Jeanne,

Just spent about an hour going through back reservations to find this. In April 1996 we stayed in a Jr. Suite, now called Deluxe Suite the location was the end of the South Wing with balcony facing Bay Lake....Room # 5169... Hope this helps. have stayed in the Jr.Suite more but this was the only Final Bill I could find with room # on it. We also stayed in the same location but on the third floor so I guess that would have been Room #3169.

Hey Everyone!

I have a question--but first, some explanation. I called CRO on June 2, to change my ressies from Woods View to Standard View. The CM reviewed all my previous requests with me; she even told me that she noted again that I would really like a lobby room. When I received my modified confirmation letter a couple of days ago, everything was correct EXCEPT that it states nothing of my requests. My first letter had my requests (except Lobby Room) stated under Resort Information. Should they have also stated the Lobby Room request?

Do you think that because this is a "modified" ressie confirmation letter that they didn't bother to print the requests (but they're in the computer)? Or should I call CRO? Please let me know what you would do--I'm a newbie at this WDW resort stuff! TIA

He did great! We rode Pooh, Pirates of the Carribean, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear, and the Carousel at Magic Kingdom. He loved loved loved Playhouse Disney at MGM. We didn't go to Animal Kingdom or Epcot this time.
The little ones can go on most rides, you will have a great time....

Erika, Hi!

I wouldn't worry about your requests. I was told by a CM that when we make requests they use code letters on the confirmation that we receive. If you look at your confirmation, look at the lower right hand corner about 1/3 the way up. There should be some letters that look like "ZAFXR". When the resort opens up your reservation, they see the code and scroll down to see the requests. When we checked into our resort in May I was watching the CM pull up our reservation on his computer and he actually turned the computer so I could see what he was doing. It was neat. He showed us how he looks for rooms and how he checks on the requests, etc.

I hope this helps. But if you want, checking again with CRO can't hurt. And it might ease your mind. They do sometime mess up and even if they add your requests, they don't update your confirmation, therefore it never gets on it.

Take care and I hope you have a magical vacation. :D

....I, too, have altered my ressies at WL. When I received confirmation via mail, it only gave the new price and the change of location (woods to courtyard). I then called the CRO and had them read back to me my original room request. It was there. I plan to call periodically, just to be sure my specifics for a room request is still in the computer. I would advise you to be sure to call about 3-5 days before your arrival date to make sure everything you requested is still noted on your form. I hope this helps.

Hi, everybody! I just called and added a day to our res., we'll be spending 4 days of our trip at WL now, instead of 3!! So excited! My question is this:

We are staying on the concierge level, and I asked IPO if they could add to my file that we would like to be near the "lounge" (knowing there is no lounge, per se) and the elevator, if there are such rooms. They emailed back and said there are, and they've noted it in my file. I don't have anything other than "non-smoking" listed on my CRO res. I want to add something, so that when they download my res. to the Lodge, they will not have to look up my request.

Does anybody know anything about the rooms in this area, what kind of view, how noisy, etc. I asked for this area, as I have a bad ankle and as the trip wears on, it starts to swell and I need to save steps wherever possible. But, if you have a suggestion that is not too far down a hallway, I'd like to hear it!:teeth:

Thanks for your help, I love your thread, read it often!! :wave2:

Hello everyone! I hope you've all had a good week.

It occurs to me, reading the threads, that I don't understand how to make the best use of transport for DS9 and my trip in July. I think I've got the boat thing down now, so that takes care of MK and Epcot (I can get to Epcot on the Monorail after taking the boat to MK, can't I)? However, this leaves many other places. So, how does this look (I will have a rental car):

(These things happen on different days, I should point out).

Drive from WL to AKL for Boma.
Take the bus to GF for Pirates' Cruise.
Drive to Blizzard Beach? (I want to get there freakishly early--like 8:15 for 9:00 "rope drop")
Bus to MGM and AK
Drive to DTD--(I have horrible bus luck with DTD, and I'm not a bus-wait complainer, usually)

Will these plans work or am I just being loopy?

