Has anyone been to WL CL since they have revamped? The lounge looks really, really small. Like maybe 3-4 people in at a time. The old set up was bad enough. This really doesn't look much better! We are planning a trip for New Years and I am playing with the idea of a concierge stay.

Ergens2,

While I haven't stay concierge yet with the new lounge, I have seen the new area that they built for food service, there is pleanty of room for the function it was designed for...The Wilderness Lodge originally built the 7th floor for guest on their honeymoons, it was ment to be quiet, private & secluded.

The popularity of concierge has made the resort add to this area, I believe they have done a wonderful job. Does it compare with other resorts where a large concierge area was planned from the conception? :confused3 (Not sure, I have never stayed at CL at any other resort.) But others have and I love reading their reports.

There again the price difference must be included. A Concierge room during value season @ AKL, BC, BWI, & YC all start at $435.00 a night. You also have Poly @ $410.0, GF @ $460.00 CR $405.00 a night for a tower room and $495.00 a night for a 14th floor room. The Wilderness Lodge concierge rooms start at $360.00, that's a price difference of anywhere from $45.00 to $130.00 a night.

I feel the quality of the hot food that is offered is excellent, it is prepared by the staff at Artist Point. The other basic items are the same items that are offered at everyother Concierge on property, With items added to each that reflect the Resorts theming. ( ie Zebra Domes @ AKL)

The staff of CM's at Wilderness Lodge are outstanding.

I will say that while staying at Wilderness Lodge Concierge, I fell I have the entire Lobby and Bay Lake to view and enjoy. So it never seemed small to me.
If you decide to stay CL during your next stay please report back so we will know if you enjoyed the new areas.

HAVE A GREAT TRIP and remember...
WHILE AT THE LODGE, PAT THE BEAR'S NOSE SO THE MAGIC CAN BEGIN.

I booked Concierge for October of this year and I am really excited. I only have one problem and I don't know what to do. On our reservations it says we would like a 4th floor room, but we want to be on the 7th floor with the lounge. I have asked CR to remove the request, but it still shows up. How can I make sure I get the 7th floor?

Thank you
Lynne

I need more pictures of Ranger Stan!! If you have any, please send them over so I can add them to my gift for him?

Thanks!

Fred

Did you originally request the 4th floor? How did it get there in the first place? Ask reservations to remove the request as you had mentioned or, if it bothers you that much, cancel the ressie and create a new one.

Flag family usually starts betwen 8:15 and 8:45 in the main lobby at the front desk. You meet up with whomever is doing the ceremony with you there.

There is a book that keeps track of flag family availability at the front desk. When you check in, ask to see if there are any days available during your stay. If there are, you are in! If not, ask to be placed on a waiting list in case someone cancels last minute.

Good luck!

No, we didn't request the 4th floor and I have no idea how it got on our reservation. I can't cancel the ressie because we have a great rate and we had to have our employer fax a letter of good standing; plus we have a package and we are past our 45 days.

Can the concierge staff help me?

Thanks for your help

Are there any other fireplaces in WL. I know about the main one but thought I read there were other little ones with rocking chairs and such. Am I crazy? We are going in Jan. and love nothing more then to spend the evening by a cozy fire after a long day at the park.

There is a wonderful nook on the 4th floor right above the front doors, big soft couches and chairs with a beautiful fireplace.

There is also a small fireplace in the back section of WCC.

Over at the Villas in the Iron Spike Room there is a great area you may use as a guest of the Lodge, this is my favorite fireplace.

Bump. This is wonderful information. I'm dreaming that our next stay will be at the WL, and I'm trying to plan ahead...

Thanks Beckie! You are always such a wealth of knowledge! Thank you. Now I am trying to decided between CL or a 1 br villa. It is just my DH and I. No kids yet. What do you think?

Sorry if this was asked but is there internet access at WL? I don't remember from my last trip. I mean an actual computer room or business room type thing, I am not brining my computer. Thanks! :sunny:

I might not be the one to ask...I love Concierge and enjoy the offerings, but I'm also a DVC Member VWL is my Home Resort. I personaly would go with the One-Bedroom Villa or even the Studio, depending how long your visit will be. Any trip over 3 days I would go for the larger accommodations.

The Lodge was High-Speed access for every room...but I am not aware of any location that has a computer you can use. :confused3

There maybe computers at the Convention Centers at either the Contemporary Resort or CSR.

We will be renting DVC points next October and our first choice would be to stay at the VWL. We have been in contact with someone who has been very helpful and willing to rent us his points but they are OKW owners. Anyone have a guess as to whether there will be studio availability in mid to late October at the VWL 7 months out? We wouldn't be able to book at the 11 month mark for other reasons for us waiting to book as well.

Also, I have seen some of the pics of the studio interiors online, but I'm hoping they don't do it justice...any input on the interiors of the rooms? Thanks!

Megan:

We own at VWL and I personally don't think the photos you see online do the villas justice at all. They're brighter, cheerier and cozier. :)

As far as 7-month availability, it's hard to say. VWL is the smallest resort, but I would think studios might not be as hard to book. If you do choose to work with the OKW member, could you maybe write the contract to say that you have to be able to move to VWL or the contract is void? Just a thought ...
