Kimberle--
thanks!! that's clever...i hadn't thought of that...taking the boat to the CR and then walking.......nice idea....
do they still have the security tents that you have to walk through before you get to the gate?....as i said, last time we were there was 2002 and the security was very heavy (nice people...they all looked like retired police officers)...

disneyholic family

Not, Miss Kimberle--but ::yes:: Yes the security stations are at every park and they will be there for a long time to come.

Another note about the Transportaion: The Larger Green Flag boat has this schedule in the a.m. when most guest are traveling to the Magic Kingdom the boat starts at Ft. Wilderness then picks up at The Wilderness Lodge giving WL guest a direct ride to the MK 10 minutes. Then in the afternoon p.m. when most guest are returning to the Lodge it reverses the route and from the MK the first stop is WL which also takes about 10 minutes. If you are going to the park in the afternoon ::yes:: Yes you will have to ride to Ft. Wilderness first.

ok im a little cofused this was posted on page 72 by MILEMRKR63----i had an awesome view from my standard lobby view room(5084) of MK,CR,Poly,Castle, momorail, space mtn and wishes----i hope this is correct but from eveything i have read on these boards i heard that the only view of mk is woods and standard is either looking at a roof or parking lot but none of the wl vets/experts posted after him to say this is wrong so im hoping this is not to good to be true:bounce: anyone??

Even though I haven't been there yet (going in early August), I've read enough to know that if you get a Standard View upper floor room in the North Wing you CAN get the MK (et al) view you are hoping for. The only difference from a woods view is that you're closer to the lobby (and further from the water), and if you look straight down you'll see a delivery parking area and a dumpster.

thanks ronald duck thats great ---who needs to look down anyway if the view of the catsle is straight ahead--- i have stayed here before but had courtyard view which was nice but not really worth the extra money to me this time around.

That's why we ask you to report back and post your view and room # to the thread When you stayed at WL... Just click on the link below:

When you stayed at WL...

When we have enough information we can then check for each room type that is available. But we also can't say you will recieve a view of the Magic Kingdom because no views are guaranteed and it's mostly luck.

....hey, bu-u-u-u-ud, can ya post a link so ah kin read all the goings on at the meet! Thanks, good buddy!

......you answered questions I had about getting over to MK in the early A.M, too. I will remember to take the small boat over at 7 A.M. to make it in time for early entry mornings at MK. Thanks!

Just returned from WL last night :( and can say without any reservation, this is my favorite resort anywhere! We stayed at WL last summer for one night in concierge and fell in love with it - but I thought maybe it was the concierge that played a part in that...since I read through these threads and see all the other hotels people rave about.
We had a reservation for a woods view but were upgraded to a courtyard view - room 1023 on the ground floor, king bed. At first I thought I may want to be higher up for a view, but I fell in love with this room. Our sliders opened up to a little grassy area with trees and bushes. My son (17 months old) and I sat out there and watched ducks, bunnies, birds and snakes go by. We probably are not supposed to, but we walked right out through the bushes to the pool...most people with these rooms were doing this.
We never had to wait long for a boat to MK. We both agreed we would rather ride the boat than the monorail to MK. It was so much more relaxing! I will be online for a while now planning our next trip back for September!!!

zalansky,

Wow a great trip, and congrats on your upgrade to Inner Courtyard. It's so funny about the music I have never heard it out by the pools as many times as I have visited...

Mick,
You're Wecome. Any time you have a question we'll try and help.

Can any WL vets tell me how long the average time on WDW transportation to get to MGM? Any difference depending on time of day? Also, has anyone tried taking a cab there from WL - was it worth it? Thanks for all the answers - we arrive at the WL on July 8th and can't wait

Once your on the bus maybe twenty minutes, I wouldn't drive to MGM because by the time you park then ride the tram back to the entrance you would have already been there and in the park if you had riden the bus. At park closing and opening it may take longer due to loading the bus. At closing you may also have to wait for the next bus.

This is why I hesitated to post my thoughts on my stay. Why the h**l would I post false info regarding my stay when I am so appreciative of the info I received from others.

Go ahead experts and answer away to his poster. Seems my first hand info isnt good enough., I mean heck, I only stayed there for 5 nights.....

MileMrKR63-

I understand your frustration, but the original poster meant no insult..was just suffering from pre-trip Disney anxiety (I can understand).

For what it's worth, your post helped ME a lot! In all the reading I had done, I hadn't realized that there were Standard View rooms that BOTH fronted on the lobby (a must) AND had a North-facing balcony with likely views of MK et al (a great added perk). So thanks a bunch for telling me about the #08# rooms!

MILEMRKR63, Don't be too upset. I was glad to read your posts. In kmc's defense I've read things on this board and others that are simply bad information.

Keep posting. We need the good ones.

...Magic; I wouldn't waste my time with a car OR taxi. I have arrived within 20 minutes, pretty much every time out. The only trouble I have experienced with the buses is to and from DTD ~ they, on the other hand, were horrendous! (of course, that was July/Aug 2002, so the bus "sitch" may have changed!)

MILEMRKR63,

Thanks for posting your report and it is appreciated I too believe kmc was excited about the possibility of maybe getting a Magic Kingdom View. Never that there was any dout about your view...

Seemed to me that kmc was more upset and woundering why the Thread or WL Vets hadn't given out that information. Because I haven't stayed in every room I don't know what every room has for a view. So unless we have a report we can't say yes you will be able to see Wishes from your standard room.

Just one large tree can block the Castle or a pitched roof so we can't tell new guest that they will be able to see the Castle or Wishes from a standard room....doesn't mean they won't either.

From page One...First post

STANDARD ROOMS: All Non-Smoking rooms with 2 Queen Beds.
Located on Floors 4,5 & 6. On the North(MK) side, they face the service area. There are also 4th floor rooms that overlokk the lobby and look out to roof peaks. Lobby rooms do have balconies

MILEMRKR63 You did a great job reporting...

Thank You
Beckie

Kimmar,

I agree the DTD Bus are terrable no matter which resort your staying at, I always drive there. I have also started driving to the AK on EMH because you can park so close to the entrance and be closer then the bus stops. Plus get a little more sleep in the morning.