O.K., now, slightly OT...

Fred! Mrs. and Small Fred are adorable! What a nice looking family! (It's one of those things I always think when I see your picture, but I don't think I've said yet). In addition, Loretta, you and Mike photograph nicely, too. ::yes:: I like the pictures that people put up of their families.

Thanks in advance for any transportation help!

Sarah

Thank you so much, dizneykid/jeanne & mick. I will call CRO--probably next Tuesday.

FYI, dizneykid: I found those codes/letters on my confirm. letters; it's different on each letter. On my original it says *ZRPRE* and on my latest one it says *ZRNOR*. That's a neat little tidbit about those request codes, and it was very nice of that CM to show you that :) .

Thanks Again!

Erika-I'm sure I missed this, but why the switch from Woods to standard, if you don't mind my asking? (I ask because I went the other way just recently, but, of course, am now questioning my decision...)

Hi, babybunrab  ! Plain and simple--we can't afford it right now. I know it's only $15 extra a night, but hey, it's $15 x 10 nights (with tax it comes out to $167 saved by going standard). I booked what they had available (Woods view) so I'd secure a room there and in hopes of getting a standard room if I just waited a while (which I did). And going standard at WL was basically the only way we could stay there without our feeling too uncomfortable about the extra expense. We're also counting on AP rates to come out. If they don't, and we don't have enough money put aside for the price of standard WL accomodations by September, then we'll have to cancel our ressies there and stay in the DTD area. What I may do, just to insure that we have a room nearby, is call the Wyndham Palace next month and book a suite there for the same dates (we can get low rates there--the longer you stay, the lower your daily rate--think $150/night for a suite). But I really want to be in the middle of the Disney Magic :(. Please send a little bit of PD our way. . . and in everyone's way who's hopping for them, too!
I guess it really wasn't that "plain and simple" :p !
:wave2:

Ahh, yes, money.

If it makes you feel better, though, I saved a lot of money by getting the AP rate that just came out. That's actually why we switched. I got the Woods view for cheaper than the standard rate I had previously booked! So, I will keep my fingers crossed and fling some pixie dust (not easy to do simultaneously, I assure you). We don't want you staying at the Wyndham (though I'm sure it's lovely) when you could be at WL.

You know what I just realized? Now that I've added a day by accident (long story) my DS doesn't have enough days on his hopper! What do I do about that, I wonder...

Had to edit this to say...

Erika-Just saw your first ticker! Have you been to New Orleans? I hope you have a fabulous time--we loved it when we went!

And didn't someone just have an anniversary trip to Cape Cod a couple of weekends ago? Who was that and how was it? I hope the weather was good!

Yes, but I wouldn't, it would take way to long.

Sarah

You can also catch a bus to EPCOT from WL. IF you want to ride the Monorail to EPCOT you have several options but the fastest, easiest way to get there is to go to the bus stop and catch the INTER-RESORT bus this bus makes a loop all day long from Ft. Wilderness Campground @ stop located near Pioneer Hall to the WL then to TTC (the ride takes about two minutes) @ the TTC you can then board the EPCOT Monorail to EPCOT.

*There are three Monorails...
1.) Resort Monorail stops at TTC, Poly, Grand Floridian, MK, CR, then back to TTC.
2.) The express Monorail stops only at TTC and MK.
3.) EPCOT Monorail has a station at TTC and EPCOT

So if you ride to the MK on the boat you would then catch the express monorail or resort monorail (resort monorail would stop at the CR) back to TTC, where you would disembark either of these systems and walk around to the EPCOT Monorail and get on that train. You may also catch a small blue flag boat from the the WL and ride it to the CR then board the resort monorail ride it to TTC then disembark and walk to the EPCOT monorail.

IF you decide on a rental car you could do Boma, BB & DTD but you could also use WDW transportation for all of your outings.

