The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Katie doesn't have teeth yet, and I don't remember what I did with ds12, so I can't help with that problem!

It was 3 meds. The antibiotic was $70!

We are home again today. I think she will be ok for daycare tomorrow. I've been on the phone with the ins. company for awhile. I took all 3 kids for checkups in May (Katie's 2 month and the older kids yearly). The ins. paid on the girls, but not on ds12. Dh told me that he couldn't call and find out anything-that he had to go through some woman at work. All he could find out was it was "out of network." Um.......it paid on the girls, it was not out of network. Yesterday the very unfriendly receptionist asked me to pay some on it "so they wouldn't "have to pursue legal action." OK. So I come home and tell dh that he has to clear this up with the ins. His response - just pay the bill and don't worry about it! N0......What is the point of ins. if they don't pay! So I call the lady at his job and tell her I need to know what is going on, and she gives me a number to call at the ins company! I call, and they are very nice, and are looking into why it is showing out of network. I could have called them months ago! I called dh, and he said he must have misunderstood.......:headache:

And $100,000 for a wedding!:scared1: That is alot of Disney trips, and cruises, .....:)

I had my 6 week checkup today. She gave me another 3 weeks (ACK!) before any fun can happen with DH and me. Apparently I still have a location/stitch that hasn't healed enough yet. Three weeks?! Goodness, makes me wonder how bad my tear really was!

Alex has been really irritable today. I think he has gas really bad and on top of that he's going through a growth spurt so we are feeding every two hours it seems like. He's finally calmed down some, I gave him some gas drops about an hour ago, and has been playing on his play mat for a while now. He keeps going back and forth between playing and sleep...he's about due for a nap so I'm pushing for that sleep...

We're hopefully still really far away from teething. Did you try kellymom?

I so want to get a Keurig coffee maker and there's a thread on the BB about it. They're just so expensive...but I want it! Wah! lol

Lily's all set up at home with her daddy and her first Cavs game. I got her an outfit over the weekend. :-) Too bad I have to work and miss it. I'll be home for the end though.

m to be able to add you as a friend and im not sure why??

Thanks girls- i sent you all friend requests on facebook.

Jake is doing so much better now that we have rice cereal in his formula. I never thought in a million yrs I would do that-- but its better than seeing him in pain and the doctor said it would work. It has improved things significantly (along with zantac).

I have no idea why I don't have an "add as a friend" button on my page....Maggie, I sent a PM. Anyone else can send me an email via facebook and I can add you that way.

Hi everyone,

Getting ready for Halloween? I finally settled on costumes for the boys. My oldest is going to be a lion and the little one is going to be a rhinoceros! I found a Tom Arma rhino costume and got it in a 6/12. It's a good thing Halloween is on Saturday because it barely fits.

I don't have facebook either. My sister keeps trying to force me to join. I guess this is about as close as I get to something like that. lol

Amandalisa -I guess the best thing I remember to try is not to let them get a reaction out of you. It will turn into a game, just like dropping a cup or throwing silverware. Easy to say but I understand completely. I nursed DS until he was 1. He never bit me unless he was congested so I got lucky. Hopefully his brother will do the same. You can try something I did. If he bites you, remove him. Once he settles back down, try again. If he keeps doing it and won't nurse, distract him with a teether to see if he just wants to chomp on something besides you. I can tell if my LO is going to clamp down because he wiggles his jaw back and forth, like he's loosening his latch. The tongue is covering the teeth while nursing so he can't bite you then, but that split second between nursing and biting can be hard to see. Try removing right after he stops eating and then offer it again if he still seems hungry. I hope that helps! ;)

December - I hope your kiddos are feeling better soon. Those are some expensive meds! I still have to get one of the signature characters saved before Halloween is over. lol Have any for Thanksgiving and Christmas?

Maggie - Sorry to read about Jake and the reflux. My best friend's daughter had severe GERD and they would both cry and feeding time. I hope it gets easier for you. I've never heard of silent reflux before.

MMKK - Both of my boys now have a cough out of nowhere. They were both sick at different times over the last 2 weeks, so I think they just traded germs and started over. I think I've got something they do, but I just try not to think about it. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming... That must have been a crazy good wedding for $100k.

Sarah - I just looked at the Keurig in the BBB flyer. Looks like fun but way too much $$$! I don't like coffee or hot drinks besides hot coco. DH loves anything coffee though. It would just collect dust like solar panel security lights he "had to have". :rotfl:

I still have to make Madeline's cape for her Halloween costume-she wants to be a super hero princess! :lmao: I thought that was pretty original. She wants the dog to have a cape too, so I have to make two capes and two masks.
Zander is supposed to be a penguin but its a pretty heavy costume and we are breaking records here for high temps and supposed to continue thru Saturday so I may have to forgo the penguin costume. I didn't get any of my decorations up this year and I LOVE decorating for Halloween. I guess I have been lazy.

