 0%... how does that go on the card?

I have about 13 chapters to read to prepare for 3 exams next week and so I just want to book using the code so i can concentrate on....dare I say....Bigger things:scared:
 :rotfl:

Our experience from Free dining in 05 & 06'. We booked the 1st available date both years for Disney Visa holders, and had a different experience as far as hotels go.

In 05' I tried (in vain) to get any Deluxe room (garden standards) and was unable to do so..from day 1! We reluctantly booked at POP (never stayed value before) and LOVED IT. My cousin booked the VERY LAST day of the promo period and there were plenty of values left (POP & ASMo were sold out, but she waitlisted and did eventually get POP). Just as another opinion from a PP who said values were 1st to sell out, that was not our experience in years past. Deluxes were 1st gone, but we'll see how it goes this year.

PS..NOTICE MY NEW TICKER???? YIPPEEE!~~~

She reminded me evey time I made a new ADR to call back as soon as I book so they could add my hotel to my ressies.
It doesn't matter, really it doesn't. You do not need to call back. People staying offsite make ADRs. I have changed my resort (several trips) without calling back and it made no difference. When you dine you will hand the server your Key to the World card to use your DDP credits. It makes no difference what your ADR says. If you booked before you had DDP you can still pay with DDP credits. If you booked saying you had DDP and opt to pay OOP you can do that too. It doesn't matter.

yes, I did this last year. They will just refund you the difference if your package is paid all ready, other wise they will just deduct the amount for dining and you pay the remainder before 45 days out.

Thanks for posting this! We have a Visa but paid the $200 deposit with Master card--however I then paid another $300 down on Disney Visa when I found out about free dining, and Visa cardholders getting first dibs.I've been waiting to pay off the rest for when free dining comes out. Do you think they'll have me re-book, or will I be okay since I paid some (the $300) on the Visa??!!

I'm really hoping I don't have to re-book, which sounds like a pain. I assume if I do rebook they then credit the money I've already paid to my new reservation? Or do they credit it back to the credit cards?

I've had a lot of catching up to do this morning....about 20 pages worth. Congrats to those that fall into the free DDP time frame. Maybe those of us that will be going in Oct. will get some sort of deal as well.

I know that, people make ADR offsite.
I think she was giving me a hint that the free dinning would be out during my dates! Since I booked Hoop Doo, and had to use my credit card to hold the ressie, I do have to call back when I get on the dinning plan.

I just called Disney and the CM said she knew nothing about an upcoming code but that if they did offer one, you can modify existing reservations. Which is great for us since we have 2 packages already booked, the second one starting on 8/27!

I'm new to this thread......what's the deal with booking through Disney Visa? Are there any special rates? We've already booked on our own with a code but I'm wondering what benefits I'd have if I booked through Visa. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

The Disney Visa thing we're talking about is that Disney Visa cardholders are getting a three day advance to book free dining before the code is given to the general public. In order to get that advance booking, you need to use the Disney Visa to pay at least the deposit.

Thanks for the info....we've had a Disney Visa for years, I'll have to look into it, although then I'd have to cancel the packages I've already booked with Disney. Boy does this get complicated!