Drive from WL to AKL for Boma. Yes ::yes::
Take the bus to GF for Pirates' Cruise. Yes, IF the WL is still sharing bus service with The Grand Floridian, they change this so before you get on any bus ask the driver where he will be stopping, you may get on and instead of going to The Grand Floridian first you may ride to MGM then back to The Grand Floridian....For your visit to the Grand Floridian if the busses aren't still stopping there I would to catch the INTER-RESORT Bus to TTC then ride the Resort Monorail to the GF.

Drive to Blizzard Beach? (I want to get there freakishly early--like 8:15 for 9:00 "rope drop") Yes ::yes:: If you want to be there that early.
Bus to MGM and AK. Yes, ::yes::
Drive to DTD--(I have horrible bus luck with DTD, and I'm not a bus-wait complainer, usually) Yes ::yes:: I always have a terriable time no mater which resort I'm staying at with DTD busses.

Will these plans work or am I just being loopy? :confused3

Hope this made sense...

Heh. The "small fred" is my daughter Julia. She has grown quite a bit since that photo but I love it so! It's a great photo of us.

Of course, the "next" girl is on the way and due for a Late September / Early October arrival. I will officially be surrounded by girls! :) ::yes::

I hope to get many more pictures like it with our expanded family in the many years to come.

Fred

Well, if you mean Deluxe as in the room they show on the Great Hotels special for Wilderness Lodge, the answer would be no.

The 7th floor contains mostly rooms that are the same size as the rest of the resort. There are also 4 Honeymoon Suites and a Presidential and Vice Presidential suite. (There are photos on my website....click the link in my signature...)

I agree that if you want a bit of extra room to ask for a bunk room. Of course, the Honeymoon suite is also spacious and from what I have heard, isn't that much more than a regular concierge room.

If you absolutely want a deluxe room also known as a Junior Suite, you can go ahead and get one then ask for access to the concierge floor. It "can" be arranged. Take note that I believe all of the junior suites are at the end of the wings facing Bay Lake. Anyone want to confirm that?

Hope this helps.

Fred

We are going to the WL for the first time in about two weeks with our 3yo and our 9mo old. I would like for it to be as magical as possible so we are going concierge. Are concierge rooms automatically deluxe? Also, are there any rooms in particular we should try to request? We have the baby so we will need a crib/pack n play so as much room as possible would be nice since that will probably cramp things some. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

...a doggy-prayer for AC's furbaby, Jade, who probably is in "doggy-heaven" tonite..... :(

Fred,

FloridaCat told me that there are a few located in the South Wing near the elevator half way down the main hall. (Under the Presidential suite)

babybunrab-- I'm from New Orleans (New orleans is bigger than what you might think ;)). I'm actually about 15 min. away from the city. We are only spending one night at the Ritz CL(actually, from 12:30 pm July 8, to 12:00 noon July 9 :p) . There is a great rate for stays after the 4th of July--a CL room is $189/night! . We grabbed it so fast--we need a break from work/life stuff. What could be a better place than that. We'll be in the hotel the whole time--just relaxing, eating, bathing. . .

Beckie-- Some more great info that I need to take down :p; thank you for taking the time to type out all that info!

Fred--Congratulations on your new daughter! I know she hasn't made her grand entrance into the worrld yet, but it has to be exciting!

AspiringCindy-- So sorry. . . I'll be saying prayers for you.

Thanks for the quick responses everyone!

Magicinmyheart-I will study your suggestions throughly--right after I finish the paper I'm supposed to be writing for my summer class! Thank you for saving me from myself. Heaven knows where I would have wound up.

Fred-Congratulations! You'll be o.k., though, I'm officially surrounded by boys...

Erika-Oh, THAT Big Easy (duh)! You lucky person! I live officially in the middle of nowhere (though it's a very picturesque middle of nowhere). Have a great time. $189.00 is a great rate.

I've already decided on my next two WDW trips. One in January for the marathon, and a 2006 cruise/WL combo for when I finish grad school. Looks like you're stuck with me for a while...