The 100K wedding was pretty awesome-it better be for that much money! Their photographer was at every wedding function-including the Bridal Luncheon at Ruth Chris steakhouse (which my mom said that Madeline was so prim and proper at-I still wonder what happened to my child that day! ;)) and at the spa for the bridesmaids and the flower girl (Madeline had her first mani/pedi!). I can't wait to see all the pictures-they were constantly taking shots of Madeline.

Maggie-its good to hear that the rice cereal is helping.

December-isn't insurance a PITA! You really have to watch them carefully, because they are always screwing something up.

I'm so glad Jake is doing better Maggie!

I love being friends with you all on FB, we get to see way more pictures that way! :)

As for Halloween. We decided we're not even going to hand out candy this year, just a quiet night hiding in the basement. lol We did get Lily 3 costumes though...I'll put the pics up later...Minnie Mouse, Tinker Bell and Tigger. All Disney, what a shocker!

The Tinker Bell one is 12mos and I'm hoping it'll fit next summer if we go to WDW. It's too cute.

I will update with pictures and the story either later tonight or tomorrow. . .

Had a spinal tap headache (the pain was worse from that than my contractions were) and FINALLY started feeling better last night (after I got my second blood patch) - that's why I haven't updated yet. . .

Congrats-and sorry about the headaches.

Ds12 did NOT want a Halloween costume, he was too old, no way was he dressing up........until this week when he decides he wants to go as a Star Wars character. Walmart where we had the 2 hr wait for meds was out, so we are going to try to check our local Walmart tomorrow. Dd9 (10 in less than 2 wks!:scared1:) wore her fairies (Silvermist) costume to a party Sat night, and hated it, and ended up ripping the wings while playing, so I shelled out more money for a punky looking witch costume. I still haven't gotten Katie's Tink costume from my sister, who insisted on making it....

I'm hoping that Star Wars Weekends are while we are in WDW next year (not even telling dh that we are going during Gay Days......:rolleyes1), so I'm going to try to get ds12 something he can wear to that. His favorite part of DL in 2008 was getting chosen for the Jedi Academy. And I hope that there are some 12 mo ballerina Tink costumes left when they clearance them Sunday, so I can get Katie one to wear to Pixie Hollow next year.princess:

*****Everyone, including former teachers, are trying to get me to do Facebook. I have enough addictions, starting with the Disboards, and I don't need to add to them!

Aww! Congratulations! I got the headache too.. with my first. If it makes you feel any better, I didnt get it with my other two epidurals. It was just a one time thing for me.

He never bit me unless he was congested

I don't know why I didn't think about that! He's so congested right now with his 3rd cold in 6 weeks. We had colds and the Swine flu go through our house just recently and he keeps getting sick. So, between his cold and getting that new tooth, that has to be the reason he was biting me. Thank you so much!!!:goodvibes

My two youngest had reflux, with Luca having it the worst. They were both on Prevacid. It honestly felt like it would never end, but then one day...it was just gone. Hang in there, it gets better...I promise!

I don't know how many stores are doing this, but I just got (really nice) Disney Halloween costumes for the two little ones for $2.50 each at Toys R Us! :woohoo: My sister checked hers, and the prices weren't the same.

Well... we came back early.

Lucas liked our bed at Coronado Springs, though:

Hidden Mickeys!! :)

I think he liked the teacups, too:

We came back early because there is no way our marriage would have survived staying. It might not even survive now but we'll see. He promises to go see someone but I've heard it before so I don't know.

I'm glad Lucas had a good time, Patsy. He's such a cutie!

 I hope you and your DH can work through your issues.

This sounds serious....I'm so sorry that you are having a tough time right now. And I'm really sorry that you felt the need to cut your trip short. :(

Patsy, so sorry. Did Lucas get to see any characters?

Patsy

I'm so sorry to hear that...you know we are all here for you always! Even if you just want to vent or need a hug we can offer that. Please let me know if you EVER need anything & I sincerely hope you and Tom can work things out.

Patsy- I got your enfamil coupons and I appreciate them so much. I sent you a friend request on Facebook. Glad you made it home safely. Sorry you had to cut your trip short- you can always talk to me if you ever need a listening ear. Your pictures are SO cute!
